Dan, any chance you could go over / short video on the gear you use/prefer? I’m Pacifically interested in your were speargun, size , accessories, how those accessories are attached. Great video as always 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Your videos are very nice, but it would be nice to see fewer videos of the ascent time, after your catch, and more videos of the fish on your boat. To really understand their size and length.Best regards
Yo Dan! Two questions, 1) How are you attaching those ppd's to your gun (specifically behind your pistol grip)? 2) How do you fit your nuts in them dive shorts? Another awesome video! Thanks, CT
Brad, I don't ever dive off an anchored boat. We have dual engines and motor dive, using the engines to drop and stay in the proximity of the spot. Appreciate you watching, Best, Dan
@@danmacmahon3973 awesome ty for response. I typically cant see anything machine wise while travelling at higher speeds. It's mostly white noise and interference.
Ty, the front clips are made from the Delrin tracks that Neptonics sells. Make sure you use 2 small screws per side and use a heat gun or hair dryer to adjust it for a perfect fit. The rears are a custom piece we make ourselves. Best, Dan
DPT, it's an Aluminum casing, machined to fit a rifle cartridge. Commonly called a "slip on' powerhead. The spear point acts as a firing pin. Usually used for self protection or for larger fish in deep water. Best, Dan
@@danmacmahon3973 Those are pretty damn slick. I saw you use one on a bull shark in a video the other day. Nice to have them when you need them. I expected them to be a lot louder than they are. very nice. I would also like to see your gun set up. Looks really efficient.
Parker, it's a custom 44' Tempest. I like the Parker, a buddy had a 25" (deep V model) and it was a good boat all around. Good luck with acquiring one! Best, Dan
David, they're 10 year old A B Billers.....pretty stiff for a plastic fin and they fit me perfectly. Thought about trying some newer high tech stuff but never have! Best, Dan
Brad, uh yeah. 250' with a 3 minute profile. Humanly and instantly dispatched the fish. I guess you could keep pumping in shafts and prolong it, but why? Would put the diver in more danger and prolong the fish'es suffering. Best, Dan
JC, no it was too deep for Nitrox. I probably used a light Helitrox blend for the main. Anyone diving over normal recreational should absolutely take all the advanced diving courses that are offered. Deep Diving is a higher risk sport and you can't know too much! Glad you enjoyed the video! Best,Dan
Cod, I def agree , spear fishing with Oxygen tanks would be extremely dangerous and depth limiting. You'd have to stay under 14' to not risk Oxygen Toxicity. Thanks for watching, Best, Dan
@@danmacmahon3973 I don't know in what country are you spearfishing in but I hope the government allows you to spearfish with scuba gear at least. In Italy for example, from where I came, you are allowed to spearfish in apnea holding your breath but it's strictly prohibited to spearfish with scuba tank. Great videos, if you could add pictures of the fish while on board at the end that would be great.
John, I'm def going to do that in future videos. Thanks for watching, Best, Dan

That’s one way to chum up a spot for a back dive! Good shooting as always
LW, always interesting going into a bait ball, never really sure what might be in there with you! Best, Dan
Wow! Should've called this one "The Purge", lol!

CT, it's a custom piece I came up with years ago. When I can, I'm going to do a video on how to make one. I really can't explain #2 ! lol Best, Dan

great viz and flat seas at 12;36 when you can see your buddy grab the fish top side!

Dan MacMahon awesome!
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN DIVING? LOOKS LIKE YOU WERE BORN ON THE BOTTOM❤️🇺🇸
Great video! Always a pleasure watching you work. If I may ask what bottom machine do you use? Transduecer?
DT, my main bottom machine is a Garmin 8616xsv with an airmar ss264N Transducer. I run it on 200 khz and do not utilize the Chirp Feature. Best, Dan
