I haven't built a kit for years (been meaning to start again for ages ...) but I remember having more fun modifying them with random spare parts than I did during the basic construction. You're right - who cares what the snobs say. The important thing is to have fun during the process and to be satisfied with the results. Who are you building it for, anyway - right? :-) I've always loved this kit and this vehicle - it would be great for someone to come out with an even larger-scale version, say 1/25 or even 1/16! I'm tired of the same old select few vehicles getting repeated over and over - these were the REAL workhorses of the war and should be represented a lot more!!
Wow, Great progress John. That didn't take you very long at all. At least there is some scope to make a few extras and personalise it. Great job on the radio and the seats, who would have thought that toilet tissue would make a great texture for the seats. Top tips there for future reference. Well I wish you the very best of luck with the rest of the painting and weathering. Have fun, Joe
Nice job! Just picked up this kit for $11 USD at hobby lobby 👍🏼
It is an old one but is still a good kit :-) J
