I know Lowko is self conscious but his accent, personality, uplifting mood and general voice tone is very comforting to listen to. Like Bob Ross, he's truly gifted at describing the art of StarCraft 2. I can follow along with the matches while working perfectly fine and notice the shift in big plays simply by his expert analysis.

I didn't realize he was self conscious about the accent. As an American I can say that lowko falls in the category for 90 percent of accents "smart" sounding. Everything European or adjacent sounds sophisticated and nice to most people in the USA. I guess because of our media? Scientists almost always have an accent

I'll buck the trend: I put Lowko on in the background when I actually need to get work done. It's been very helpful when I'm doing really rote tasks, like tearing out the windows in my hallway. That's not to say that I don't listen to SC2 videos to fall asleep - GGG's videos, for example, are a staple when I'm trying to get up early for work the next day.
That sleep commentary really got me lol, this is definitely part of my sleep routine from time to time but in my defense I watch at the very least half of the video cause I love it and I start imagining the game in my head with my eyes closed

Also, on a less joking level, video games aren't as popular in the US, and the ones who do play are much more casual. So the lower apm options will always be more popular, and 'toss has less spell castors that you need to get the ultimate DPS out on the board, and also the most powerful turrets in the game.
