@@christiankreps5920 I had an advantage, the first day of Primitivo was more like day 25 for me as I had just walked from Lisbon to Santiago (Central Route) with only a day off in between to travel by bus from Santiago to Oviedo so my legs and feet were very warmed up 😊😊.
Much easier to watch in order. I’ll do this with all of them. I’m needing to start again with Salvador though as I’ve lost the original projects - oops 🙊 X
Thank you Nick for your summary video of the Primitive which I enjoyed watching with a glass of Rioja. I hope you will be buying a new pair of trail runners for your next one!
Haha. I put those in the garbage as soon as I arrived home before I walked back into my house. 😂😂. I purchased a whole lot of Altra shoes at half price so I’m covered for the next few years at least (no more if those Timp 4 though - far too fragile) 😊
Thanks Nick. When were you on the trail? I hiked it for the second time starting on the 21st of May and like you and like last year the Hospitales was shrouded in cloud. Pilgrims this year were probably double what they were last year, but it was still wonderful and like you I felt very privileged walking into Santiago. Also completed the Invierno. Finisterre and San Salvador and all were wonderful. I would recommend the Invierno if you like solitude. Most days not another pilgrim in sight until the albergue and great scenery. Never stop walking. Cheers Ken
Thanks Ken. This was mid to late June but it gives me reason to go back, and I actually loved the cloud too with it’s mysterious silence at times 😊 I had a very quiet time on San Salvador and only met 4 or 5 pilgrims during the entire Way. Thanks for the recommend of Invierno, it’s definitely on my wish list 😊😊😊
Hey thanks for watching it 😊😊. I’m going to do this with most of them I think if it seems popular. It’s certainly easier to watch it in the right order like this. San Salvador coming next 😊
Haha. I have shoes for my next 6 Caminos (I get them all at half price when a new model comes out so I have Altra Lone Peak 6 and 7s when the model for sale now is probably 8 or 9). That pair of Timp 4s went into my rubbish bin before I even set foot back into my house. 😂
Great video! Did you happen to do the hospitales on June 24? If so you may have passed me! I walked the Camino at around the same time as you and recognize some of the people in the albergue.
It was around that time I think as I got into Santiago again around July 1. Fantastic!! Hope you enjoyed it as much as I did. It’s become one of my favourite Caminos ever. 😊😊
Unicorns? Must have been the cloud and mist hiding them from me. Got surrounded by cows while having some lunch though - I think it may have been a mugging attempt 😂😊
Hi Grace, I booked the glamp site the night before, but there were many empty tents when I got there. Most pilgrims continue on to the usual "end of stage". The restaurant next door was nice too :) I also like to treat myself to a Hotel in Samos (an alternative route after triacastella). The hotel is called Fabrica and was really nice for the price. Everywhere else I like to find new places most of the time to make sure I've tried as many places as possible.
Thank you for sharing. I do have plans to detour to Samos 😊 I have so many thoughts going through my mind. It is exciting and, at the same time, a little daunting.
That's normal. Still happens to me too. The main thing is don't let your mind play tricks and make you put extra things in your pack in the last week before you go...I think everyone goes through this. Keep it all nice and light :) x
nick. where can I get more information on the primitivo. where to fly into where to start and the map..what trains or bus .. plan for August 25... ill start training.....
The best way is to get one of the apps like Buen Camino or Wise Pilgrim which will have LOTS of info. It starts in Oviedo which is a large city but best airports vary from flights in your country etc. I started after walking Camino Portuguese from Lisbon. It’s easy to get to Oviedo from Santiago or from Leon etc. Rome2Rio is also a great app for buses and trains but you need to put dates within 1 month of now or it looks like there are no buses and trains and they only put them up about a month in advance. 😊 I think from international I would maybe fly to Madrid, bus to Leon, have a few days looking around Leon then bus to Oviedo but there will be many other options which may suit you better. 😊
Thanks Alan. It’s been hard trying different things as I have many that agree with you and then others that say they like the music and the words. I’m going to try to do a nice mix of everything in the hope of pleasing as many as possible. I’m glad you enjoyed it, it’s a magical place and journey so it makes it so much easier to make videos. Next video will be instrumental 😊😊
Alan, I completely agree. I’ve just found your great videos. I so looking forward to listening to a British guy just doing his thang. But the music?? Oh my God. Please just instrumentals - I’m not a teenager breaking up from my first love. 🤣🤣
38k on day 1 is hard core!

Thanks, Nick. I added your adventure to my playlist "Camino de Santiago: documentaries".
@@scotbotvideos Thanks so much. I’m honoured to be part of the playlist 😊😊😊
@@NickLivingLife You're welcome. There's some famous hiking and Camino names on there.
Hi Nick, lovely to see your journey all in the one video. Great memories for you. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Maybe you are trying to do too much! Relax & take a breath. You will get it done when the time is right. Take care of yourself. 🍺

Greetings from Hemmo in Colombia! Loved the primitivo, that's gonna be my next one for sure.
Hemmo ! 😊. Primitivo is great 👍 Hope you are well my friend 😊😊
Thank you. I will walk primotivo next year.
You will love it 🥰😊
I was thinking that, too, until, that is, I saw the hike through the slurry pit. 😱
Haha. Horrible at the time but looking back it’s one of the memories that make me smile the most. 😂😂

Good video bro.Did the primitivo myself 2 months ago. Did you also see the unicorns on the hospitales?
Unicorns? Must have been the cloud and mist hiding them from me. Got surrounded by cows while having some lunch though - I think it may have been a mugging attempt 😂😊
Hi Nick😊 Thank you for all the videos. Did you need to book ahead for the glamp site as well as anywhere on the Camino Frances?

I am packed right now and keep wondering of less, not more. The rain pants feel heavy, 😄 although I don't think I want a rain kilt like yours.
Great compilation! I love how you butcher every Spanish village name, lol.
😂😂. It’s a talent 😂😂

10.28 minute… did you see that Irish guy and his son
We met and chatted on several occasions and then bumped into each other again in Santiago. 😊
Wonderful video! Not a fan of the music as I feel the vocals detract from the images. Maybe use instrumental instead? Other than that well done!

Sorry you didn’t enjoy it. Wishing you a wonderful next Camino 😊😊😊
