This video no matter in what sense is well-made. Plus the execution were well done and well explained. Also improvised. Be it in a competition or not, it good for defense purpose. Thanks for sharing this vid. For ignorant people, even knowing is not enough. Practice makes perfect.

@androsfinx There is no assumption that anything he is showing is exclusively Russian. He just has to clarify that any variation that a traditional student of Kodokan Judo may see here, is not to be perceived as a dereliction of proper technique. There are such occurrences with other styles like Karate, specifically Shotokan from Okinawa versus the United States...where the closing of the fingers to make a fist, has the index finger strait at the distal joint, while under the thumb. (Example)

@FJoeForty but he is saying that he shows exclusive russian judo tehniques, at 1:17.

I suppose i sound angrier than i should. If you wrre just highlighting differences in Russian training and tendencies i wouldn't mind so much, but it REALLY sounds like you're promoting this as a new variety of judo which i hope you do not

    So:
'I donmt grab the lapel as default therefore i've invented new judo'
This is still Kodokan Judo. Kodokan Judo is the only type of judo and your vein efforts to give it a different style that's supposedly different from 'traditional japanese judo' only solidifies this.
Do you still use kuzishi? Do ypu still practice tsukuri? Do you not stop at kake? Do you follow seiryoku zenyo and ju yoku go wo seisu? Yes? Then you're doing Kodokan Judo
I wear a blue gi, does that mean i've invented a new style of judo?
I aim for submission on the ground rather than pinfall, should i dub this 'english style judo'?
    No, because it's Kodokan Judo.
I can't believe so,ebody with a black belt claims to have made or to be a part of a new style of judo (which is conveniently named after their country) and all they can show for it is 'sometimes i reach over their shoulder'
Are you serious? The reason Brazillian Jiujitsu isn't called 'judo' is because they look at different positions on the ground and they don't apply so much judo to the tachiwaza with great detail. They didn't just go 'yo man i do Brazilian Jiujitsu it's tots differet from judo, look i like to grab them on both lapels occassionally'
    Are you serious?

but then we have also Kosen Judo so.....
bjj is Brazilian judo after all..
point here is, this russian guy added some Georgian wrestling techniques to his arsenal, so this isn't pure Judo, also Russians tends to cross train between Judo-Sambo-Wrestling since USSR years.
so again they have that mind where you can mix techniques from one other style.
or maybe now you can say that Igor's wrestling takedowns are also from Judo?
      morote gari?
ok that is the double leg takedown which was a Greek invention, way more ancient than Judo or Jujutsu.....
      so what we talk about?
