I am sober for 27 months today, and this gem came up! Elliott's songs was always a friend, both in active addiction and now in sobriety, but today I’m lucky to be alive and well, after the severe alcoholism and drug addiction that was literally killing me. Fast. It took me a decade at to get clean. I started to attend rehabs almost fresh out of high school, and managed to finally end it at 29. Between the bars always resonnated, obviously. God, what a beautiful song, and this cover hit me really hard today. Thank you, and much love from Norway! We’ll be watching! ✌️
Edit: 4 years clean & sober. Did not think it was going to last, but it does. I’m the luckiest person.

Hey, thanks for being so open about your progress with guitar and vocals over the years, and it really inspires me to stay motivated to keep trying and learning and trying new instruments, and it keeps reminding me if i put in the hours and the effort anything is possible!
Great job. This song always transports me to a special place, somewhere between a melancholic heaven and this realm. Elliott was special. I related to him more than most songwriters I've listened to and it always does something to my heart when I put on his music.
RIP Elliott and thanks for this cover. It's one of my favourite songs he ever wrote.

Excellent song choice, you're rendition is beautiful. I spent many nights listening to Elliott Smith, he is one of my favorites of all time. I love the Flipper shirt too, seeing Kurt Cobain wear that shirt turned me on to that band.
