Improving your ranged DPS is more feasible than it seems! Ranged has a very fluid rotation, it's about fitting as many of your high-damage abilities within that death's swiftness timer. Each upgrade adds to your rotation as well (that is, until you get BotlG 😅). How'd you enjoy this guide, do you have any suggestions for ranged dps?
I've used Bik arrows for HM Kerapac for a very long time now. I would suggest swapping out Snapshot for Tendrils (Especially for Kerapac) since more heals = More damage and Full Hp = Idle Reaver
Hello! I HIGHLY recommend showing the icons of the abilities on the screen while you also say it so others like myself can follow along easier. I know you're saying it but as a new RS3 player, I have to now rewind the video literally 5x or more just to follow a long for a few abilities. Other than that, thank you for the guide! I'm a new RS3 player coming from OSRS. I've really been missing out and loving the game so I'm glad that there are still content creators for RS3 and to show guides like this is very nice.
just bought the sgb for 2.2b 😅...thought I could figure out my own feel for a poison sgb rotation but nope... only getting 2:40 kills at kerapac now I'm here to learn how bad I messed up - thank you for the guide I'll probably watch it over a few times lol
This explains why the SGB is so expensive now, haven't taken a look at ranged in a bit, these arrows really make it a great alt to the BoTG, deff gonna try it out, I have dual wield Blight bounds and EOFs: ECB, SGB, Darkbow, wondering if I should main a long now and try it out
It’s super good with arrows! I think your setup is good as it is, if you wanted to camp bows I’d just suggest a nox longbow since you already have the SGB eof, it’s virtually the same thing.
rapidfire cancel on the last shot into either snapshot or tendrils, then finish with snapshot or tendrils, depends on which one you used in the step before. Very basic but it does very nice damage, just make sure to cancel the tendrils so you only take 3 ticks of dmg. Video on how to cancel rapidfire: ruclips.net/video/939znioyCMA/видео.html
@@RheyoRS Oh really? even at like seiryu? :D and which arrows would be best to use there? :D Trying to learn 2cycle but its ahrd with ascens and bakri bolts :D
Ful arrows are good to use anywhere you can’t poison, don’t have accuracy issues, or if the fight is short like Helwyr/Vindicta, which is pretty much everywhere except bosses like Telos/Nex/similar bosses with high defense. For ED1, I use Ful arrows. Otherwise, Wen arrows are the way to go, but if it’s dragons like ED2, then Jas dragon and arrows. If it’s a poisonable and a longer duration encounter like Solak or solo HM kerapac, using bik arrows is the go to with a reaver, cinserbanes, and Vamp Aura. I’ve covered the poison build at Kerapac and Solak on my channel within my Reckless Ranger series if you wanted a video guide.
A bit late to the party, but would you recommend using splintering arrows at all due to the Salt the wound ability and greater dazing? - especially at Raksha? or stick with ful arrows there?
I used to do that, but found it more tedious to swap back and forth between the arrows. The stacks of puncture fall off very quickly which makes you use greater dazing shot every 2nd or 3rd ability, or have it be your first ability after rapid fire. They’re not a bad option though
The BLG is great, it has a decent learning curve and keeping track of stacks can be tricky at first, but once you get them down, you just adjust your rotations accordingly. Just keep in mind, bleeds don't cont towards BLG Stacks, also yeah, i don't call it BOLG.
Any thoughts on using salt the wound (at x stacks or higher) or always prefer tendrils for that third threshold? Also assume eof dbow would be a decent substitute for the deadshot in the ds? Especially pre zuk cape
Yea pre zuk cape dbow eof is a better choice, if you’re not using CoE + vigour on top of zuk cape, then dbow would be better still, I only use Deadshot because I use all the modifiers so it costs 40% and the 188% ability is affected by DS, so it allows for leftover adrenaline for other abilities. Salt in the wound would be better if you can upkeep/build to at least 4 stacks of puncture. If you’re too focused on holding stacks of puncture, it’s pretty easy to mess up your rotation due to how fast it falls off. Tendrils is essentially a guaranteed max hit.
It does, it turns your soul split into a damaging hit so it doesn’t give you an extra hit from your reaver for the ecb spec duration. The amount of damage poison does at high bik stacks would out dps the soul split ticks (I believe.)
Once I get to a point where I’m decent with the mage style I’ll start making more mage content, including a rotation! I don’t use mage at all so my experience is 0.
What about ecb and sgb ds rotation? I mean its a massive adren dump especially using bow only but i have some success with it since i use duel wield with hydrix grico at start of ds then ecb into rapid sgb use snap whenever can
I have a question but try to understand what I’m trying to say because I may suck at asking correctly. If death swiftness ends and rapid fire timer is still going. Is it still under death swiftness or those last 3 or 4 Seconds aren’t boosted by d.s.
Rotation should be similar, your bolts would ideally be hydrix and ruby bolts, use ruby bolts til proc, then swap to hydrix for ~6 seconds. Then always use hydrix in Grico and rapid fire unless you don’t need adren. Excess adren can be dumped with darkbow eof
Is hexhunter bow worth using in HM kerapac with bik arrows? Or is it true that poison is T80 one and it wont scale up with the T97 buff that hexhunter bow gets in mage style bosses?
That’s correct. It’s still a strong bow, but for the price it’s at, noxious bow would provide great results for a fraction of the price. The hex doesn’t work on echoes in p4 either, as they’re classified as melee style.
Hi Rheyo! Appreciate you and your guides mate. I had put sgb in an eof and bought dual blight xbows before the elder god arrows were released and I'd prefer keeping them if that is at all sensible. I also have a currently physical ecb used as a caroming switch, which I could ofc put in an eof. Now I've bought myself a nox bow to try out the arrows. Would you argue that xbows have a role in the current meta at all or nah? Maybe just for a hydrix bak grico for adrenaline? I'd hate to sell the xbows, but I assume that I ought to.
I’d say their currently great for the hydrix swap yes, but aside from that there’s not much benefit, especially when you consider that their main perk is needle strike for 7% increased damage on your next ability, whereas Ful arrows have 15% bonus damage on all abilities.
Hey so I just started playing again and I’m really not good at any rotations wether it be range mage or melee. Could you do a guide on all 3? Sorry I just saw the other guide
How do you handle being adren starved? Do you think it's worth using spore arrows to make incend free for the buff? I know you can switch to hydrix bolts, but that's another switch, so I'm curious how you handle it.
I don’t use either, a good habit to get into is using 2 basics between thresholds after your initial burst, this plays out well the longer the encounter takes. Fury of the small relic and impatient 4 should help a lot with adrenaline management, you can also squeeze in a divert if appropriate, I normally don’t have to do that though. You should have enough adrenaline for everything if you keep these in mind. I typically don’t use darkbow eof unless I get a relentless proc somewhere in the rotation/if I need a quick burst of damage for a phase.
@@RheyoRS ah gotcha. I get extra adren merely boosts dps, and is not close to a necessity. I have seen at Zammy and Kerapac you can use both back to back with mechanocs, and it only increases dps, but isn't a thing you need to have. I immediately bought a wyrm bow to reduce switches haha
Been trying out some ranged after watching your vids. I picked up a Hexhunter and the enchantment. It was cool at rax but was disappointed finding out it didn’t work on kera echos
Yes it’s a video I plan on making! And I appreciate it, bossing seems harder than it is most of the time, I personally make things out to be harder than they are until I try it.
When I am looking at it Seren gb has the highest dmg 2056 and 2577 acc... but last guardian only has 1200dmg and 2765 acc. does that mean that in theory the seren can deal more dmg or? :) and even the Zaryte bow has more dmg than last guardian and Nox bow, So I am confused on which one I need to get :)
With zuk cape, ring of vigour, and conservation of energy relic, it takes the cost down to 40% adren, while being a 188% ability + bleeds. The 188% hit is affected by DS as well. If you’re using ECB spec/bik arrows with a reaver + soul split & vamp scrim, the extra hits proc more damage (ecb) or more poison damage (from reaver’s extra hits due to its passive.)
With the new Bik Arrows! I really appreciate this guide!! Thx, just wondering if you would be intrested in some free emotes? Not trying to sound weird, but I just started reaching out and seeing if people would be intrested, lmk :D
So I know you mentioned not focusing on the SGB in the ECB rotation, but is there any chance you could outline what to do considering adrenaline management? For example, sometimes I'm at Raksha, and I can phase in to phase 2 literally after the first auto following the tail swipe, but most of the time, I just barely phase before mind bomb. So I feel like I'm capable of doing more damage if I get my rotation better. Thanks for the video by the way!
That’s some killer dps as it is! Raksha is where I play a little more specific. I don’t re-fresh the ecb spec during the first phase (I’d have to check but im not even sure I use it for phase 1). When I’m about to hit phase 2, I’ll precast ecb so I can start off the rockfall with a basic hit as soon as the phase starts. This maximizes dps uptime while saving my ticks from casting ecb spec within the rockfall phase. I mentioned this in another comment, but a good idea is to space out your thresholds with 2 basics in between as the encounter progresses. This manages your adrenaline a lot better so you’re not starved. If it’s in your budget, you also have the option of hydrix Grico switching, i personally don’t do this though.
If i recall correctly there was a command in the PVMe Discord server that showed which are the best arrows to use for a particular boss and its particular phases. Will be interesting to see if you change things up once you get your botlg. I guess my only questions would be: Do you ever change things up when using Wen Arrows instead as they gain the stacks from basics then consume them for damage/accuracy once using thresholds? And then I might have missed it, but do you still use a Darkbow eof spec? I know that was once common before when we used hydrix bak bolts, but now being starved for adren makes it difficult to include at times; would you only incorporate it at places like Kera and Zammy now since you'd get adren back for free?
I'm actually having a lot of trouble with my Botlg rotations. Assuming 100% adrenaline (deathspore'd swiftness), I generally finality ECB + adrenaline pot -> bow spec -> grico -> finality SGB/bow spec -> rapid fire (cancel after 7) -> corruption/frag shot -> bow spec -> grico -> bow spec And then build back with hydrix to do it all over again.
