- Incredible Breakthrough! Infinite Variable Velocity Factor means NO TUNING any more. SWR will be a thing of the past! The VF follows the wavelength in a linear fashion. Quite remarkable! What do you think?

I love the reference to "Encabulated".. Classic Callum... 👍👍
HAHA
How do you eliminate the modial interaction of magneto-reluctance and capacitive diractance though?
@@paulsengupta971Ah, for that, you'll need a hyperencabulator, which operates totally on the principle of colonic effluvium expulsion and audible gaseous eruptations.
I was a little suspicious until you mentioned transparent aluminium at 1:26, then I looked at the Callumder... Nice one 🤣
In fact, there is a "transparent aluminium" form - the aluminium oxide a.k.a. sapphire, alumina, corundum... :)
Hello Lord Callum: Thank you for for this April Fools joke you always bring a smile to my face. God Bless & my best to Wendy and the dogs. TMP, Unit 22 from N.J.
Awe Thanks!!
@@DXCommanderHQI was smiling throughout, even chuckling at points, seeing struggling to come up with a more believable name for it. 😂
Lol. You got me. Having a morning coffee still waking up and was mesmerized by this new product.......... Morning smiles wonderful.
That was great ! That DX 50 wire is great ! Cheers from NY,USA !!
You are a blast Cal thanks for cheering me up on this rubbish day here.
As soon as I heard the infinitely variable Velocity Factor I clicked it was April 1st. I was a great Laugh though!!! Well Played Sir!
Glad you enjoyed!
Callum you are Hysterical🤣🤣
Happy April 1st. 😎👍
😁
lol, you had me at the beginning... until you mentioned faster than the speed of light 🤔😆
There was quite a few give-aways on this one!
I was scratching my head over the 100% velocity factor - I'm thinking, how would you do that? Even before he got to the faster than light bit. He got me good.
Copper polymer was a "huh, wut" moment.
It took me entirely to long to register what was going on.... I bow to you sir!
had me pulling up my bank statement to see if I could justify... lol
Good one Sir Cal...good one.
Ha! Your trusting tone of voice really got me thinking…. Good one Cal!
Wendy watched it and said she absolutely KNEW I was lying from the get-go.. But that's my wife for you!
I forgot today was April Fools...You got me Cal 😂
Lol, not even watched the full video yet... brilliant... wondering if there are any out takes fro this where you crack up lol
Very well presented and almost had me till you mentioned the velocity factor of the cable and then the cost of the wire. It made me think I just bought 50 meters of this stuff not that long ago. I stopped and thought I really didn't spend that much did I? Because when the wife sees that bill I will have alot of explainiung to do...LOL Thanks for the laugh and have a great day Callum.
HA!!
Brilliant. 👍 I'm guessing the 4/1 caveat at the end was for the 5 wpm novices still out there. You could always use the wire when a low E D'Addario breaks, giving you auto Tremelo.
Well done Cal. Enjoy the April tradition.
Oh you had me going for a minute! I thought you’d seriously undercharged me for my DX50 😂😂😂
Next time!
This is a good one!!
It's that day of the year!
Love it. Strangley, I wasn’t that surprised when you said to cost £100 a foot!
It's gone up!
😂😂😂😂
You ALL MOST had me... until you mentioned the "transparent aluminium". LOL.
Great stuff! Happy April Fools day mate!
73 from west Texas!
Glad you enjoyed it
Hahaha! Thanks Callum!! I'm glad they finally found a use for that transparent aluminium!!! I bet the engineers had to divide by zero to get that velocity to faster than the speed of light!!!!
You bet!
I saw the video today and i literally fall into the trap!
Great video! 😁
Thanks! 😁
Taken from the electrical spaghetti harvest
Incabulated.
Yeah, happy 1st of April to you too Callum.
Wonderful spoof
Good one you got me. With today's tech I thought maybe.
Encabulated - Brilliant!
Yeah! LOL
You know Callum some guys will be putting down the quid to get them some of your new HIgh speed low drag military spec wire.
Nooo!
@@DXCommanderHQ 😁😇
I would like to see a video on coax length. Myth of multiples of wavelengths versus just any length. Since you have such expertise on this subject i would love to see a video.
I already made that video.. Just search "cox" on my channel.
Haha your quite the straight faced actor, good job
Yes, but if you use a borosilicate tube pressurized with a Bose-Einstein Condensate, imple thermal and pressure adjustments can properly tune the cable tube to almost any velocity, optimized by frequency.
Of course that means optical conversion at both ends, but that also gives you lightning and emp isolation.
Yes, excellent isolation though. Agreed!
Professionally, I use Phosphor-bronze wire, 3mm 7x12, from Ormiston Wire in the UK, for anything up to around 5kW. It doesn't stretch, solders, and is light. It's about #4.25 per metre though. On pro jobs I seem to have enough left to make some ham band antennas! Its not a super-conductor though, like Cal's super-light-speed wire.
yesterday I ordered a 300 foot role of #14 antenna wire from dx engineering to replace the wire on my full wave 80 meter horizontal loop(great antenna for 80 and 40 meters plus.)
I was concerned because that was a LOT of money to spend on something that I absolutely needed to buy...you got me.
LMAO, I was wondering who on this bloody earth would pay that Cal. But the speed of light...Good one mate
That video reminded me of some of the adverts for high end audio cables.
Oh yes! Baloney at their finest!
I'll tell ya, my retro-encabulator has been an absolute lifesaver when I've needed to use inverse reactive current in my lateral phase detractor AND automatically synchronize the cardinal granmeters.
Yes.. lateral phase detractor's can be difficult.
Nice. You got me. I was going to recommend you do a full length 180
Deal!
nice one Callum
BRILLIANT! 👍💥😂
Awww.... I was getting my checkbook ready to buy a spool. Hahahaha... Loved it! 🤣 73
Sorry!
My BS Alarm went off at the 100% velocity factor....like that is just not possible....with out super cold super conductors.
Good job!
I needed to let the cat out the bag as fast as possible..
I heard encabluator and I was like wait a min.
Yeah!!
Haha very good. You do make me laugh 😂
Very good, Callum. You had me until the infused polymer and transparent aluminium bit. Now to try and get some of this made for real
It was a good laugh!
It's a good prank, but actually not an entirely impossible idea. Difficult to get perfect tuning from the factory, but in theory you could design a wire with a tiny coil trap every inch or two, perhaps even wound around the main line... Much like with a fan antenna, the source voltage would "find" the closest-matching trap for the given frequency and dump maximum current into it.
Maaaaybe not a great RX antenna, but might be interesting to try anyway.
Good fun Callum 😂
still rockin my VHF/UHF / HF/Kenwood TS-590
Yeah. Great!
Professor Unwin would be proud :)
you had me at transparent aluminium 🤣 star trek reference?
Yes, Star Trek! :)
Haha! - Thanks Callum! - Cheers!
Any time!
This is my favorite wire! No tuner, no problem..
Awesome you got me
And, and...I'm still waiting for Kenwood to turn out the TS-1090 from last year...or ANY new radio. I think they still have you topped Cal'! Best guffaws always, Your Pal, Thumpy...
Thumpy!
Very good, I was almost fooled, you must remember Electrons weigh more than Photons.
Best one ever.....
I saw the piece of DX50 and had to share. Just 2 days ago, whilst mowing the grass, my mower found a DX50 radial. (There was only one). And it required me to remove the mower blade to untangle it. DX50 is tough stuff. But not quite mower proof.
Ouch!
We a day ahead here, so already bought some of this before I seen your video , but only payed half that, but my ant works better, so must be good stuff. Cheers.
Of course, you are already on a different day!
Will you be making a Deluxe edition of the DC Commander using this wire? 😉
That's the plan! Next year. Launched April 1st.
@@DXCommanderHQlooking forward to it, and seeing the development videos. 😂
You cant keep a straight face.... right from the word go. Fantastic 😂😂
My brain wasn't braining. I was trying to figure out how this had any benefit to the hobby 😂
good one, i like it , cause transparent aluminium is worth every penny! But what shall we do without maching transparent DXCommander poles ?
With great difficulty!
Awesome. Cheers!
...
Now, where's that big chocolate bunny I was hiding from my missus... 😂
😅
@@DXCommanderHQ You think I'm joking, I've just finished my 4th 12 hour night shift and... no chocolate anywhere in the house... not a sausage... and I know it's not the dog who ate it all... 🤔😂
Well Callum...you got us, me at least 😅 BTW your french is not too bad actually 😉Cheers
Merci!
@@DXCommanderHQ Bienvenue ! de VA2FFG
good one Cal (;
Happy April F00L
bahahaha, dam it.. had me for a minute but then wait a minute!! well done cal
So close!
You almost had me going except for the VF of 1. 0.66 to 0.8 would have been believable.
thanks for the tip, I am going to try chat gpt decifering european SSB from foreign languages to english now.
Best of luck!
Transparent aluminum, lol!
In Star Trek the tank for the whales was made of that.
@Dave-VK5PL, yup, I caught the reference, too. Funny stuff!!
@@Dave-VK5PLScotty traded the formula for transparent aluminum to acquire the acrylic, if my memory serves me. Either way, it was a good reference. I really enjoy learning here.
Star Trek.. Come on, I gave this away FAST! LOL!!
Oh a safe Trekkie area, live long and prosper fellow nerds..🤣
I once asked Chat GPT about the velocity factor, and its reply stunned me. It insisted that the velocity factor is changing with frequency. I asked many supporting questions about how it reached that conclusion, and finally, I found a formula. I Googled it, and in a catalogue, a company put that formula for coax that became true for GPT. So. that joke someone already did. Moreover, someone is selling such cable.
HECK!
I was SO EXCITED!!!!! Literally starting to figure out how to explain a $1000 piece of wire to my wife! First Aprils Fool that got me in a minute. 😂
HAHA Poor John! LOL
To infinity and beyond! 😂
Good one Cal!! LOL
Hi Cal,
You had me going until I realized it was April Fools Day. 73 WJ3U
Comne on Don!
I need some of that, where's the link ! :)
Private sales only Stu!
Transparent Aluminium, you making a DX commander star trek edition 😅
Star Trek edition! That's it :)
Callum, yea let's see ;-)
Does that go with the Keneood ts1090? 😂
Oh, and I believe you are referring to a TURBO encabulator. 😂😂
Yes, the Turbo version!
Have a good April fools day, Callum. N0QFT
ya bugger you got me lol
You actually got me Cal! Now I will never believe anything you say about velocity factors, entabulated velocity rectifiers or voltage variable anti‐radiometric intensifiers. Im likely scarred for life after being so completely bamboozled. April Fools indeed! Lol 😂 cheers right back! Craig KD9UQE
Scarred for life! LOL!!
Did you previously sell used cars Callum?😂
I think you need to run for Prime Minister, Lord Callum!🤴😊
Reminds me of the $4500 10ft HDMI cable that Best Buy has on their website. No April Fools.
WOAH!
Transparent aluminium! "Well how do we know he didn't invent the thing?" Beam me up Scotty! 😊
Haha yeah!
I think my end fed half wave acts like this wire. It seems to have a different velocity factor on every band.
HAHA Funny!
@DXCommander well, Callum, despite our short email exchange about DX50 last week I might have to save up my pocket money and buy this instead.. or maybe I will stick with DX10 for now.
HA!!!
Transparent aluminium…soon as I heard that I recalled the Star Trek film where Kirk and crew went to save the whales… Scotty was talking to some scientist and they needed transparent aluminium… I thought,,, hi hi…this is bollokoney..🤪 💙
Yeah.. I loved that!
Rich beyond the dreams of avarice 😂, great film the voyage home.
I need a antenna of transparent aluminum for my HOA!
HAHA
I''ve got a real of that in my shed had it for years I will sell it to you £10 a foot I had no idea it was £100 a foot so that's cheap. I picked mine up at a car boot sale I was going to use it for portable. Happy April.
Brilliant!
April Fooooool
Variable velocity factor? Sounds like you’re describing RG58!
Oh sh1t yes!
Awesome April Fools joke Cal…. Enjoy the rest of your day. Bill, KC2KNA
Badum Tish!! 😂
ARRL QST does a 04-01 joke somewhere.
Took me a couple of seconds :-)
