    Hi Susie I haven’t seen shin of beef with marrow bone in for ages. . I have shin of beef often , but never had marrow bone in it, it does look very tasty. Brill excuse for a drop of wine foe a chefs perk. Hehe.

      Definitely 😂😂, it has only being coming into our waitrose for about 6 months as they now do meets called forgotten cuts ! It is only in the Butchery counter it is never in the packed meets . Johns favourite for flavour xxxx

    I was lucky one time to be able to get shin beef but find it hard to source. Not available in any of my supermarkets and sadly local butcher closed down a few years ago. The depth of flavour you get from the shin or even oxtail is incredible. Another great vlog.

      Thank you Ellen , I was so surprised when Waitrose had it in on the butchers counter and they said they are promoting long lost cuts of meat ! I love it , hope it catches on and you will be able to get it xxxx

      Oh beautiful Ireland , my husband comes to Ireland for business and he loves it he has promised to take me just fitting it in xxxx

      I live in Cork as well, but I think it’s difficult to get these traditional cuts of meat nowadays. There’s not a lot of butchering done in shops nowadays, in a lot of cases it comes into butcher shops already cut .

      @finnualahanley2152 I cannot wait to visit Ireland it looks so beautiful! My Husband will be there in September but that is business so I have to wait until we can get over together to enjoy it and discover it . I agree that not many places seem to be selling it , we are very lucky with our Waitrose store and it has a proper butchery counter , I miss real butchers shops . Xxx

    Looks wonderful comforting food.
    All the meat that use to be cheap years ago when I was a kid has now become expensive.
    My dog would have loved those bones.

    Looks interesting. Not seen shin before and am a bit put off by marrow but this definitely looks nice! John is lucky and eats well! 😅

    • @cookingwithsusie
      @cookingwithsusie  10 месяцев назад +1

      Hi Dan, don’t fear marrow ! If you look it up it is great for our joints and bones , it is made up of collagen and glucosamine! Even without that though Shin meat is beautiful if cooked the right way , it is full of flavour and a lot of people have not had Shin but these cuts are making there way back to the shelves now . Thanks for watching and John knows he is quite spoilt 😂😂😂xxx

      @@cookingwithsusie thanks Susie. Might give this a try after all! BTW can I please request a southern fried chicken recipe 🤞? Did some in the air fryer over the weekend using an online recipe but the breading was very beige looking. Not sure it will work in the air fryer but would love to see your thoughts. Thanks!
