Any chance to get BR385 from 1st Feb? Was TPE to HAN but had to return midflight due ban by Vietnam because of Corona virus. Not sure there's anything interesting to listen to though.
Nice job on the flight. I admire anyone who flies GA in the SoCal aerial meat grinder; I certainly didn't enjoy it on my one and only visit to VNY some years ago.
So I used to fly the same way back and fourth my home airport is KWJF and my job was at KVNY. I love Foxy's Airport Restaurant at KWJF. Glad to see some one made a video of my favorite flight.
@@pvtdipwad2944 yea it was supper fun, I was working with encore flight academy for a little at KVNY for a little bit but before that I was working with Exodus air service at KWJF but I ran into some medical issuses and trying to get them sorted before I fly again, you going to the airshow at KWJF next mouth?
I used to instruct out of KVNY on PA-28s and now fly out of KBUR on the ERJ 145s, during the winter months going north over the hills is really bumpy. We recently had severe turbulence everywhere in that area! You can hear Bigstripe on frequency thats my company!
Nice flight, but after all of my years in the PA28s I still love hearing the sound of the engine. The sound was always like an audible performance monitor for me. Quite reassuring.
I grew up in the antelope valley of Southern California, so I’m quite familiar with Fox Field. I am totally blind, but I’ve been fascinated with aviation and communications since I was 12. I even have the KWJF Awos Number in my phone so I can quickly check the weather there, since that’s another fascination of mine. One thing I was curious about though, why did Fox Tower change frequency from 120.3 which it had been for years, to the current frequency of 118.525? Great videos, and keep them coming.
@@pvtdipwad2944 Hey there! - going through old comments. Actually, I'm a renter out of Mach1 @ KVNY with 130JM. I follow some of the Condor friends & crew on social media, so it may have given the impression otherwise. :)
I'm absolutely convinced that US ATC countries are taught to try and speak as fast as possible "so we sound cool" and slur their words. It's really substandard practice.
No, it just sounds fast to non-aviators. 99% of controllers and 95% of pilots here are native English speakers and have no problems at all understanding, so we speak fast because we can and we have lots more traffic than most other countries. If we spoke too fast, you'd hear a lot of "say again" or requests to verify, but you rarely hear that.
KVNY is one of the busiest Class D airports in the states, they're constantly busy. I fly out of there all the time and the clearences are clear and crisp. I've never needed to ask for a repeat.
If you are VFR and not under norcal control, climb at discretion. The controler was too busy, you have the airplane... That's lake Elizabeth and lake Hughes... Better breakfast at Cal City L71, better Lunch at Rosamond L00... Prepare for X-wind... Welcome to the High Desert !
Hi, I'm going back to an older comment with a note that I was in the vicinity of the Newhall Pass intersecting the ILS approach path to KVNY's 16R. I have often been asked by ATC to limit climbs here or deviate. Out of abundance of caution, and a busy time, wanted to ensure all was clear.

Are you following the plane which is supposed to land at Barajas with a missing wheel?
I remember flying out of VNY before they had the automated ATIS voice :D
The last time i was this early, Pan Am still flew
😂
Haha!!!
actually, PanAm still has flights schools with their logos on planes and stuff lol
8:00 Wrong readback and missed hearback. Clearance is 5000 ft and below, not 5500 ft and below (7:56).
It cuts right after that, so they probably edited out the controller's correction.

Hey that plane is from my flight school, Baymark aviation, great school can’t recommend it enough

Really nice video and nostalgic for this SoCal boy. Beautiful airplane and greaser landing too!

What's this strange green color on the SoCal hills?
The green is regrowth after a recent fire

I'm having a hard time understanding what they're saying without subtitles. But view is nice
Slow the playback speed down to 0.75 and see if that helps.

Always a good place to stop for a bite. KEMT has good breakfast too!
Annia’s Kitchen? It’s OK.
I dont understand why there was so much turbulence on take off on such a clear day, please explain (thinking about taking lessons)
At that alt on a sunny day? Little thermals. Also probably turbulence from the mountains to the east. He did mention a stronger headwind.
The turbulence at that time of the morning with winds calm were surprising to me as well, but subsided fairly quickly
Yep, starts up just like my Archer 😁
