2022. Bought this from the original Dub Vendor shop back when it was first released. Love it even more nowadays as this sort of quality, sadly doesn’t exist anymore.
@@dia.6213 This is early 70s riddim, re-released in 1979. Big Youth's cut must have came out in 1973. One of the first major hits for Leroy Smart, a few years before his mega hit, "Ballistic Affair" in 1976.
@@56postoffice An early 70's riddim ? Impressive. I must check more of Gussies productions.......even Youth's vocals sound advanced ( sounds like late 70's vibe ) .
@@dia.6213 I read somewhere that this was originally produced by KC White. Gussies stole it from him. That's the vicious dog eat dog world of Jamaican record producers.
This brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it. Leroy's voice.........aw man so pained. A wicked classic.

1979 not 1972
This UK 12'' is from 1979, this side is the original cut of this song recorded in 1972
Ahead of it's time then......it's got a 1979 production sound .......doesn't sound like an early 70's sound , if you know what i mean
