Which LEGO sets have the most steps? LEGO has released many big sets with thousands of bricks, but surprisingly, the largest LEGO sets are not always the ones with the most steps. In this video, I’ll reveal the top 50 LEGO sets that have the most steps. This list is based on the highest step number of each set. Do you have any of these sets? Let me know in the comments below.

Are we talking just numbered bags or the small bags inside the other bags as well
@@kalebgamez808 i would say numbered, the smol bags in the bigger bags could technically be removed(with those parts still in the big bag), it would just take a bit longer to sort/find pieces
I know it's not the most, but Rivendell has 49 bags just for reference
Eiffel Tower has the most with 74
The only two on this I've built is the treehouse which is a somewhat straightforward and fun build and and the D11 Bulldozer which almost broke my brain. Especially when I realized I made a critical mistake. Let's just say I'm thankful LEGO Technic pieces are somewhat fexible...
Lego is just such a incredible level of engineering and fun!

It used to be so much better, Lego is getting worse and worse. Many super good companies passed Lego in terms of quality builds

I've just finished building the liebherr crane and i can say it's one of the most difficult and tedious builds, but fun i've ever built. In the middle of it, i realised i place two pieces wrong, what made me redo almost half of it. However, once built, it looks awesome
Technic builds always more complex which means more satisfaction when done.
I'm genuinely surprised there's no Lego Art sets on this list given they're notorious for intricacies. I rly was expecting Starry Night & especially the World Map, so when I didn't see them I decided to look up their manuals.
Starry Night comes in at only 356 steps which was a shocker, but I was blown away to realize the World Map technically doesn't have any steps. The manual is just charts of 16×16 grids showing where to put what color round 1×1s.
yep, all the mosaics are like this - basically one step for each 16x16 segment (40 in case of the map, 9 on regular ones) and then a hand full for the frame. So technically the map has 53 steps; an average of 203 parts per step…
ironically the set with the most parts only has about 40 steps in instructions

actually you missed both the titanic and colosseum sets. titanic should be tied at 13 with 1086 steps, the number just resets after every book so it never looks like it reaches that high. and the colosseum like the titanic also resets after every book and lands itself actually at number 1 with a whopping 1996 steps in total

They did say in the beginning that they were looking at the highest 'step number' and not looking at total steps across the books for reasons.

What about the Lego's 2020 Colosseum set? It has four booklets. The first has 147 steps, the second has 667, the third has 598, and book four has 584 steps. That combines to make 1987 total steps.
actually doing the math comes out at 1996 but it should be at number 1 with that massive of an individual step count
The reason it's not added is because lego didn't add up the number across all and resets at 1 each book
I just built the UCS Razor Crest earlier this month. It took me 5 days of mulithour long bursts of assemblies. I did the last 2 books in one sitting. My sanity was slipping towards the end. It looks great though.
The Bricklink sets probably have higher step counts, because the instructions are digital and not printed, so it doesn't cost more to put more steps in.

The 60262 Lego plane set took me forever to build because the pieces were mixed up with others lol.

The Set I bough for my son last year just missed the top 50. It was the set 42128 (Heavy-duty Tow truck) ending at step 668. It took us a full day to build
In theory the 42098 should also be in this list with it's almost 800 steps, but Lego somehow decided that the car, the big rig and the trailer are separate enough or something and started counting from 1 for each.
It's a funny coincidence to come across this video after just having completed one of the sets on this list (the Milano spaceship, which is a great set by the way).

Unsurprisingly I have the top 5 of this whole list and let me tell you those top 3 are a doozy. The Venator takes SO LONG to do and it takes up such a large area for building xD

I kind of remember when sets used to have less than 100 steps, and back in the days when LEGO was simpler and less expensive.
Less expensive is a myth. I saw someone who researched this and they concluded that if you account for inflation, the average price per brick actually went down slightly.

Man of all those sets, the Hulkbuster is the one I want the most. I don't care for the hate, it looks so cool.
While it's definitely inaccurate, the fact that you can put the buildable Iron Man figure in it is pretty cool.
@theemmjay5130 I could care less about accuracy honestly. For me, though looks is a factor, fun is a priority for me over looks and accuracy. The thing looks cool, it seems fun to build, I just want it, I low key need it

A "step to part" ratio comparison may be a more accurate listing. Of course, if the #1 spot goes to a set with 50 steps to 100 parts (0.5), then I think there will be a lot of noise saying that the list is disappointing.
Was surprised to see the Hogwarts Castle not on the list as I've built that and it took ages, but then I looked at the step count and it doesn't even come close to this top 50! Crazy

NO dude 6600 pieces is nothing. I have finished a 12K pieces in 3 and a half full day. So trust me it's ok. 6k pieces can be assembled in less than 2 full days at very least

When I was little I had a massive London bridge Lego set
my first set was the 852 Technic Helicopter with 16 Steps for 365 pieces in 1978.

Hogwarts Castle has 811 but it restarts at 1 multiple times most notably between book 2 and 3
My friend bought a used ucs razorcrest that was half demolished. He asked me to put it together for him, i ended up taking what was left of it apart and organizing the pieces as best i could... never again.

You missed the titanic set which has 1082 (I think) steps and would be at 15th it’s split across 3 instruction books tho so it’s easy to miss

I have set numbers 31, 23, 20, 14, 5, 3 and set number 1 I'm buying next! Oh and at 10:03 you say this is the 2nd of these cars to be on your list, in fact it's actually the 4th, you already mentioned the Porsche at 31, Bugatti at 23 and the McLaren at 20, then this one the Lamborghini at 14, then finally the 5th car out of the 5 1:8 scale models currently out was the Ferrari at number 5 on the list.

@@fieldie it's actually interesting, how it went up for every new set and then way down for the McLaren. Removing the huge gearbox probably saves many one-piece steps.
@@kailahmann1823 but the P1 does still have a huge gearbox, it is different from the Lamborghini and Ferrari gearbox but still pretty big, and lots of steps to make sure everything is lined up, do you have them cars too?

Number of sets i have out of these: 1 (№9)
Bricklink designer sets shouldn't have been included since they're not official Lego sets and aren't available to a lot of people around the world. They could have been made as a separate list or as a sidenote. It undermines the integrity of this list.
Lego owns Bricklink and makes the Bricklink Designer sets.
@GoatzombieBubba so? They know bricklink is used by experienced builders so they can make this sets however sophisticated they wish, it wouldn't reflect the work on the main brand.

@@MrRamkema Its alot of steps u need to build twice. I think total is maybe 1500 or something. Hull pieces is an example.
Surprised to see the Titanic is not on this list.
A Lego error is on step 230 on the amazing spider man set (31209) there is an Lego piece (Lego piece 6181720) that shows we need to place it once but on the picture it is shown twice. (Just letting you know)
Eiffle Tower is at 47 which is understandable, condering how Lego just be funny and add 'x4" to all leg steps
