I was horrified to see those horrid weeds coming through the cardboard.
But it is indeed easier to weed, and I can tell they are weaker than the weeds that come out of the none cardboarded areas.
Thank you for sharing your experiences with weeds.
    Happy plotting 😀

We moved into our house 15 years ago. We have a small garden, maybe 5 x 10m. It was covered in 10 foot high Japanese knotweed along with nettles. It took a lot of patience and persistence to clear it. Every time a head poked up I cut it off as far into the ground I could go. Now we have no nettles and when the odd knotweed pokes it's head up its lopped off. To be honest my biggest problem is the neighbours sycamore tree, every spring my harden is literally covered like a lawn in tiny sycamores.😢 It's a good job we all love gardening 😊

      Wow. You've had it bad!.
I think gardening is 70%weeding 😂. 20% slug and pest damage and 10% enjoyment 😂😂

Thank you for sharing this I have marestail and bindweed amongst others especially on my new plot. I picked a whole bucketful today on my first plot I think with all the rain it’s doubled this year . On my new no dig allotment it’s popped up everywhere including other weeds I’m so disappointed but I’ll keep pulling and digging them out 😢

Just keep going. You're doing great 👍. Weeding will always be a part of growing food. Not a part we all want, but it will always be there

I try and do what you do and weed areas when I’m down at the plot and try not to stress about it

Mares tail roots could go down 1 metre (3ft) its an awful weed, the more you take out the more you weaken it, I always keep on top of them, my no dig raised beds have one or two coming through easily picked out, see a weed take it out. Steve

Mares tail is a nightmare it was around when the dinosaurs were around and the only way to try stop it is keep pulling it up as soon as you see it and in about 30 years you wont see as many of them, And make sure you pick up every piece of it of the ground, Dock leaf comes in handy if you run out of you know what Lol lol lol 😁😊

That's exactly how you should think 😊. Any removal is progress. Keep pulling and moving forward 👌
