The cool thing with 70s era mono synths was that each piece had its own strong character and the sound really solid due to the individual component and unique circuit design. Behringer is bring this stuff back in well built, affordable and great sounding synths. Thanks Todd for your great hands on review!

Yeah, the knobs do feel a little cheap. I noticed a few pots had different friction to them too.
Sounds nice, very pleased that it was my second Behringer mono.

You can swap out the knobs if you want and many other pieces have variance in tension. So these are minor things. Overall it’s a killer synth. Gratz on owning it.

Thanks Todd. Mine's on backorder til early next year. I'm getting itchy for it! I'm very excited to play it but also to use patch in and out of it. Great video! Thanks for making and sharing. Happy holidays!

So would you say that the Kobol is more of an one-trick pony than the other Behringer monosynths?

I would say by itself it’s the most simple and limited synth. Kinda like a 101 or something of that nature. Obviously they added modular in/out but all Behringer mono synths have those options. I’m not sure it’s a one trick pony but definitely has a strong point by design.

@@toddsmithmusic3172 I was thinking more in terms of what sounds it could produce. For instance, my pro-1 can give me some nice snappy basses, but also some mighty fine leads and so forth. How is the Kobol in terms of lead sounds and suchlike?
