- Bricklaying - How to Build a gable with a pattern
Showing how I like to build a gable with a 225 cutup and a x3 pattern on. Probaly not the best way, but just the way I've been shown and taught. Every Bricklayer has different ways of getting the job done👍
This was a job for a mate of mine who use to play for Derby county back in the day😂 He scored a goal against Forrest back in the day..won't stop going on about it..any guesses?..Recently sacked from BBC derby
good job young un. been laying almost 40 years. you'll do well. thumbs up and subscribed,
Thanks so much mate, appreciate it, coming from such an experienced bricky 😁😁
Nice job m8. Izzy i always value your opinion / advice.
On my extension i intiailly wanted a 400 , 500 mil overhang on pitched roof above my sliding doors with maybe box guttering.
Builder has suggested corbel on gabel. If i have corbel on gabel then will i still be able to have overhang on my roof or will that hide the detail ? And if its 1 or the other what would you go for corbel on the gabel or overhang on the roof with maybe box guttering? Thanks m8
Got the same job on tomorrow both gables cut up ready for the detail courses doing the same style👌
Fantastic mate 💪💪
Bed joint under your angled brick should be flush also not concave.
Great work mate. So good to see pride in work and not worry about time or money. Imagine how all these new estates would look given a bit more thought and time.
Thank you very much buddy! I do enjoy taking my time (when I can) and getting things right. Does make a change from bashing all the time.👍👍👌
Although I do enjoy whipping up new builds, but you can still be tidy😄👍🍻
Neat job nice to see a bricklayer making his work his art and not just banging it up
Thank you very much mate appreciate it! Have a good weekend ☺️
Very nice detail mate, especially the cuts on the diamond up top. Good video to watch lad
Thanks alot buddy! Yea thought that was a nice little addition! Changed how I do cut ups now. Use a timber profile with 3 nails, 75mm 150mm and 225mm and put my line on whatever I'm laying..rather than that silly balancing act with the line
Appreciate our comment fella! 👍🍻
Nice job young man. You need some help!! Good vid. New subscriber. Keep em comin!!
Thanks buddy! Appreciate it:)
Very tidy job young man ! Respect from Scotland.
Cheers Jim, appreciate it! Hope your well mate, and not getting tio wet up there😂🌧🌧
@@IzzytheBricky We are used to shit summers and wet winters in Scotland lol ! But the flooding has been bad up here but nothing we ain't seen before. For such a young tradesman you have a wise head on your shoulders and your videos are very enjoyable to watch. Keep up the good work.
I like your work Izzy. You must have had a really skilful mentor when you started up . 😁
Haha cheers Doug mate, I did mate👌 Brilliant bloke who I often still work with👌 He also likes to remind me "I've forgotten more than you know" 😂😂😂
@@IzzytheBricky Thats exactly what i used to say to young engineering apprentices. They would say " You've taught me all you know, what did we do in the afternoon? " 😂😂
Hahaha love it mate😂🍻🍻
Very impressive....Great workmanship
Thanks Woody😊
Nice work bro💪🏼
Cheers mate
@@IzzytheBricky all good mate, is good to see someone about my age smashing it too 🧱💪🏼

Thanks a lot brother! Much appreciated 😁👍
Very nice work man!
Thanks fella 💪💪💪 first video this was 🥹
@@IzzytheBrickyoh no way haha I didn’t even realize that. Great vid to start!
@@Devon-Harvey haha cheers mate appreciate it 💪💪
5:43 the half brick on right hand side of soldier course is WAY OUT of plumb.
You fabric flashing should extend at bare minimum flush to face of lintel. Flashing should be sealed down to lintel to prevent water from entering below it.
Great work and great early video. I have watched a lot of your more recent videos and noticed and welcomed fewer naughty words.
Just stumbled upon your channel. Great work.. liked and subscribed.
Cheers mate thank alot buddy 👍👍
Sick video buddy 👍🏻
Yes yes cheers brother
Really nice job Izzy
Thank you very much mate appreciate it
Mint, mate.....you are a classy trowel. 👍
Thanks mate! This job is all done now. Put a post up on my community section 😊👍
Fooking lovely youth
Are the dog tooth's aesthetic choice or is there some structural reason for them?
Hi mate good question, it's only for decorative reasons ☺️
@@IzzytheBricky In that case, what a fucking pain 🤣
3mins in “apart from that block there, awe fuck off” 🤣 keep up the good work
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Top work mate! Glad to have dropped across your channel, great content👍 From your clues in the video description this must have been a job for RAMMA. Craig Ramage?⚽️
Cheers mate glad you enjoyed it and found the channel! Hahaha and YES it is mate😂😂😂👍👍👌 he cracks me up mate
11:50 any and all internal corner vertical joints should be finished flush. They should not be struck with a convex jointer. The bed joints are struck into the corners.
Your recessed heads should be flush on the vertical or really angled joint. Your joints at 21:21 on the rake should be flat with a slicker/ jointer not rough because you used a round jointer. Otherwise job is neat.
Cheers mate👌 I thought the internal corners was just a personal preference thing, thank you for letting me know mate!
I have been reading and making mental notes of all your comments 👌
@@IzzytheBricky if you do it with concave jointer it looks sloppy and wide. Get a flat slicker 1/2" wide, cut blade down to 2" long then you can get in anywhere. Faster to do vertical joints before you close over the top.
Looks smart that does mate 👍👍👍👌quality
Thanks mate! Appreciate it 😁👍
just cruising through the comments looking for the one bloke telling how shit of a job it is. Cause there always is one!
😂😂😂😂 you'll find one or two I'm sure😂😂
Cushtyyy pal 👌
Yeaa boii
Great video bud!
Thanks Cody 🍻
Starting from the beginning mate🍺🍺👍
Hahaha brilliant stuff! Let me know how far you get before you get boarded. My older videos have more time lapses 😂
quality work great to see.
Thank you buddy! The rain slowed me down but we got there!
Brilliant mate. Only thing it's a alternative recessed dental course, not dog tooth. Very good work matey. I'm 46 years .
Very neat
Wasnt thinking when I was talking about it haha! Thank you very much for your support and comment buddy!
Good trowel. And tips.
