People who have doubted Wong-Orantes' inclusion in the Olympics squad should watch this again. She is a gold medalist in 2020 and made some incredible saves then. Coach knows that she will step up to the task and help the team as much as she can. USA look more dynamic today. Still no Poulter and Plummer--are they injured? I'm a big fan of USA and Japan. I love both team♥️. Hall improved a lot. She's fast and aggresive at the net. And of course A. Skinner, my gawd such a powerful attacker. Hope Hall and Skinner will be part of the lineup for the 2024 Paris Olympics🙏.
I love Japan but they have some serious work to do to get past the quarterfinals. Specially Koga, I noticed that in recent games of the VNL. More often than not, her hits are either blocked, dug, slowed off the block not resulting in a point. The taller teams are adopting to their style so they need to adopt more to the taller teams as well. More faster sets, more variations and more combinations. I hope they figure this out. Hoping for a podium for my favorite Japan team. 🇯🇵🎌❤️

Think about how three out of the last four Olympic finals was decided between this two team and also an countless number Grand Prix too. So the boo to the USA team especifically is a way to express this rivalry. I don't like either but in this sense you could even see as a honour.

I appreciate the Japanese crowd, they cheered their team but showed slot of respect to the other team…always graceful. I think usa team will be better when drews plays the whole match like this, she is very efficient! She made onky one error. Carlini was digging balls like a libero. The team looked very relaxed, despite the scare of not making the final week…they need the extra games. I Think obogu is on the team due to her experience alone, but clearly thats both the right decision. Hopefully, plummer and poutler are okay

After the disastrous loss with the Italian Champs the US team made some changes and did their very best to win against Japan and that's a big achievement since Japan has been very hard to beat recently, I feel sorry for Japan
