That's an interesting, and tragic story for people who lived there seeing their homes sliding down the side of the mountain. Great drone footage and narration of the event. Thanks for sharing Marucs.
I really enjoy your videos about Boise and the surrounding areas. This is Joe from Az. Eversince we visited Boise, Meridian, Kuna etc. , I have really looked forward to your videos. I learn something new when you do these type of videos. Keep up the great work. When u showed downtown Boise, I wonder if we saw the Red Lion Hotel where we stayed last week. Thx.again.
Thanks for an interesting video, Marcus! I'm jealous of the flight time you get on that drone. At 67% battery, you still had over 26 minutes of flight time left! My Air 2S is flying on fumes after 25 minutes in the air.
Very interesting. Thanks for the info. Your right... we pay such exorbitant insurance premiums every year, and for what? When it's time for them to pay out they don't
Great flight of substance! Thanks for sharing. NO WAY I'd ever want to live up there, regardless of the view, et-al. Way too many risks involved, notwithstanding fire, weather, wind and distance from Costco.😅🤣😂
Your area is not known for seismic activity and the potential of unknown water saturation could have lead to the slide/unstable land to support the development. If prior to excavation there were heavy winter conditions could have caused a high levels of moisture saturation making the ground unstable. Somebody felt the numbers were in tolerance for the project, they got it wrong.
sorry hope you can help would you recommend this drone over the pro ,I'm not a newbie but also not into professional drone work also I'm not really a massive photo person i just love the drones for fun ,PS i do have a Mavic 2 pro just after a good upgrade
I remember this going down in 2016. Lots of finger pointing was going on. I left the state for work reasons so I never did find out if there were red/yellow flag warnings from the site engineers. In any case, it seems developers are too eager to build and gain a buck from the incoming out of state people. The Boise River flooding in the Eagle area is another issue.
In the end, it’s all of the above with the city, engineers, and developers. Even in the flat areas like Eagle and Star for example, the developers built on land that’s 10ft above the water table. Can’t tell you how many number of homes have water underneath in their crawl space causing problems. Yet they continue to hand out permits like candy building away while the roads remain a single lane. There’s new areas where they built through winter and when spring came, the street and homes cracked after the permafrost thawed. It’s insane, these people belong in prison.

Thank you Ron! It really was a bad deal.
Great Sir
Thank you so much!

Thank you John!
Hey, nice video! It's cool to see the Idaho landscape from your drones.
Thank you Chris!
Another awesome video review Marcus.
Thank you so much!
Excellent 'newsy' vid Marcus, thank you. 🙂
you Julius!
awsome video Marcus .
Thank you Henry!
Interesting story! Have to schedule time to fly the Avata2
We're at the Oregon Coast right now Tania. I've has some really great flights! Yes, let's get out to the Canyon with the Avatas!
Wow. Looks like they were beautiful homes with awesome views. That's sad the land gave way
Yes, I'm sure it devastated some of the home owners financially.
Perfect timing
Excellent!

Thank you Joe! I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
Awesome 💯👍🏿
Thanks for the visit David!
Thank you Marcus 👌🏼
It is absolutely my pleasure! Thank you!
Great video, Marcus. We had a similar situation here in Puerto Rico where there was a landslide and unfortunately people lost their lives.😢
Oh wow! I'm so sorry to hear that.
Idaho is a beautiful state Would love to visit someday
You absolutely should. 👍
I visit Idaho couple times a year especially to watch Boise St football but it is a very pretty state!!!!

Yes, I love the Air 2S but flight time is short. 👍
Nice vid! I stumbled upon this subdivision a few years ago just driving around. I’d wondered what the story was since. Damn shame.
Yeah, it was a crazy event. Thank you!
Interesting. The one house still standing... It like of looks like the one corner has collapsed a little bit? Hard to tell. Thanks for sharing Marcus!
Yes, I suspect that was the lone holdout from the settlement deal.
This was absolutely amazing. The clarity of the video is breathtaking. We're you using filters during this flight?
No filters on this flight. Thank you!
Comprei o meu no Aliexpress estou ansioso pra colocar a mão nele
It is a great drone! You will love it!
Did the no trepassing keep you from flying over Table Rock? It would have been cool to see the quarry.
I need to hike up there Bill! Are you coming with me? 🙂
Very interesting. Thanks for the info. Your right... we pay such exorbitant insurance premiums every year, and for what? When it's time for them to pay out they don't
They should just call it fire insurance. That's about all it covers.
that must been said for them there .give up ur home .thank you marcus for take time make good vid of drone
Thanks for watching Johnny!

I agree Del! Close to a Costco is a must have! 😂

We do get occasional earthquakes Dray although I do not believe that was a factor here.

If the choice is between the DJI Air 3S or the DJI Mavic 3 Pro, the Air 3S is more than capable for most drone operators.
Angle of repose in action
Yes, surely there must have been a way to predict that.
Geologic Survey and the City Engineer who mapped the street and location.
Yes, the blew it for sure.
Where do you get your intro's...?
I like them...
Thank you. I often get them done on fiver.
Wow, I didn't know that happened. ha.
Yes, it's pretty wild. No fun for the home owners!
Do you do your own intros? They are awesome.
Thank you Mario. I have them done. 🙂

Yes, I always wonder about those homes right on the river.
Los humanos nos creemos los dueños del mundo, de vez en cuanto nos da un toque para que despertemos
That is a fact!
I built the fence atound the house that slid down. I can tell you one thing, those were definitely not "poor folks".
I agree with you there. I still feel bad for anyone that lost there house though.
Marcus, what is the most unusual or interesting place or thing you have discovered flying your drones?
I had some great flights at the Oregon Coast recently. There are so many great places to fly!
My God, Marcus it sounds like home insurance over there is absolutely useless. In the UK, they would’ve been covered.
I agree. Homeowners insurance in the US doesn't cover much.
The Air 3 is all I have left
It's a great drone!
It’s a shame the city only settled with them for a split 250k that barely covers the costs
Yes, they got a rough deal. 👍

They sure got away with it on this development. Those homeowners got screwed.
I can tell you’re not from here lol
How can you tell?
@@IdahoQuadcopter it’s Boy-see, not Boy-zee, that’s how lol
