In IT in general, there are way too many incompetent people making decisions for the competent ones lower down the hierarchy, and making their lives a hell. (BTW, I wrote Kikstart II for the Amiga, and Rockford for the Amiga, both while employed by Icon Design).

Exactly. What's just as bad is the reply, by so many of today's young idiot programmers (i.e. script junkies), that 80's assembly language games programming must have been easy because the CPU instructions were (cough) "simple". They also have absolutely no concept of what it was like to be at the forefront of personal computer programming...with not internet to provide immediate and unlimited access to docs and examples, or no stackexchange/stackoverflow to eagerly provide answers to all your problems.
