This anime is based on a manga series that it's it's adapting so it was written by the mangaka with the help of his editors. Still funny regardless XD

I feel like there had to have been some sort of middle ground they could've taken to have everyone look the same instead of having the females and males look so wildly different. It never stops being jarring when you see them side by side.

I always had the fan theory of that the whole reason why females of each species looked like humans was due to humans in their universe being more fertile creatures and having a (most times) weaker genetics. So that the children would more likely take after their mother.
And before you ask, I know what the reason is. I just find it fun to add a type of logic in this otherwise crazy world.
