mccants finds new ways every episode to show his bias and lack of IQ. Halliburton would be perfect for this team, not selfish, shows up in big moments, his assist/TO ratio is insane, also you need a mix of the young and vet guys. I don’t think he understands how olympic basketball is played or doesn’t want to acknowledge how everyone’s stats are so spread out with that much talent. Gil is right why do you need another iso player when you have better options than james harden who do the same thing. You need a balanced roster to fill in everything you need.

Im not disagreeing but Hali doesn’t play in a traditional offense. The usa team wont run up and down the court, play fast paced, shoot threes and not play defense. He has to show more than just empty stats to be a real star.

Gils for sure right about this.. you want your backup and starters to be starter level players do the intensity doesn’t drop off. And having hali over harden makes sense now, Hali would be able to run and gun with a high powered offense.

personally, I want to see Trae young on the usa roster. he has expressed a desire to play for his country. he's already bought in, and for me thats huge. he's going to play with pride and heart and he's a dog. he may not be the BEST player, but he's the player that WANTS to be there, and that is invaluable.

Haliburton averaged 10 assist last year and 9.6 when he was traded to Indiana. Haliburton has been ascending every year. They just don’t show pacers games. Haliburton if he wants it is a lock for 2024 if you are taking a total of 6 guards (both positions).

If Mccants was as consistent in the NBA as he is on his horrific basketball analysis day in and day out, maybe he would’ve had a successful NBA career.
Team USA was missing size AD would be critical, but they still need more defensive bigs probably good to add Jarrett Allen or maybe Brook Lopez or Duren. Sure, they are not as good as many others but team USA had big names this year they just couldn't stop anyone on the post.
I think Jarret Allen, bam, ad and embiid is a very good big man rotation.

It seems like I disagree with Rashad McCants like 90% of the time. There's no way I’m picking James Harden to be on my team in a game 7. There’s just no way. James Harden is a great player, future Hall of Famer, but that MVP Harden was a long time ago; he’s still good, but definitely not the same player he once was.
