You know what, this album is full of her amazing vocals & arrangements and interpolates folk, pop, soul, neo soul, and R&B, and all the tracks are WRITTEN & co-written by HER. And legendary ANITA BAKER approved this performance. Phenomenal.
“The way they just sit back and relax in the pocket, I wish I could sing like that” 💯 that last song fills me up too, seeing her being able to insert some smiles in a piece that takes her through the roughest part of her grief. Yesterday on ig she announced going on tour in spring 🥳
I really relate when you say “I am scared to be here” because yeah… felt. She’s so good that it is physically painful/upsetting to listen to her at times.
Just discovered your channel and LOVE ❤️ LOVE ❤️ LOVE ❤️ your reactions and analysis of Yebba. Her Tiny Desk performance has me in a chokehold that I DON'T want to be released from. Her voice and ability to tell stories with it is like a drug...and I'm hooked! This woman truly is in a class of her own.
Yebba is so great and her voice is so full of texture and resonance and lively highs! It takes you on a journey. It makes you wonder how she plans the song note for note! How? What was flowing in her head? Just wonderful and God-given! I love her so much!
We understand Yebba's artistic approach and her involvement in the arrangements, this artist is blessed by the goddesses of music... I love it... Thank you for your constructive analysis👋👌🎶🎶🎶😘
So glad you did this! I *love* your reactions to her, and i was really hoping you’d do this one She’s a f***ing force. So unbelievable technically, but I never feel like the goal is just ‘watch me be impressive’ it always feels like she’s following what she feels and hears in the song, and these runs & textures are just the paths that open up for her when she does that. I really feel things when she sings, every time. Honestly though, if you dig into the lyrics of these songs w the context of her life, they’re all worth getting emotional over. except distance. distance is just about the love 💗 Imma stan yebba forever. thanks for doing another react to her! if there’s a single thing of hers you haven’t seen - her live october sky or something? - check it out! Also not a video, but her track My Day Will Come on james francies’ (the keys player here) album is an absolutely unbelievable vocal masterpiece 😮
I stumbled on her yesterday with my mind. I am absolutely floored.. she is amazing. Now I’m going down the yebba rabbit hole. I’m loving your reaction to her.❤
I felt so flabbergasted after watching her tinydesk for the first time I literally just had to sit and try to process what I had just witnessed. It was that good.
Bro this is like my 100th time watching your reaction to this and at 4:31 it reminds me of the exact first time and reaction I had to this month's ago. She's a beast.
I actually really really enjoyed you following along. Love Yebba so much, must've listened to this tiny desk on repeat, so much better than the album versions imo
The Background is a three part harmony with Yebba, they phrase it as one chord, kind of like how Lalah Hathaway did with "Something" but in reverse, taking one phrase projecting it as a three chord harmony from one vocalist.
I love what you pick up on love! You keep doing you with these reactions. It's like everything else. Listen and repeat over and over and over for months to years and over time....she became Yebba.
Your reactions are so correct, we have followed this artist since her beginnings and we are charmed each time so much her talent touches us, her album is magnificent I recommend it to you. Thank you, because you can put it forward. Hello from France 😊🎄🎄🎄🎶
I’ve been watching your reactions for years. They are the best! I o my watched her tiny desk performance yesterday. Was shook!!! She is so underrated 🥵
wow I asked for this mos ago but Im glad you got to it! I love Yebba or Abbey Smith I think she is a great vocalist and stylist. Her tone and vocal agility are as you stated reminds me of Jasmin. I was away and dint get to this sooner but thank you young man for reacting to this. As always much love to you and yours and stay safe!
Hold the heck on! Is this a beautiful singer, a female singer that sings beautifully too, and yet does it with all of her clothes on?! And yet, I love her and her talent is incredible.
Finally...and thank you!!! I love her album, but hearing her sing live is just a cut above it all. So good! Common now. You just need to listen to her, and your ear will adjust. I have heard you sing, you will get it, you can capture her runs. She is different, your ear needs to get used to her flow.
Yo yo, i’m commenting on this old video but i gotta know if you’ve seen/heard yebba’s live EP - she’s got 4 videos out of her singing stuff and it’s incredible!
Distance is a top down, sunroof open, Coast, Country Road, Open Highway by yourself with a smile drive song, definitely not for indoor use,(NO TEXTING, NO VOICEMAIL, NO SPEAKERPHONE, NO AIRPODS) Just in the DISTANCE
You crack me laughing, and you are not a foul trying to reach perfection, are we all. Just keep trying, skill is earn and it doesn't come easily or find on street side. Peace brother, just live to the fullest, and let no one tell you can't do this or what, you are catching up to Yabba soon.
Hey man.. um trying to paint a picture. Because I feel your emotion on this.. because I have it. I'm a strong, construction worker that can get goosebumps from this AND death metal. Idk what's wrong with me. I grew up with r&b and soul influences and graduated to some metal in my adulthood. Its crazy to me on the range I have personally. Yebba is an amazing artist man. I get close to the same energy from Whitechapel "I will find you" . If you are interested. I mean... I sang some Usher "gotta let it burn" as the lead singer...with my black friends in 6th grade talent show, I had on platinum fubu. AND... I love death metal. I dont know if you can feel me 🤣🤣
The song stay on comes from a song that she already did with mark Ronson but she just took the song and extended it out more and has more lyrics and a slower the other one was a damn
Hey brother, last week on The Voice, Wendy Moten covered "You're all I need to get by" the classic Motown song and its one of the best things ive ever heard in my life. Please check it out if you get a chance.
Yebba and Jazmine Sullivan got the type of riffs and runs that triggers violence and anxiety. It creeps up on you so fast
Literally lol
Omg for real!! And you can hear every note the hit in each run😩😍
Need a duet 😭😭
😆😆😆 such a good description!
I LOVE how when you hear one of THEIR riffs & runs you KNOW it’s them!
Yebba said, YALL GONNA HEAR THIS THROAT! And the background left NO CRUMBS!!
Facts!!
Background earned that DAMN CHECK!!
She showed them the zeros and everything fell right into place from there lol
Elevated it all!
You are catching all those runs! Don't think we don't hear YOUR ear on all of these. She truly is a singer's singer.
Haha thank you :)
Not the…. “Cus we wont move nowhere. Ya’ll can all walk, we be on this bus forever” 🤣 I will sit on this Yebba bus wit’cha”

Well put you. Xx

You represent us on so many levels
The whole thing was amazing, but that last song was just beautiful. Gorgeous

Yebba is out there the big corps wouldn’t be able to control her, no one should even try she’s a truly free spirit! One of the greatest ever!
You got me laughing out loud. "She said I bet you do that" bwahaha. she's a beast. love your reactions
I'm on the bus for the whole ride!! All I Ever Wanted is my favorite but she went off!!
Stand is a rework from her song with Mark Ronson called 'When You Went Away'!
so yeah, IT IS familiar!
as a Yebba stan of course
God I love that song
Her voice invokes such a raw visceral reaction in me
Love it when others appreciate Yebba as much as I do. She is ridiculous!
Best reaction to this song hands down. Thank you.
Her album is out, it’s called dawn.
The Background is a three part harmony with Yebba, they phrase it as one chord, kind of like how Lalah Hathaway did with "Something" but in reverse, taking one phrase projecting it as a three chord harmony from one vocalist.
Track #2 gives me 90s Lalah vibes
Yes yebba ain’t nothing to play with😮💨😍❤️
You're absolutely right, we're connected to her, it's the magic
👍🎶😊
OMG, i'm dead! "I swear i'm gonna smack somebody".............
Trying to cover a YEBBA song has to be like training for the vocal Olympics 😂😂🤣
I love what you pick up on love! You keep doing you with these reactions. It's like everything else. Listen and repeat over and over and over for months to years and over time....she became Yebba.
I love your reactions!
You can tell this girl was brought up on gospel!
Sensational, love Yebba. I only heard of her recently when an awesome kid called Arlo Sim covered one of songs here in Australia. She is so amazing!
She is so brilliant!
Your reactions are so correct, we have followed this artist since her beginnings and we are charmed each time so much her talent touches us, her album is magnificent I recommend it to you.
Thank you, because you can put it forward.
Hello from France

"I'm scared to be here" literally she's an absolute talent
That space bar is TIRED 😂
hahahaha
Hold the heck on! Is this a beautiful singer, a female singer that sings beautifully too, and yet does it with all of her clothes on?! And yet, I love her and her talent is incredible.
Goofy aah
The rough of her voice is unique!
You can’t beat up your new setup because she’s awesome 🤩
My man! Thanks for this I can't wait to watch. Been waiting for this one. Much love.

Finally...and thank you!!! I love her album, but hearing her sing live is just a cut above it all. So good! Common now. You just need to listen to her, and your ear will adjust. I have heard you sing, you will get it, you can capture her runs. She is different, your ear needs to get used to her flow.
This was worth the wait🙌🏻
PS have you seen the video of evergreen live where she got mad at the backgrounds and made them redo it 😂 she's not playin
Yep it's on my playlist :)
I'm an old lady trapped in a millennials body but I'll try to find it 🙃👍🏻
So so good xo
Yo yo, i’m commenting on this old video but i gotta know if you’ve seen/heard yebba’s live EP - she’s got 4 videos out of her singing stuff and it’s incredible!
"Stand" sounds so familiar because it starts the same as that song she did on the Mark Ronson album.
Actually, it's the same damn song (I just relistened to it)!
Amazing mashup

❤
The background singers were the co-stars
Have you reacted to October Sky (live), its quite lovely.
Not sure but I did react to that song or video if there was one
And you need to stop Mr. you have a beautiful voice! ❤

Amazingggg!!! 💙 can you please review Shine on by Luke James ft Samoht
Yebba makes me wanna fight somebody cause she’s so good!
15:15 is Definitely a Clark sister run. Sounds just like Dorinda
The song stay on comes from a song that she already did with mark Ronson but she just took the song and extended it out more and has more lyrics and a slower the other one was a damn
Lol. Yes, same song...just slowed down live.
Love your video , can you go chech one show go video , like desire or like fallings stars 🔥🙄
Can you react to JP Cooper "Holy Water"(Gospel Choir version) please?
Why the video is dark and blue????
Because I would get a copyright strike if I didn't filter it
Hey brother, last week on The Voice, Wendy Moten covered "You're all I need to get by" the classic Motown song and its one of the best things ive ever heard in my life. Please check it out if you get a chance.
I've been watching the voice every epsidoe in fact her not winning is ridiculous. After her somewhere over the rainbow it should have been case closed
She is and okay singer in my opinion
She copied alot of blk artist with her rifts and runs including jasmine Sullivan alot of them do Caucasian artist
Nah. She's mimicking the greats like the Clark Sisters but her voice her own
She's PK and cited The Clark Sisters and Aretha Franklin as her main influences. She and Jazmine are just about the same age.
One of my favorite reactions / reviews!!!
Thank you so much ❤️
You have to react to her 2016 performance! I mean, you don't HAVE to, but you kind of do. ruclips.net/video/MUrdV9I5llM/видео.html
