I feel being able to access multiple reading apps makes the price worth it more than the kindle. Plus I’m a language learner so I need world access on my reading device not one system. Love your videos!
I really want to get one. I don’t need one but I do want one. I recently spent nearly that amount of money on cycling stuff that I wanted but didn’t need. Maybe my next splurge will be for an onyx Btw, another reason I like page turn buttons is at this time of year I can sit outside all bundled up and with gloves on and still read. With my kindle I had to keep a hand glove free and in between pages I’d tuck it under the fluffy blanket. Soon as I eat supper I’ll head onto the porch with my warm layers and blanket and gloves and read my kobo
I was waiting…and waiting…and waiting. 8 inch would’ve been better, but this will do for now. Immersive reading is a plus. All the reading apps in one place is a plus. Charging only 1 device is a plus, since I tend to hop around. I honestly was hoping for an 8 inch kindle. Since I finally decided to purchase this, I’m sure Amazon will release one next month. lol. It seems like it happens that way. Nice review.
Thanks for this discussion! I've been going back and forth over whether to replace my 10+ year old Kindle Paperwhite with another, or get the Boox Page. Videos like yours have helped me decide and a Boox Page is currently being shipped to me. For me ,it seems to be the perfect device. If it isn't I can return it and get a Paperwhite after all. That's a proven solution for my eReader needs.
A key feature for the Oasis that is very important to me is that it is water proof (resistant). I often take it with me on walks, in adverse wether when commuting to work, and … basically places where it gets wet. The Oasis also is good for pool-side reading because of this (I am more “hike by the water” than “sit by the pool”). It sure would be nice to get Readwise on the Kindle though…
I just bought the boox poke 5 just for the easy of sending my epubs to my ereader via USB-C instead of having to go through the amazon hoops. The only let down is there aren’t many cases available which makes me semi regret switching over but the freedom away from amazon feels like it’s worth it especially with the option to expand the storage just for the peace of mind of having it.
This is something I'm going to experiment with. I'm a little worried that my videos won't be as good as other Book RUclipsrs, I tend to be better at tech reviews. But that's probably my own limiting beliefs talking. It's worth pushing myself to try :) Thanks for the encouragement!
@@ironinthesoul9680 Since I can access other reading apps besides libby it's a great option! I wish I had known about ti before. Aka the autonomy as a consumer can be beat :D google drive, libby, kindle, nave, webtoons (korean based), Adobe, and more. Love my kobo still! Great reading device for sure
The Page has one major issue, why I returned it. If you use the dark mode, every 4 pages it renews the screen with a white flash, this is like someone takes a foto of you with a flash, absolute annoying and makes the dark mode not usable at all. There where also some software bugs occasionally. The best reader for me is the Kindle paperwhite.
Thank you for sharing this, as I am considering the BOOX page. I suppose this might be fixable. Have you reported this to them? And what other bugs does it have?
I would appreciate a speaker test with your microphone set up. Hearing an audiobook or hearing your voice recorded on the device would be helpful to see how well done they made this device or if it was an afterthought.
Happy to see you are getting into Boox devices. Page is an excellent ereader. Just waiting for them to release the color variant, then I can get one too;🙂
Hi Paneetpaul, I found the Page e-reader appealing. Is there a resolution in inches on word to create a Page based document. Like Kindle suggests 6x9. thanks
Currently I'm using Kindle Paperwhite 11th gen 6.8" Model and I'm thinking to switch from kindle to Boox Page the reason is android endless flexibility and using as many reading app i want and my most important thing reading my important pdf files. But I'm kinda confused is it worth to switch from kindle Paperwhite to Boox page?
Another great video. I appreciate the kindle comparisons, but can you please let me know how it compares to kobo? I find the kobo app is so slow and laggy on my iPad so I’m assuming the kobo experience here has to be terrible.
the boox is better if you not english speaker, since it run on andorid so you can download the local app for ebooks in your langauge which is not english. i have kindle and cant do much since the books in hebrew are only sold on their own app.
My boox poke 2 lasts only for 6 months due to battery defect.. to avail the warranty i need to ship the unit to HK at my own expense.. so no, boox is traumatic for me..
Your videos are really helpful always, please can you tell me y are amazon india out of stock all kindle paperwhite. Is kindle will going to stop in India, any news??? Thank you
Hello thanks to your video i just bought a boox page . Is there a way to use the physical button to turn page in the kindle app ? I set the button for the kindle app in "turn page" in setting but it doesn't seem to work properly ... When i press those button in the kindle app it turn volume up or down ...
I am sad to announce that I am now totally converted to Boox Note Air 3C and Boox color e-ink system in general! After over a decade being a loyal Kindle reader, I have to say Amazon is now way behind in the e-ink world. Their pdf reading capability is next to zero. Also outside of their controlled wolrd, is total freedom! I now can do so much more be it reading books, taking notes, or annotating on books and pdf documents without any limitations, while I have access to Kindle and other reading apps anyway. Boox pdf handling capabilities are blowing my mind! One has to wonder why they have to limit themselves within Amazon ecosystem?!

You have such a lovely presence and I’m a fellow e reader lover so I always love your videos. 🎉

Agree, waterproof is mandatory for me.

I have a kobo libra 2 and this is my desired switch! This and/or the tab mini c!
Why this over the Libra 2?

Boox products are also sold by Best Buy, but they are frequently in and out of stock. I just purchased a Boox Poke 5 E-Reader this week.
Exactly the question I was looking for! Thank you!
Thank you very much. Your comparisen was very helpful in making a decision.
Great review, thanks a lot

Will the Page be your main e reader now or is it the Palma?
I want this or the tab mini c. I wonder if you can do a comparison of that vs the box page vs the kindle oasis
Happy to see you are getting into Boox devices. Page is an excellent ereader. Just waiting for them to release the color variant, then I can get one too;🙂
Exactly what I am looking for …….thanks for the comparison video
Thanks for the Video. I like my device Boox Go Color but the side buttons don’t work on kindle app 😢
Did you get this figured out?
@@rowan729 I have already set up correctly. Thank you!
I know it was a gimmick but I thought the battery case thing from the original Oasis model was neat.

Yay, I am a Oasis fan and owner. This is good news.
Can we read persian books on it? or arabic books?

Go to your kindle app settings menu and there is an option says Turn page using volume button something like that, just turn it on walla here you go.

The size of the storage becomes important when you start reading mangas or comics
