Good video, love the attention to detail. The splines were snapping because of the grain direction. You want your grain length ways. Still a pretty box regardless!

Thanks for the advice! I really appreciate it! Looking back, that makes a lot of sense because they kept snapping with the grain. I’ll try it length wise next time 😁

Well done. I look forward to more videos. (I should warn you, the RUclips trolls will start giving you crap pretty quickly because you're not wearing eye and ear protection.)

I appreciate it! I try to wear them as often as possible. But They wouldn’t be in the wrong! I should probably start making that a habit 😅

Good stuff. Never have I seen splines done that way and I go back to the early days of Norm in the New Yankee Workshop. Easier than building a jig for the same results. Had to give up a lot of stuff to do a move. Looking to start over and enjoy the easy uncomplicated builds. Keep up the good stuff. Thanks.

Very cool! There’s probably a ton that we can all learn from you as well! So please feel free to give tips whenever you see fit.

I also learned that spline trick from someone else on RUclips! I can’t remember who I was watching, but it makes splines so much easier!

Yes, yes, I'm still here. Had problems with my PC. Knew this could happen soon and I started by saving my files to an extern harddrive but ...... then the PC crashed and lost a lot of files, so I had to buy a knew one and had to install all my software. Enough about my problems ...... now onto yours 😄. (kidding).
Nice box (and your wife is curious what kind of jewelry you are gonna put in it for her). I like you're still doing beginners stuff and not trying to make something that's (still) out of your league. The things you made until now ..... I am enjoying it because (as you will know) I'm a beginner too. Btw. thanks for the metric besides the imperial but it's not necessary. The dimensions of the things you make I can make up myself (and it' saves time you don't have to calculate from imperial to metric).
Again, enjoyed your clip/effort and thanks. 'Till the next project.
    Greetings from the Netherlands.

I’m sorry all of that happened to you! But I’m glad you’re back! If you ever have an idea or something that you want to see I would be happy to make it!!

Great Video, spline could have broken due to the grain, or even if not fully glued? but great to watch....keep em coming.

Thank you! When you add glue, do you usually try to over glue it?
