    2:09 Pennsylvania Dutch! It's a lot like the dialect we speak in the Saar region in Germany. Love your videos =)

      Yes, I print quite a few books about PA dutch, still used by the Amish in the area I live. Thanks for watching!

    Can you add a slip sheet between group sorting? 1,1/2,2/3,3?

      I don’t think you can. I have always wanted to do that.

      The 1200 is what I use, but is very outdated. The 6120 is their newest machine.

    We use Konica Flux which does this but much easier - In flux you just set pages b/w and the colour pages. Then select colour split (1 x Konica bw press 1x Konica Colour press) Hit print. The colour will then print on the colour press and you insert that into the inserter P1 or P2 on the BW press then hit print. Very easy to do

      What? Thats awesome. I saw software by Oce that did that but didn't know Konica had it. Very cool!

    I do the same. If I’m using the finisher to stitch books, I’ll use the post inserter to insert heavier cover stock that I’ve already printed and scored

      Hmm, could be a many things. Maybe try different paper? Or change machine speed, try different plates, clean rollers, move the paper stack to the right or left a bit to see if its catching on something.

    Hi Dan i am having some issues when printing booklet. If I print booklet from the printer software will leave a white spine in the center. Si I edited the file in photoshop so the files will match. But then photoshop is converting the file to srgb and all the colors have a blueish tint . What software do you use to organize a booklet if you don't get it ready for print

    • @justaprinter
      @justaprinter  3 года назад

      Adobe Indesign. I impose with other software then. Photoshop isn;t good for layout. It can be done though. Make sure you convert you CMYK and it should be good.

      Try PLDA Acrobat plug-in for pdf imposing: www.plda.net/ Cheap and effective solution, works with Acrobat Standard/Professional (NOT Acrobat Reader!!). Fully functional for 14 day - no watermarks.

    Hi Dan.
    What do you set your colored slip sheet as in the EFI preferences?
    I used a KM 7000 printer in the print shop I work in before but now it's all Canon, and I feel like a good trick to use colored slip sheets could help me in the long run for my daily production.
    Keep up the good work with great respect from Norway 🇧🇻

    Can you pre-collate the colored pages and insert at multiple locations?

    • @justaprinter
      @justaprinter  3 года назад +1

      Yes you can. It works fine as long as there are no jams. Once you get out of sequence it can be bad. When I do that I like to check the integrity of page insertion on every few books.

      Yes, I do a decent amount of Pennsylvania German book printing. It brings back the four year of German I had in high school.

      Totally, I print up to 18pt on my 3070. 14pt and 16pt 4/4 every day.

    • @justaprinter
      @justaprinter  3 года назад +1

      I wouldn't on my 1200 but yes for the 3070 and 1070.

    • @chrisbarton1517
      @chrisbarton1517 3 года назад

      @Wayne M 16pt c2s is 350 gsm which is what the 3070 is rated for (with the PF 707 vacuum feed drawers) 18 Pt is 400 GSM and yes, I know exactly what you're referring to. 20 years ago when I got my first KM C6500 it was rated to 12 pt but we'd run 14 pt all the time because we could. Eventually after a couple of million copies we stopped getting perfect registration when running 4/4 on 14 pt. So yeah, I will only occasionally run 18 pt now because I don't want to wear stuff out prematurely....but 14 and 16pt? All day long if I have the work.

    Sleeve p/n: 454053391. Try some high temp grease on the sleeves. It will help them last longer, it can make the room stinky though.
