Thanks for the video. Here I sit, it’s 13 degrees outside and our furnace has stopped working. Every year for a few days of cold weather, our condensation line freezes somewhere, and each year our HVac person comes out after the fact and adds a heat tape our something else to line. I’ll have a better understanding this time around.
Sweet design! Wish my installer used ur design! Ill diy a copy if u dont mind. I had all the issues you described in my neg pressure setup. I found the drain vent wide open on the most humid day. I asked if that was on purpose and was ignored. Got so much water buuldup that it tripped the emergrncy shutoff multiple times (yes i cleaned it 4 times in 105F attic). I capped the vent but it got cooler so will see on next humid days if covering vent did the trick. My p trap is no where near 2 inches either!!!
Thanks for this video. I need to add a trap to my unit which is located in a closet. I don't have much room to design a trap system without blocking the air filter access. I could install it in the supply area below the unit but then my vent after the trap (cap with hole) would be installed in a negative pressure area. I assume that is not good. I can install it in front of the unit but then it would block the air filter. Using pvc unions might be an option. This would allow me to remove the trap for cleaning when replacing the air filter.
Cant find a good ac guy so I disconnected the line and went to home depo and bought a 5 gal bucked works great empty once a week during summer. saved me talking to hard heads wouldn't fix it and lots of wasted money.
Good video, my line currently is leaking into my crawlspace, i’d like to make a new one for it and I was wondering can I have it drain right to my sump pump basin which is only a couple feet away
Very good. A lot of installers don't know anything about drain lines or drain traps.
