      Personally, mine just offers a nice subtle low-end emphasis.
      Check your stereo head unit settings;
      1. Some (like mine) can use the RCA inputs as either sub outputs or rear speaker outputs - if you don't change it to "sub out" then you will get some really messy sound.
      2. You may be able to tweak the subwoofers gain settings which could help
      Having said that, you need to remember that this is a subwoofer. It's designed to emphasise bass sounds and not mid range sounds; you will notice on your remote that you can tweak the frequencies from 50Hz to 125Hz...
      (For reference - 32 Hz: This is the lowest frequency selection on the EQ. This sits in the lowest of low bass frequencies. This is where subwoofer information resides in songs (such as kick drums and bass instruments). A majority of speaker systems on the market can’t even reproduce this frequency - the only way you can hear this frequency is with a good dedicated amplifier with a high-quality subwoofer, or with some premium IEMs.
      64 Hz: This second bass frequency starts to become audible on decent speakers or subwoofers. Again, mostly bass drums and bass instruments will reside in this region.
      125 Hz: Many small speakers, such as in your laptop, can just about handle this frequency for bass information. In other words, if you turn it up on most systems, you’ll hear more bottom/bass in your mix.
      250 Hz: This is still considered low-end, but more of the “woofy” sound of bass and drum sounds. Guitars and pianos will have a large amount of low end in this frequency range.
      500 Hz: Now were approaching midrange frequencies, but still some of the low end of vocals and the mids of bass instruments sit here in a mix.

      directs the sound forward , i spoke to many professional installers and everyone said to do it , regards to mid bass as said this is a sub for low bass so you will need some decent aftermarket speakers, i turned the sub off and tuned my head unit and speakers to sound as good as possible with high and mid to as loud as i could then add the sub and having the gain control accessible all the time adjust as needed .my sub out on my head unit has three settings off , normal and rev , off is obviously off normal sounds shite but rev is where its at my head unit sits on 80hz as i found that worked best . every head unit is different at the end of the day as is the sound when installed in different vehicles, case of fiddling to see what works !

    • @tetsuokasei
      @tetsuokasei 7 лет назад

      Thanks for the tips Trev815, will try what you suggested. I find the sub gives the cleanest bass when its used very lightly, hence helping with the integration instead of loud booms.

    You didn’t actually need to connect the blue wire to the back of the stereo if you connected the yellow one to a switched live in your fuse box, eg rear wiper.

    Hello. I understand that it’s designed to be used in the car or a vehicle. Can I use it in my 200 sq feet room in my home. I have a stereo system with subwoofer out connection. Will it sound good?.

    • @thepetitts9552
      @thepetitts9552  5 лет назад

      I can't honestly say. What I do know is Bass frequencies form large sound waves that are omni-directional (that is, it doesn't matter much which direction the amp is pointed because the sound waves flow long and wide). Furthermore, because of the long sound waves, Bass sounds fuller when you are not so close to the source. So typically, I should think it would work; although a major question you will need to answer is how will you power it - underseat subs require a separate power source, and the cable for the is designed to connect to either the cars battery or into its fuse box system... how will you get it's external power? Having said that, underseat subs are constructed differently to "regular" subs and will not provide overwhelming bass, it's more of a subtle difference - although with tweaking the cars headunit settings you can get some pretty decent impact from it!

    What rating would you give the:
    Vibration
    Bass
    Sound improvement
    from 1 to 10?

    • @thepetitts9552
      @thepetitts9552  7 лет назад +8

      Hi Arjan.
      On a scale on 1 to 10 (where 10 is best and 1 is poor)
      Vibration: 4 - If it's a particularly "deep bass" track and you've turned up both the amp and your headunit, then you can feel it underneath you, but it's not going shake your spine loose.
      Bass: 5 - I can't say that in my experience the bass in my music now melts my brain, and I don't sound like a rudeboy as I drive by... unless I turn my volume up significantly - then I know people can hear it outside the car.
      Sound Improvement: 8 - this is a personal call. I like the subtle increase in the bass. I like that the vibrations are more noticeable sometimes, rather than constantly shaking my core. For me, it definitely rounds out and ands depth to my music, and I am completely satisfied with it.
      But if you are after something more "in-your-face" you will probably want a more traditional boot amp.

    • @CitarNosis317
      @CitarNosis317 7 лет назад

      It's great for it's size, every small size woofer will be similar. They don't work with magic. If you want to be a rudeboy, put a big woofer in the trunk. The vibration of the chassis will just add to the bass / noise. :D

    • @thepetitts9552
      @thepetitts9552  6 лет назад

      I didn't't have any space, nor could afford to lose any functions from the car which is why I used that add-a-fuse"/ fuse saddle (should be easily found in your generic car parts store or online - www.amazon.co.uk/Vehicle-Circuit-Profile-Holder-HitCar/dp/B00U61OO50/ref=sr_1_fkmr1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1528226854&sr=8-4-fkmr1&keywords=add-a-fuse%22%2F+fuse+saddle). Fuse for lighter / rear 12v 30amp. What additional fuses do you recommend I need, 30’amp original fuse in adaptor and another 10 amp fuse even tho the yellow has a 10 amp inline. Thanks

      @thepetitts9552  4 года назад +1

      Hi Billy.
      Running the power to the fuse has been fine - I’ve had no hum or put at all. I’d say your plan for fuses seems about right: the inline fuse I used was 10amp with the original fuse I used a 25amp fuse in the saddle.

    • @BillyMuircroft
      @BillyMuircroft 4 года назад

      The Petitts on the yellow cable from the sub itself it has an inline fuse. Shall I not use this and just put the fuse into the adaptor then? So 1 30amp and 1 10amp and have the inline fuse empty? Thanks btw :)

      @chrischoy9 6 лет назад

      Basically, it is a wire for powering on the amp when the head unit switches on.
      Understand that people might connect it to a consistant power supply through either the fuse box or directly to the battery, it prevents the battery from being sucked dry when not in use.

      That cable has two rca connections for connecting to the amp. On the other end of that cable are four spade connectors - two positive and two negative. These should connect to the corresponding cables coming out of the wiring loom at the back of you stereo.
      If you can, follow this link to the manual and take a look at page 2:

    I put my Blue wire in the scotchlock and the blue/white crimped it and now ive got no power to the stereo . What did i do wrong ? I took the scotchlock off and still nothing?

    • @thepetitts9552

      Make sure that it is earthed properly... at first go mine didn't turn on either, but after sanding down the door step a little more and properly securing the earthing wire's contact with the metal of the car it powered up fine. So check that first. The second thing is to make sure that you properly crimp your scotchlock - that little metal rib needs to break through the wire's plastic sheath to finish the connection.

    Hi I have a Mazda 121 and my horn on my fuse box is rated 10A is that enough to power the sub I searched everywhere and I couldn’t find an answer

      The user manual states, "Connect the lead to a power supply terminal from the fuse box which can provide a constant current level of more than 10A". You can give it a go and you may be fine.. I can't definitively say, sorry.

    Ey mate i dont quite understand what to do with the yellow one, does it go to the fuses? And not the battery ?? And what about the blue one??

    • @thepetitts9552

      Hey Oskar.
      Apologies for the late response - I didn't receive any notification that you had commented/asked a question.
      So sorry.
      Anyway. Onto your questions.
      The yellow one is the power for the entire amp. It can be connected to the battery (it has an inline fuse to protect against surges), but that would require going through the firewall - something I didn't fancy doing. So it's up to you really. But if you go for the fusebox option then you will need that fuse saddle and you will need to work out which of the fuses has a constant power source.
      The blue one is the power for the wired remote. It needs to be connected to the blue cable running from the back of your stereo head unit:
      Now if you car has a powered antenna (one that rises when you start the car) then you may have two blue cables running from the back. In this case, the large flat spade will need to be connected to the blue cable with the words 'power antenna' or similar, and the smaller connection needs to go to the standard blue cable.
      If you have just the one blue cable then you can cut the two spades off and connect like I did - just make sure that you crimp the cable lock really well because without a solid connection the unit will not work!
      I hope this helps.
      Feel free to ask more - I'll keep a regular eye on here for the next few days, just in case.
      Mark

      The Petitts FOR WHAT FUSE U INPUT POWER CABEL ?

    • @Rev.MarkPetitt
      @Rev.MarkPetitt 7 лет назад +2

      The unit itself comes with a 10amp in-line fuse. But the additional fuse (if you install it the way I did) MUST be the same rating as the fuse point you are connecting it to.. i.e. if you are plugging it into a 20amp fuse point, you will need an additional 20amp fuse, if it's a 15amp fuse point then you'll need a 15 amp fuse.
      Whatever you do, DO NOT connect to a fuse point with a rating lower than 10amp as your sub will draw too much power for it to handle and constantly blow that fuse.

      Mark Petitt By "an additional", did you mean "a replacement"?

      Hey nchia,
      I mean additional. The way I installed it, using the fuse saddle, you will need an additional fuse.
      The set up goes as follows: remove the chosen fuse. The fuse saddle goes into the original slot. The original fuse (in order to keep whatever bit of car it was covering protected) goes into the first slot of the fuse saddle. The additional fuse (to cover the sub) goes into the second slot of the fuse saddle.

    lol not a telephone cable, its called an ethernet cable

    • @MrBlooDudette
      @MrBlooDudette 5 лет назад

      It's not actually that either. It's an RJ45 UTP cable, which has a number of different categories. Ethernet (or IEEE 802.3) is network protocol that often runs over these cables and is by far the most common use for them, which is why it's often confused.

    Does the "Add-a-circuit fuse tap adapter" you're installing at the 23:30 minute point of your video come with the Pioneer subwoofer, or did you purchase that separately? Thanks for the video!

      @@sonacphotos Isn't that the reason why you should plug it in a fuse point that isn't lower than 10 amps?

    • @MisterGordon
      @MisterGordon 4 года назад

      @@sonacphotos They don't give us a thick cable in the box and the fuse is 10A, so no problem if you choose a 25A fuse in you car. I don't have any way to go to the battery.
