That's a big statement when all you have seen is a video less than 8 minutes in length. The purpose of the video is so you, the viewer, can see the monkey. You wouldn't be able to see him very well if she had him all cuddled up to her because he is so small. In fact, if she did that, I have no doubt you would be complaining that you couldn't see the monkey. Think about what you say and what you demand and how rude and insulting you sound before you write a comment. I'm sure this young boy has spent much time swadled and cuddled since this video was shot.

@@reconditionedmission2362 unfortunately, most of the breeders seem to live in the SE of the United States, so you would have to take care of transportation yourself. Simple google search will find you multiple primates for sale. Harder to find young macaques, but if you don’t give a crap about age or temperament, you could probably make a decent deal, but would still be paying thousands of dollars

Some are legit, but I've been there, lived there a while and I'm telling you that a large majority of them are obtained by shooting the mother straight out of the trees and simply taking the baby and selling it. It's sub-human, it's evil, and then they take these little innocent creatures and make videos like these hoping to make lots of money, which rarely happens. Since then, I did some research per another commenter's suggestion... and I found out exactly what happens to these animals both in and out of captivity. And it's sickening. I visited a couple of RUclips channels exposing the abuse and I couldn't believe what I was seeing, monkeys being tortured. One of them had his little fingers chopped off with a machete. SMH. An inanimate object, like a decoration for a movie set. It's welfare is not their main concern. Having lived with the monkeys for over 60 years and currently watching them jumping into my swimming pool I can saw with absolute certainty that these animals are better off with humans than in the forest. There are thousands of them abandoned in the forests every year. In just one weekend can collect a whole basket of them in the spring. After the mothers throw them out of the tree you’ve got most of the day to get them before the civets come for them. 🤷🏾

If a mother dies of natural causes and the troop decides not to care for or defend the offspring, so be it they die. Not every animal in the world (or human for that matter) can or should be saved. In most cases it is more humane to just let them succumb to nature. Brava to you if you're that one niche person that wants to save all the monkeys. He can't be more than a week old & not only did you not offer him food upon waking there was not one little thing you did to bring him comfort or security in any way. You know he has a strong instinct to cling & instead you kept turning him on his back which is unnatural for them & leaves them vulnerable & scared.
