Absolutely! I love hearing that when I open minecraft, or just Haunt Muskie playing on the menu, I sit around waiting for it to all me over until I play, can’t skip Haunt Muskie.
This song brings me back to when it was around 2013 when Minecraft was popular. My family was struggling financially and we where in a tough spot. My birthday was coming up and despite what was going on my dad promised to get me a gift. So my birthday comes around I told my dad about Minecraft and he decided to go to GameStop to get me Minecraft for the Xbox 360. We took it home and booted it up, created a world together and started playing. And after that whenever he wasn’t busy with work we would always boot up that same world and bond with each other over Minecraft. That still is one of my best memories to this day.
That’s so beautiful. Those are the memories you never want to forget. I remember playing minecraft and listening to this while playing on the ps3 while building, messing around, and having fun. I’ll never forget moments like those.

The creative mode music doesn’t get nearly enough recognition. Everyone just goes to volume alpha for the nostalgia but volume beta is just as good if not better

a lot of people talk about alpha, but the beta album hits harder for me. the majority of my hours in minecraft were spent in creative, and this song especially hits a chord with me.
What's the difference between alpha and Betta? I started to play Minecraft near 2015 with the Xbox 360 and don't remember this song in the game, what happened to the music? My guess is they changed it

To think 6 years ago I was 17 years old. I was in my Junior year of High School. It was actually one of the most beautiful year I will ever experience in my life.. I was in love, was in band camp, had a lot of friends, I didn't realize that in the moment, but I actually had a pretty good life in 2014. However, it was also one of my worst times I will ever experience. I developed P.T.S.D because of a drug addiction and would trigger countless Panic Attacks. My mental state was at its worst but thankfully, my girlfriend at that time helped me go through it. I am not with her now, but I do am thankful for all the memories we created, best and worst ones. I didn't realize then but I am grateful I got to experienced finding these type of music that let me escape from reality. I am sure many of you will also understand that the music from Minecraft acted as a remedy to my teen problems we all faced one way or another. I am now 23 years old and looking back at little me commenting on these music videos, I am glad I have come this far and I am happy for each and of you that have made it thus far as well. Things eventually get better. Love you all and stay strong.
For the first 40 seconds, its like you looking back in time, from birth to the your first sight of parents. These memories are fondly towards you, a piece of a greater whole called life. You look up at the stars to see eternity, the overstretching light beyond your eyes.
1:55 😭😭THIS PART MAKES ME CRY EVERY TIME when I was a kid I always made sure to look at my builds from far away right at this moment of the song like it was a “song relief” and it makes me tear up every time I hear it now
1:57 is probably my favorite part of the piece. I picture a freefall or slowdown; cinematic shots of the landscape. No thrill at all. Just pure peace and bliss. I like the whole piece, as it does include a bunch of different moods throughout the whole thing, but this part just stand out the most to me. I just randomly thought of this one part and it took me a good 10 minutes of searching through the entire soundtrack to finally find it. Thanks C418.
When you listen to this. It’s a world where you don’t have to collect resources to or craft, and you don’t need to fight off enemy mobs. You can get unlimited resources, and use them to build.
There are so many memories. So many... vague memories. They're faded. They're incomplete. Some are just knowledge of a memory that was. And the song progresses. They clarify. They come back. Not flooding back in an uncontollable manner, just enough to chew over each one. I get a sudden, powerful impulse to write down these. Who knows when they will be remembered again? My nostalgia, I literally just realized, straddles the border between memory and feeling. The memories age. They join with others. They slowly fade. But they don't fade away. Instead, they merge into a feeling. Not a new emotion, but not just a slightly different type of nostalgia either. It is an entirely new feeling, an entirely new sensation. And yet... yet it feels so familiar. Like I felt it before. Like I was feeling it, and it was preserved in the memory, waiting for me to experience it. Previously, my writings about nostalgia didn't make a whole lot of sense. They just involved scribbling down anything I could get a clearish recollection of. But now... now I understand. And the song slowly ends. Slowly I become aware, once again, of my surroundings. It is 3:15 AM, Saturday, the 21st of July, 2018. I'm lying in bed next to a bowl of pretzels. But for ten minutes or so, I was in a different world. A world made out of faint, faded memories, so many different feelings. There are no vivid flashbacks like you see in the movies. They move up from the back of your mind. Pictures, usually. And the circumstances around them. Now i'm thinking about this comment entirely. How do I end it? What do I say? Will it still be poetic and, more importantly, true if i'm thinking about the comment and not the music? No, it won't be. I have left that would. And I will never be able to rejoin. It's a good thing there are so many others, some strong, some weak, some nothing but tunes, others clear memories of video. Set off by everyday objects, they start chain reactions, like this one is still doing right now. So that's my comment. Things actually happened during the writing of it. This is my most eloquent description of Nostalgia, at least this nostalgia, I have ever written. I had an epiphany while writing it, so maybe that helped. But a pleasant epiphany. One that sort of creeps up on you at your own pace... I could go on forever, couldn't I?
You are one of the people that describe that feeling the best. I’ve felt it for years... but in that past few years I’ve been searching for it.. I’ve compiled an over 100 video playlist that has given me this feeling and I remember and try to revisit different settings that give me this feeling. It’s very important to me. It’s as if I’ve been given a door to unlock the secrets of the human mind and I’m searching for the right key: the best description of consciousness itself. I love this feeling, it’s melancholic in a way, but it can also be joyous, or even infuriating. I’m at school right now, physics class. And I’ve been staying up all night recently in order to revisit these emotions, and to explore the limits of my mind, and my consciousness. And I can’t wait for tonight... maybe I’ll play some Minecraft.
i remember this playing while me and my brother were making a giant kfc in creative we never finished it then one day i went on that world with a friend and he griefed it i couldve cried when he was blowing it up as that world was nearly 10 years old
I’m sorry for your loss man.. that guy was an asshole. I am currently making a large medieval/kingdom type world at the moment and I’d cry if someone destroyed my memories.. and I don’t know if you play Minecraft anymore, but some words of advice? Make copies.
Make copies like me I have bedrock edition and because I’m so scared of getting greifed one of my worlds is named Copy of Copy of Copy of Copy of Copy of Copy of Copy of Copy of Copy of Copy of my world
It’s been so long, too long, to the point where this song doesn’t have a memory to it, I no longer picture the times when I heard this song no, instead I feel, the only thing I know from this song is the feeling tht it brought to me, my memories have faded, there are now trapped the the lock of time, to never be opened again but instead sealed even tighter, I can’t express into words what I feel, because I feel more then joy sadness and nostalgia, I feel the memory but I can’t recall it, it makes sense since now I’m no longer a child, I’m now a man, my only wish is tht when I die I see and remember everything I went through, so I can experience everything all over again, and this time to not forget the memories that are attached to this masterpiece
this is so true. When I listen to this song, all I can feel is nostalgia, sadness, great fullness, and depressed. It Brings back so much memories of building houses on my Xbox 360 E. It feels like I am reliving my childhood over and over and over. It also makes me feel warmth, like something is hugging me to get through these hard times. I can still remember updating my Minecraft, and hearing this song show up less. If anything, this song made me continue playing Minecraft for more years you can count on both of your hands. I will never stop listening to this song, as its the song of my childhood. But as I grow up, I think it's slowly time to close up the chapter for Minecraft. In March, I'm going to do my test for my Learners licence, going into high school next year, and getting into more tougher times. I will always remember you Minecraft, and I will always remember this song, even during my final moments on this big, floating rock we call home.
honestly C418 songs tell stories that you must imagine. it's soothing, good for the mind to relax, can make a nightmare in to a dream. I like to call it a sweet nightmare in to a horrific dream

Just play hardbass in the background, then you won't be contemplating anything. On a side note, C418 is surprisingly good at plucking the heartstrings for no apparent reason.
this was the first song i heard after my life saving emergency surgery as a child after getting home after a week of being in the hospital, and people are confused why i think this song is so buitifull
1:57 - Goosebumps every time. It feels like a panoramic shot of city lights blazing to life at twilight, or a time lapse of the land regrowing after a forest fire
Every time this songs plays in my creative world i simply stop what im doing and start contemplating my world while paying attention to the song. Its an amazing feeling, i feel so proud of my creations, its my little paradise. And 4:49 . Damn. That part ALWAYS gives me chills. Minecraft soundtrack is amazing, i feel really nostalgic listening to it even tho i literally played the game yesterday
That seems like a nice time to build, then stop what your doing for a moment to admire your work. Especially when you feel proud that you worked so hard to make your own home and even villages, and you feel like you have achieved something from it.
I keep coming back to this masterpiece. The times being in elementary school and playing this game non stop admiring everything. This has brought so many memories back.
Skype got replaced by discord windows 7 got replaced by windows 10 our childhoods were replaced by adulthood 2010s was replaced with 2020s and worst, mojang got replaced by Microsoft (not really but close) and many more feels weird after those years now
This is a master piece, you can clearly see the effort C418 put to make this as unique as possible, and that's what makes this so memorable, it's unique, the music doesn't remind me of any other song out there, so, it saves itself within my memory. You can hear the incredible detail in the background (you can hear it better with a headphone at max volume). This is why Minecraft's Beta album is my new favorite. Yes, the Alpha album is good, yes, it reminds me about the good ol days. But it will not compare to the Beta album, the Beta album has an overall uniqueness to it, each piece feels different, they all have deep meaning to them, they're just great. And, not just that, but even the different parts of the piece are unique from each other, they all have different instruments which make you remember every last bit of it, making it even more nostalgic.
I have a question, how come I never listened to this? Started playing in the late 2015's but all I can remember are songs like Sweden and that stuff. What happened to the music?
@@palomec_2322since microsoft purchased mojang, they wanted to use music in the game that they owned, rather than pay C418 the royalties for his music. so they got two people to make new soundtracks, and they've made it so that the old stuff plays less often. really a shame.
@@palomec_2322the music in this video and other tracks from Volume Beta played in creative mode, while Sweden and other Volume Alpha tracks played in survival
@@3IOnTjXpbH5HxzkVTjlKczyeah no, Volume Beta and Alpha used to play in Survival and Creative, but some time around 1.9 Mojang made Aria Math, Dreiton, Taswell, Haunt Muskie and Blind Spots exclusive to creative, which i believe was a great idea.
Almost 10 years since I started playing this amazing game, I just remember the time when I was a kid just placing some blocks trying to build a house, and right now I just have this nostalgic game and I keep playing it every time I can
I'm new to Minecraft, started playing it couple weeks ago.. But I can tell you already I fell in love with this game and the music by c418.. I got because my little cousins once was playing it while I was there and I was just amazed by the music.. Then I knew I had to get this game for myself :3 I'm still a noob but I'm glad I got it.. Can't believe I been missing out on this though!
5:05 I always loved the piano part so darn much as it made me somehow think about a quiet peaceful place and rain sounds looking around everywhere else round! Even the whole entire song and soundtrack is very good but wish the piano part lasted more longer than usual!
This song saved me from a mental breakdown I had back in 2016. I couldn't see a way out. My wife and I built a house in the game and lost it. I wandered for hours looking for it while she was working. This song played and by the end of it I realized the day will rise tomorrow and that everything should be alright. To this day, we talk about that old build.
This is the first Minecraft song I've ever remember, I remember seeing a kid playing Minecraft at my cousins house and I always wanted to play it. So I went and bought story mode this was around 2015. I realized that that wasn't the right game so I got angry and asked my mom to buy me the real game. On a Wii u, made a creative world, started doing things that I really just cannot remember. And then, Haunt Muskie plays. Finally finding this AMAZING piece has me feeling so accomplished in life. Thank you Mojang.
1:50 is just a reminder on how C418 literally made so many childhoods, memories, everything that could bring friends and close ones together, and new friends could be made at that too. he's definitely an artist that will never be forgotten in my eyes. ill always have fond memories of playing with my buddies back in 2011- 2012 the most to this song. i never turned off the music then, always had my old and crunchy speakers on blast 🤙thank you C418 for this masterpiece.
I completely agree, except I feel this way about the whole song. This is, in my opinion, one of the best Minecraft songs. I don't play Minecraft much anymore, but I listen to this all the time. Minecraft's blocky structure is nice and all, but this music goes beyond cubes. When I listen to this, I think of my best friends and I having climbed a mountain, and the sun begins to set. We all set up our tents, create a fire, and sit around it and just talk, while I look at the expansive view above the trees and beyond, as the sun slowly sets behind the mountain range.
A diamond block cube, red bed, a furnace next to a crafting table, with a torch on top of it and a chest full of diamonds. The first ever creative house for everyone ever.
My friends and I in our creative world hopping from, flying over, and running through our vast number builds, stretching many years, while having the deepest conversations. Good times!
this masterpiece isn’t just a soundtrack to an equally celestial game, this symphony played in the background whilst my friends and i created our childhoods from depths of our imagination, no other thing could fit so perfectly with the memories i’m recalling, not only am i sad that i can no longer experience these memories to the fullest but i am happy that they are now forever locked away in my head, there to create more joy and more memories that will one day grow and become something spectacular. looking back, i see now what made life so amazing, it wasn’t the problems being easier or the challenges less frightening, but the absence of adversity. i can no longer recall what it felt like to be in this state of freedom, now, like i said before, these feelings and memories are forever locked away in the bonds of my imagination, trapped, to become figments of my dreams.
I dont care on what anybody says, but this is the outright most underrated C418 soundtrack. All the memories I can think of when I was in a superflat world building a wooden house.
@@josiahgleason2042 Hatsune Miku is a vocaloid character. She is blue(I mean, her hair, clothes and anything). She is famous by the Ievan Polka, or, more precisely, 'Leekspin'. Well I gotta go!
So many memories but all of them too far to reach at the same time. How ironic to feel such happiness while remembering the small parts of a big dream while I played this game. Maybe at the end, we are all broken disks after all those years trying to remember our complete songs.
To me, this music really expresses how effortless creative mode is. The way the piano just seems so tastefully done in with such a careless melody. It reminds me to take a chill pill when designing builds in creative mode.
This is the Minecraft song I’m most nostalgic with. I don’t know why, and I may never know. But I don’t need to know, I still get to listen to this. I think it’s my favorite in the soundtrack.
Here I am, almost 11 years later. I still roam around me and my friends’ old worlds. I don’t dare touch anything. It’s all part of the memories. All the different houses. The dogs are still waiting for us to come back.
I remember, me and my cousins, every time they'd come over, we'd play on my brothers ps3, we made lots of world, we had that one og starter map, it was fun, we would always make these worlds with the free texture packs, and the worlds wouldn't save, but this brings back really good memories, our creative worlds were so bad, but we would always take the pre built villager houses that were big, thank you minecraft, and the person who uploaded this.
Jesus Christ, this soundtrack is so vast that you forget what's nostalgic. I keep adding to the playlist because I keep hearing new pieces that I remember... but forgot that I knew of the top of my head. Not everything is about Mice on Venus or Aria Math.
1:57 might be my favorite part of the song. something about the buildup giving away to that brooding piano gives me chills every time. that part of the song still pops into my head every once in a while
This is a chilling minecraft thought the farthest a person has ever gone was 1.4 million blocks Next time you're playing minecraft just remember that you will never see the other 99.999% if you travelled 600 blocks
I love how c418 make the music just creep up on you while ur 100% dialed in on a build or something and it feels like you’re in a story of your own world. This is some kind of high intellect music that really taps into the mind. It makes me imagine so many things in detail and just makes you feel so goddamn good when you’re working on something. It’s like an additional gear added to your cog that makes everything spin faster. So goddamn beautiful. And so goddamn nostalgic. Just really really glad I got to experience something like this, even though I’ll never get it back
And plus the part where you mentioned it being like it's your own story.....it is the world you created and shaped were all story or voyages or even adventures

I didn't realize then but I am grateful I got to experienced finding these type of music that let me escape from reality. I am sure many of you will also understand that the music from Minecraft acted as a remedy to my teen problems we all faced one way or another. The first 40 seconds man... For me it's the feeling when you wake up early in the morning and feel like you ready to conquer the world. Amazing.
And after those 40 seconds is when you conquer the whole world
For the first 40 seconds, its like you looking back in time, from birth to the your first sight of parents. These memories are fondly towards you, a piece of a greater whole called life. You look up at the stars to see eternity, the overstretching light beyond your eyes.

I like the whole piece, as it does include a bunch of different moods throughout the whole thing, but this part just stand out the most to me.
I just randomly thought of this one part and it took me a good 10 minutes of searching through the entire soundtrack to finally find it.

All I have to say is me too.
I could go on forever, couldn't I?
this comment deserves more attention
And I can’t wait for tonight... maybe I’ll play some Minecraft.

this is so true. This is a master
piece, you can clearly see the effort C418 put to make this as unique as possible, and that's what makes this so memorable, it's unique, the music doesn't remind me of any other song out there, so, it saves itself within my memory.

We all set up our tents, create a fire, and sit around it and just talk, while I look at the expansive view above the trees and beyond, as the sun slowly sets behind the mountain range.

this masterpiece isn’t just a soundtrack to an equally celestial game, this symphony played in the background whilst my friends and i created our childhoods from depths of our imagination, no other thing could fit so perfectly with the memories i’m recalling, not only am i sad that i can no longer experience these memories to the fullest but i am happy that they are now forever locked away in my head, there to create more joy and more memories that will one day grow and become something spectacular. looking back, i see now what made life so amazing, it wasn’t the problems being easier or the challenges less frightening, but the absence of adversity. i can no longer recall what it felt like to be in this state of freedom, now, like i said before, these feelings and memories are forever locked away in the bonds of my imagination, trapped, to become figments of my dreams.
