Everything went viral after their biggest hit "Love scenario" but B.I had a huge scandal for which he had to leave the group to not hurt other members. They are both doing well right now, but it still breaks my heart when I think of them as 7. They would have been "one of the biggest yg male group" after bigbang but argghh why did B.I have to leave?? They had to go through survival shows twice to debut, they produced their own music, they were even charting well in 2015 and won several rookie awards in 2015, but later they lost majority of their popularity because they took a huge hiatus from 2016 to early 2017 and they were called "YG'S huge embarassment" from kpop fans. Most of the ikon's songs were made by B.I (their leader), now it is mostly done by Donghyuk and Bobby. They went viral in south korea after their biggest hit "Love scenario" in 2018 and they won so many awards for this one song, B.I even got the "Song writer of the year" award and we ikonics were finally happy for them. I still remember how things went down after B.I left, many ikonics left the fandom, everyone hated him in south korea for a "drug scandal" and he had to leave the group to not hurt other members, now B.I is a soloist under his own agency and Ikon continues as a group under 143 entertainment.
I wouldn't call it a sad story for iKON tbh. I have been an iKONIC from 2019 and I think iKON has been thriving even now. They got their highest physical album sales with the latest album also. And now the members are also releasing solo music soon.
