I don’t always see your videos like I used to. You remind me a lot of my dad. He was an amazing pilot. I enjoyed our rides in a twin Baron. If you like the feeling of being pushed back into your seat while accelerating down the runway the Baron definitely was one of my favorites to ride in.
RUclips is letting me down on notifications! I got to thinking its been a while, so I manually looked up Jerry W and found some vids they failed to notify me on. Nice to get my virtual flight this week🙋🏼♀️. Hope all of you had a great Thanksgiving.
Jerry, Your flying at 210 with an IAS of 140-145 as you reported with two reported TAS of 203 and 208. What is you power setting as a percent of power. Inches and RPMs because you are a GITSO won't mean much in comparison. The reason I am asking is that I used to own and fly a Baron 58TC, mostly in the lower teens (say 12.5-14.5) and would indicate 166-168 and true out 210-212 at 27X2300 and 62%. I usually flew with a GW of about 5,500#. I am surprised my Baron was so much faster. I also used to fly PVF-VNY at least once a month. Like you videos!!!
@@Jerry.Wagner Right. The GNS doesn't do airways but it does (always did) do approaches, SIDs and STARs. That's what the PROC button is for - Approach, Arrival, and Departure procedures. With VNY, PROC > "Select Arrival?" gives you a list, including the WEESL arrival. Select it, add the transition, and it loads into your flight plan.
Another good one Jerry ... Have you ever seen the Documentary "16 Right"? It's a (very good) history of Van Nuys Airport, and some of the aircraft there. (they also did 16 Left later) ..... Hi Nancy ... just sayin'
I came here to say "have you seen the documentary 16 right?" but I see I have already been beaten to it by Uncle Jack! If you haven't, it's well worth a look. Anyway, enjoyed the flight as always and hope 513SJ is on the mend. Andy.
Jerry, could you please explain the reduction of mixture on right engine after advancing both throttles on t/o? Great video, hope you guys enjoyed the holiday.
Yes I can, at full throttle the right engine's fuel flow is too high and needs to be lowered hence the pull back on the mixture, it's on the list to be adjusted, don't want to mess with it too much since where it counts at high altitude it is spot on

Welcome back Jerry and Nancy. Just saw you landed back at KAUN on FlightRadar24. Hope you had a good thanksgiving
Ahhhh memories…. I got my ppl at vny in the early 90s. Thanks Jerry
Thanks for the video & happy holidays.
I really like that you show events that don't go as planned. CA airspace can be a real handful.
Thanks very much and greetings from Switzerland!
Damn, that's a lot of work. Such a busy approach.
Welcome!

Any progress on your 421 engine
Jerry, isn't that a Garmin 530 in the panel? They do load arrivals by name. You could have loaded the WEESL.
thanks, I'll be sure to check it out on my next flight, I knew you could not load airways and did not know you could load approaches

My wife Pat has a 172, N47657, at Auburn. She has been having trouble getting her GoPro to work. Help her if you can. Thanks Mike.

Jerry with the jokes!
Don't forget to tip your waitress and bartenders ladies and gents. He's here every Tuesday night. (Badum bum)

@@Jerry.Wagner appreciate that!
Hi Jerry,
Happy you have a airplane to fly while your airplane is being worked on.
