Many thanks to Zee and the Dice Tower crew for the review!
I’ve played it. Very good game. Compelling theme and tons of depth.
Has DNA from L5R and Thrones. I do chuckle at the "similarity" being not much. Ironic considering Wizards patenting that mechanic some how. Good over view.
Looks great. Thank you Zee
Thanks for this one. Seems quite good. Would like to see a 2v2 option 🙂
Multiplayer is a thing, though it's individual 1v1v1v1, etc. However, a 2v2 option would be hella interesting, great idea! :)
Hopefully my copy arrives soon, hopefully if DT has a copy then us KS backers will get it soon.
Studio 2 has received their warehouse allotment and is processing through their system to get ready for fulfillment.
When Dice Tower phases in the cut for a game, you know there's a heap coming
This game and product is basically everything that the competitive FFG LCGs should have been.
Enough in the box for two players to build full decks, and since everyone has access to the same base cardpool, the designspace can open up and allow for ideas that would be impossible with the TCG component model of just a deck (and maybe a half) of cards plus dice.
I agree with Zee that it's the first TCG style card game in a long time that feels like a true evolution that can't be surmised as "Magic but".
I get a doomtown vibe....which could be good or not
I like the combat system, it does look like sword fighting. I wonder if the product itself accommodates the regular board gamer and has usable content for two players out of the box.
So the contents of the box consist of one full playset of each factions cards and a Double! playset of all neutral cards. It is a perfect setup for you I think.
Out of one box, I built one custom deck and two other decks from the deck lists included with the game. I think there's still more than enough there to build a deck for a fourth faction, as well as customize the two decks that were pulled from the provided deck lists. I need to find some time to do some more deck building.
@@tehsilenttubeyup, PBE did a great job. Other ECGs should take note. Don't make me buy multiple core boxes.
that actually sounds waaay better than what most LCGs do/did.
@@daem0nfaust that's because it is way better! ;)
These older games were super complex. Lol. The one that needs to be redone is warlord.
Current Doomtown (from the same company PBE) is also complex and much closer to the original Doomtown ccg, whereas this is quite different from 7th sea. I almost wish PBE would make a standalone less complex expandable card game in the Deadlands/Doomtown universe. Doomtown is awesome, but it fries my brain.
@@vliaskovI’ve played doomtown. Loved the theme but I refuse to teach it. Same with netrunner and l5r. I agree wish they made a more streamlined version of doomtown.
@@exiledsonofhawaii3934 off topic for 7S5S - but for Doomtown - I've got a 20 minute demo that I'm writing up that walks through most of the key points that I'm writing up for Pine Box's blog posts. It's scripted (fixed hands and walkthrough of specific actions and plays) to focus on key game elements. I've found that 'here is your deck, here is mine, let's play to be the worst way to TEACH a game.
Actually Warlord is being redone, I can’t post a like it seems but you can search for warlordsots by kingswood games
Lol, if you like beer games this one’s not for you. To much thinking involved.
