Not that I think it's bad, it's just I really feel like these arrangements tends to result in a lack of "emotions" (they're still good but I guess a bit bland/boring). From my experience of "sheet music searching", the conclusion I came up with is that these arrangements were made with the intention of letting a computer play it, not human. Another common issue with these kinds of arrangements are that although the notes "makes sense" (meaning they are making harmony), it's often feels weird physically when I actually try to play them by hand (again, because of the fact that they are "made for computer" not "made for human hands"). I also don't really want to accuse that but I often feel like those kinds of arrangements makes me feel like there is "less effort put in", as in it's so simple as if it's made for beginners (which I know you''re definitely not a beginner cuz your hand played Sukidakara was super good and complex enough). I've been wondering the reason why I didn't thought to point these out in 17さいのうた (since it's also made for computer play) and I think it's because that song is already very "chill" in instrumentals. Like the verse is literally just piano+guitar only and only on-beat. And the chorus is also piano+guitar with a little bit of strings (most obvious in the last chorus with the raised key). Hence, the cons of this kind of arrangement isn't that obvious, since the original song is already not that instrumental-heavy (the same logic could be used to explain why I didn't have too much of this problem with your 海のまにまに cover, although I still don't quite get why you didn't use the piano pedal for the video, but the sheet music was 10/10). However, in songs like 運命の人 where there is CLEARLY a lot more going on in the background like the drums, the cover sounds a lot more "insufficient" or in other words like I mentioned: "made for beginners". I also think maybe production time is a problem. I noticed that you posted this cover only a few hours after Yuika released the song. Again, I'm not trying to accuse anything but I do wonder maybe you were too "rushing" when making this cover. I've always been a person who views quality over time and I believe artists shouldn't ever race with time but instead is best if they put in their effort to make sure the art-piece is the best of the best. Like I believe with your wonderful talents and capability it is definitely not a problem for you to make something way more richer and interesting than this, and sometimes I get confused when I see you choose the other way (the speedrun way lol). Also clarifying about the word "too simple". For example I feel like the right hand of the chorus (0:37) is 90% of the time just a major 6th interval, and repetitively hearing that can create aesthetic fatigue. (But I do like it a lot that in the 2nd chorus you gave the right hand a lot more notes to make a contrast with the 1st chorus!). Or for example the left hand of the chorus is also just one or two note on each of the four beats, and repeating that for the entire chorus also creates the same problem. Another example would be the fact that the 2nd verse (1:01) after the 1st chorus in the original has way more complicated background (especially drums), but in the cover the 2nd verse is pretty much just a copy paste of the 1st verse (and emotion wise there is also little difference, as in the 2nd verse is as calm as the 1st verse where in the original the 2nd verse is a lot more lively with more drums and background than the 1st verse), and I really feel bad for what could've been an surprising change of left hand in the 2nd verse. One of the best example I found was the left-hand in measure 9-13 (0:18 - 0:28) and how it is exactly the same as measure 64-68 (2:17 - 2:32). If you listen to the original song, you would realize that your measure 64-68 left hand resembles perfectly with the only-guitar accompaniment during in original. However, it doesn't make sense how measure 9-13 has the exact same left hand than measure 64-68, because the emotion this song tries to express in these two different sections are VERY DIFFERENT. If you listen to verse 1 in the original, you would see that the guitar accompaniment a lot more complicated, and I think seeing measure 9-13 and 64-68 having the same left hand just makes me feel very weird (idk if u get it sorry if my explanation is bad). Idk... I'm really sorry if I offended you with what I said above but it is really just my most genuine feedback after listening to arrangements made by you and many other j-pop piano RUclipsrs. I really wish you could try to make 運命の人 again but make it more complicated and "less boring", and perhaps record yourself playing it (instead of computer played) like how you did with Sukidakara. But of course it's completely your freedom to do whatever you want on your channel. Also I'm sooooo sorry I wrote too much, I just really enjoy searching for piano covers for song, but I realize that for each song I always choose a different RUclipsr for the sheet music. Piano RUclipsrs that I've purchased sheet music from (and my favorite piece of theirs) includes @HalcyonMusic (Sentimental Crisis), @SLSMusic (炎), @herappe (アドべんちゃー), @Nicepianosheets (夜に駆ける), @RusPiano (紅蓮華), @Animenzzz (怪物), @marasy8 (前前前世, THIS GUY IS SO GOOD BUT HE NEVER SHARES THE SHEET MUSIC!!!), @cateen_hayatosumino (命の灯火). The thing is, all these are INCREDIBLE piano artists, and each of the pieces I associated with their @ are like just PERFECT in my opinion. However, every time I search for sheet music it's always a different person's cover that I liked the most. Take YOASOBI for example, Although pretty much everyone of them uploaded covers and sheet music for them, I took 夜に駆ける from @Nicepianosheets, 怪物 from @Animenzzz, 群青 from @herappe, たぶん from @SLSMusic, and ofc, 海のまにまに from @oldfrenchguy :)...etc. As you see there isn't really any pianist that I can be 100% sure I like his or her arrangemnt, but somehow I am just able to choose a favorite one from a sea of music sheets. This is why I kept wondering what is it that I am looking for when searching for sheets, and I guess today I was really feeling something to say that's why I wrote so long. Really sorry about it lol. My goal as a pianist myself is to one day not having to rely on any RUclipsrs for any sheet music, meaning I would be able to produce the perfect sheet music that satisfies all that I wish for, but it's really hard and I'm trying really hard to achieve that.
