Much gratitude for this video. Im a novice and because the video was so clear and concise, it gave me the confidence to take on the job. I replaced a wiper motor for an 03 Ford Focus tonight and it went without a hitch! Your video was textbook! Thank you!!
Done and done. Great video. Most annoying thing was removing the plastic windscreen cowlings without damaging all the pop rivets (broke a few sadly, your video doesn't even show/mention them) . Wiper blade removal was helped by gently lifting with a pry bar and taping the partially removed nut (protecting the threads) with a hammer. Worked a charm.
You made it look so easy, taking the wiper arms off. Took me 2 1/2 days one of the most frustrating things. I think I’ve ever done mechanically wise, but I did get it💪lots of perseverance. Little bit of yelling. Lol.. thank you for the good video. I think the reason why it was so hard is because the car was located by the ocean. For quite some time. Salt air is no good
What do you recommend for a when the retaining bolt (you know the one between the linkage arm and the motor that the motor pivots it from) comes loose? My wipers have twice stopped working because the bolt came loose and i tighten it the very best i can
For anyone struggling pulling those arms off, I was able to do it by using the back side of a hammer. Just make sure to put a piece of wood or something soft on the underside so as not to damage the windshield.
Justin Kamerer get a decent wiper arm puller. If they are really rusted on, you will need one to break the hold and lift it off with no damage. I bought the fit tool one from Amazon, about 35.00. I liked that it has a 13mm socket head and not that thin metal t-bar which bends under torque. Yeah, it costs a little, but makes life so much easier,. Good tool to have.
I had to really beat mine off. But when putting them back on I noticed that pushing down on the joint makes the hole line up straighter with the bolt. So push down on the joint while simultaneously pulling up on the very back end(right next to the bolt) and that should help.
Tip - make sure you remove the link bolt first before you remove the three bolts securing the motor, otherwise you will have a very hard time getting leverage to remove that center bolt.- the video shows that correctly. Just saying if you don't do in that order you may make it very hard on yourself.
I've just gotten a 2016 Focus SE 2.L engine . I'm not sure what it's called the part that the arm is mounted on ? That's what is broken . Need to replace it . Yeah just got it and it rained and it was jerking not smooth working and finally stopped working . Took a look and was taking off arm and noticed it was moving too much . yeah the mount is broken . I guess that's what its called ?
My wife has a 2006 focus. Today when she was in her car the wipers would move only a few inches when turned on, I can hear the motor moving as well. I manually try to guide the wipers while it is on (up and down) but they won't move no further. The day before it rained all day. Then overnight it went way below zero with a high wind chill. Is it possible that there may be Ice down in the motor linkage area below the cover making the linkage unable to move freely? Never had a wiper problem like this before. Any ideas Please would help!! Also the wipers itself are Not frozen to the windshield.. Thank You.
+JPC Unfortunately we cannot really accurately diagnose that. We would advise you take it to a trustworthy mechanic in your area that can look at it in person

The title and description are a bit conflicting. Does this video apply to the 2008 design?
Thank you for this video.

You don’t need to remove the shield to remove the entire wiper assembly. Just pull it forward
great video
