Keeper now SUCKS. They lock you up now and hold you ransom for $35 a year. So get up to date. I've used them for years and now I can't add or modify anything unless I pay up. What a crock of shit.

What about KeePass? Free has no paid versions, has browser and android extensions. All data is stored on your own device.

@@AndreasDelarmy You would need to handle the syncing yourself. Either copy the vault manually, or use a cloud service to do it for you.

In terms of security, how do you perceive the C2 Password Synology password manager and is it a suitable choice for personal use?

In terms of security, it's tough to beat. You have your choice of 2-factor options, even at the free tier. You can set it up so you only log in with a passkey, if you prefer. Of course, it's protected by AES-256 symmetric encryption, and Synology doesn't have the keys. Assuming your master password is strong, your vault is safe.
For personal use, it's more than adequate. In my experience, it's about as usable as Bitwarden (the browser extension is nearly as good), but doesn't require a subscription to use all of the (single-user) features. If you want to go with their family plan, it's the least expensive one I'm aware of. $5 per year covers 6 accounts, and they can share a vault. I do have some minor gripes, though. First, secure notes are a bit limited in size, compared to the competition. Second, your TOTP seeds need to be formatted correctly. Just typing the seed in doesn't cut it. You need to enter the entire "otpauth://totp/..." sequence. Third, there is a hard cap to the number of entries you are allowed to have. 10,000 entries is huge for 99.9% of us, though, but you never know. I don't believe the browser extension has any rt-mouse-click options, unlike Bitwarden or Zoho Vault. It's tough to beat these 2 in that particular area of functionality.
So the service is not the absolute best, but it's a great balance at an even better price, and it's very secure, as far as I can determine.

There is no 2FA manager in the personal plan version and only in the business version. It is a dealbreaker for me and i won't be getting it.
