Hello Jeff! You showed a nice lot of K GV stamps. As you said, they are in good condition, and some of them were also well centered. I guess the flowers in the top corners are wattle flowers? The surcharged stamps were originally red 1 and a half pence, while the other red stamps not surcharged are 1 pence. Are there 1 and a half pence red stamps that were not surcharged? @@adamhuffman3354 Guernsey lily? I thought they were wattle inflorescences, and wattles are indigenous to Australia, and alien invaders in South Africa. But, I am not a plant expert at all!!!
@@jokjones1 yes that is correct -they were issued less than 12 months after the Australian Kangaroo and map stamps :) -the Kangaroo and Map stamp took over from the Colonial state stamps and was Australia’s first definitive stamp

Yea the guernsey lily is native to South Africa.

GG V red 1penny were issued Dec 1913. All other KG stamps followed in 1914.
