DAAAAAD did indeed drive a Ford. He left J.D. Stacy's team in late 1981, and actually drove for Richard Childress for the last few races of that season, then went to Bud Moore's team for 1982 and '83, then went back to Childress for 1984, and was there until his death.

As Someone who lives in Tennessee I don’t remember if it was snowing at the 82 Bristol race I do remember in 82 Thier was a blizzard which gave Tennessee over 6 inches of snow

Dale did drive a Ford between his time in the 2, which was bought by JD Stacy, and Earnhardt left in 1981, for his first stint with RCR, before the 15.

It pretty much explains why he had the 15 car at DEI because it was one of the cars he's driven, and the 8 (Also his dad Ralph drive the 8 before him, and his son did), basically any number he had at DEI was a family tradition.

Dale Senior did drive the 15 car in 1982 and it was a Ford. I remember some of those races not a lot of them. I didn’t really become a fan until the next year when it was on TV on a consistent basis.

No restrictor plates in 82’ weren’t untill 88’ or 89’ I believe someone back me up bc I believe it was Bobby Allison’s 88’ crash at Talladega that inspired it
