Yang is very impressive. Even with the constant interruptions and eggings on, he refused to fall into bait. Yang is laser-focused on solving the problems of average Americans.
You mean avoiding answering direct questions? Every politician does this, come in with rehearsed lines about "helping average Americans", and not clearly stating their stance and plan on tackling various problems.
Mari most of the questions are bait answers to create controversy and no, don’t expect policy explanation or solutions in a comedy stint lol. You’re in the wrong place if you expected that.
Hasan, I love you and I watch this show religiously, but if I could give one piece of constructive criticism, it'd be let the man finish his thoughts before jumping in with a comedic line. Like sometimes I actually wanted to hear what he had to say.
Yes I agree, even though this is the most I have enjoyed watching andrew Yang outside debates and campaigning, yes Hasan should of been a little more laxed back, but yeah Hasan did look over excited to have him on the show almost to the point of showing off. LOL
I have never in my whole life since I was 18 as a voter ever have I been enthusiastic about a single presidential candidate. Never. I’m 68 years old so what that?math. I will do whatever it takes to vote for Andrew Yang!

CHIGGA what are you talking about, Biden and Bernie are the highest polling Democrats yet only Yang can beat Trump? Also if Bernie wins how will America be worse off. I can understand your point if Biden wins but Bernie’s policies are the most revolutionary in the Democratic field. Also, it’s rich to say that Bernie has one policy and its healthcare when Yang pretty much only has UBI as his main policy and its the only one unique to him. Bernie has healthcare, college education, the best climate policies in the democratic field, the best worker and labour rights, guaranteed housing, I could go on. My problem with Yang is with his supporters, I think UBI is a pretty good policy but what does he have after that? It’s all just having a wank over the fact that he like statistics which isn’t a bad thing but it shouldn’t make you president.
@@matthewbaker9176 Bernie: "No one who works full time should be in poverty" Yang: "No one should be in poverty" Bernie has solutions that maybe would have been better implemented 30-40 years ago. He's stuck in the mindset of everything that's been wrong with the government through his entire life, which is not to say his ideas to fix these problems don't have merit, BUT Yang is not only putting forward solutions to fix those same old problems, but also the new problems that are coming (millions of Americans being displaced from work due to automation), as well as seeing an imbalance in the economy that no one else is addressing: the likes of Google and Amazon not really paying taxes, but having most of the wealth. Yang isn't targeting the 1% per se, he's not villianizing the rich the way Bernie and Warren are, he's not punishing people for being successful; he IS proposing to implement solutions that even the field while giving a little something back to everyone- 1% included. UBI helps alleviate so many problems its actually a bit mind boggling how its not been put into practice sooner. And it helps tens of dozens of issues while removing tons of red tape because it isn't means tested. That to me is the biggest thing. Its simple and effective on so many fronts. Whereas back on Bernie's side the FJG or minimum wage increase puts more red tape, and does nothing to improve the lives of the disabled, elderly, self employed, stay at home parents/ caregivers, or students who would better spend their time on schoolwork. In addition, FJG and $15 minimum wage would only cause small businesses to have to fire employees or give them less hours at the very least, as well as speed up automation in various fields such as clerical & accounting, fast food & retail, and call center jobs.
Until this segment the only policy from Yang I heard of was the money giving one, but now I had to realize he's about so much more, and his policies are pretty good. The media really did a disservice to this guy.
EXACTLY. Hasan was able to pack so much into this rather than let Yang slip into over-elaborating on his general talking points which are the only things the headlines cover. This will get people interested not only in the major policies Yang has, but also the niche ones.
Seems intentional the boys at the top have a lot to lose if yang wins. Companies aren’t used to the government being ahead of them usually three steps behind.
Yang has over 150+ policies on his website. More than any other candidate. Not only has the media done a disservice, they're basically shooting themselves in the foot by ignoring him. He's the only real shot we have at beating Trump.
I’ve been a Bernie and Marianne fan but man, I’m really starting to like Andrew Yang. He seems to be very compassionate and has a fresh outlook..plus he can roll with all of Hasan’s jokes - That takes wit, patience and maturity!

@@epicbeautyo I've liked him ever since I watched his interview with Joe Rogan a while back. Bernie will always have my vote first but I'd gladly vote Yang if he became the candidate. Though they have different ways to achieve it, they both have the same end goal, and I admire their authenticity.
Sergio Martinez yea but Hasan’s adderall-fueled shitty jokes and attitude in this is awful, and the audience is cringy. I don’t like yang but this was awful on Hasans part.
I think everyone is missing the point of what Hasan is doing here. Yes its possible he is hyper, but in my opinion I think he is actually doing it on purpose and doing it to see how Yang handles it. Yang handled it perfectly and it actually showed his strengths over anything else. I think Hasan really likes YANG and that is why his goal here is to show the good parts of YANG, which to me he achieved PERFECTLY! and the title of this video is literally what HASAN is doing. He's testing YANG. Tell me you don't like YANG after watching this.
I think trying to get Yang to go along with his jokes was a good idea. I love Yang, but truthfully he's more of an informative guy, and he appeals to people with his facts over his personality/humor.
i was thinking the same thing. i think hasan is just ahead of the curve and knows that youtube is quickly becoming a formidable platform. adapt or die.
The most positive thing about him is the fact that he goes to right wing channels and debate them. The USA is divided to left and right like never before. If he's ok on both sides then it's a big plus
I'm voting for Bernie, but I like Yang's personality and he seems to really care about people. Bernie takes it to a whole new level though. He recently helped save a suicidal veteran's life. m.ruclips.net/video/Y4sQ_DsXbG4/видео.html

I don't support Andrew Yang. He tried to co-opt Medicare For All when he did not believe in the actual bill or eliminating private insurance. Now he comes outs with his own public option plan after campaigning on Medicare for All and including it in his ads (twitter.com/fshakir/status/1187060392238948353). His plan is a inadequate: "Instead of a comprehensive plan addressing access to health care and insurance affordability like the ones proposed by the other frontrunners, he addresses a mishmash of seemingly unconnected issues, from telemedicine to tort reform to electronic medical records. It is unclear why some issues warrant Andrew Yang’s attention and not others. Sure, making HIV prevention medication and reproductive health care more widely available are worthy goals, but there’s no coherence or overarching policy" (VOX). Where policies like "tort reform" actually make it harder for patients to file malpractice lawsuits: "Tort reform of medical malpractice litigation has made it very expensive and time consuming to pursue a medical malpractice case" (SENIORJUSTICE, PBS). Further, "The plan also doesn't address the tens of millions of people who are uninsured or those who are struggling to pay their insurance plans’ high premiums, co-pays or deductibles. Additionally, it isn’t clear how Yang would accomplish several of the provisions in his plan. He pledges, for instance, to “ensure Americans have access to comprehensive sexual and reproductive care, including STI screenings, contraception, and abortion” but does not indicate what combination of executive orders and legislation that would entail - other than repealing Trump’s Title X rule that cut funding to Planned Parenthood." (POLITICO). We need M4A now. @@UT3CTF Have you actually done the math on the tax or are you just pulling numbers out of your ass? You'd have to spend $60k a year on luxury goods in order for the tax to take as much money from you as you get back from the dividend.
@@Grapevin it's 10k a month of spending to achieve 1k in taxes off the VAT, and since the VAT won't apply to most consumer products directly even that number is off. The big income from the VAT is the buying and selling of your data, which is a billion dollar industry that is completely untaxed and unregulated. Considering movie/music/game artists consider piracy of their creations "theft" our data being taken and sold around to everybody should also be considered theft. Biggest problem people have with the UBI he proposes, is they have no idea what it is.
Rust Cohle No you are not the math guy. Ok let’s do the math: America’s average annual income is $40,000. Let’s say people spend 80% of their earn, that is $32,000 per year. If we put 10% on VAT, the tax addition is $3,200, much less than extra income of $12,000 UBI. Actually, the UBI is trying to help the poor. If you earn over $150,000 annually, it’s likely your VAT contribution outweighs $12,000. But most Americans earn at $40,000-$60,000 a year.
Which is kinda funny, because the dude who thought up malls actually wanted them to be these local places for the community to meet each other and come together. Both cultural and social spots for everyone. Instead they became commercialised to the degree that they were the exact opposite of what the guy wanted. "Originally, Gruen envisioned shopping malls as something of an urban paradise, with massive green spaces, fountains, and running water interspersed with stores of all sorts and public services like banks and post offices. It wasn’t long-only a few decades-before more commercially minded designers seized on the idea, turning it into what we know today as the shopping mall, and causing Gruen to disavow any affiliation with the tragedy." How fucked up is that?!
@@lagrange777able When I was a kid that's what they were. @Turquoise Cheetah From Yang's website: "For many Americans, guns are a big part of their culture and identity. That must be respected. However, guns are a major responsibility and thus we need to have common-sense gun safety measures, especially considering that there are already approaching 400 million firearms in the United States. Responsible gun owners should continue to enjoy the right to bear arms, subject to licensing and education requirements that will enhance public safety."

The fact that Yang never smacked him with a quick backhand clearly shows that he has the patience of a saint. Hasan was either REALLY excited to be able to talk to Yang or he slammed a dozen energy drinks right before this interview.
Andrew Yang is a great sport. When given more than 7 minutes to talk, he has some really good ideas. In particular, I like his data idea. A great sport and good humor.

Yang has been on my radar for about 2 years. The man has come a LONG way. I think with the right Cabinet, he could really make America a happier place. That sounds cheesy but the dude legitimately seems to want people to just have a better life in every area. Not just with healthcare and gun safety.
Hasan obviously is SUPER afraid of losing his audience's attention. So true. And I feel torn about it because considering how they jipped him for time - I kinda wanted him to take up more of what little time they did give him :P but his ability to be concise, direct, to actually answer the question- in less time than the other candidates take to NOT answer questions, just one more thing that distinguishes him

When we do this, we don't say that destroying the building is a radical means of building, for we recognize that sometimes the past can be a detriment to the future of a country. Since in the last 40 to 50 years, the idea of a gradual change has not produced the desired result, you sometimes need to make the radical shift in order to cause a movement of change to build. We saw this with the end of apartheid, segregation, slavery, women's rights and so on. In that time, these ideas were considered radical, now they are the common theme. The only hindrance to social change is fear.

@@iMusikkForeva Yang wasn't there to do comedy. Rehearsed lines are needed so his message can reach the most amount of people.

@@matthewbaker9176 Bernie: "No one who works full time should be in poverty"
Yang: "No one should be in poverty"
Bernie has solutions that maybe would have been better implemented 30-40 years ago. He's stuck in the mindset of everything that's been wrong with the government through his entire life, which is not to say his ideas to fix these problems don't have merit, BUT
Yang is not only putting forward solutions to fix those same old problems, but also the new problems that are coming (millions of Americans being displaced from work due to automation), as well as seeing an imbalance in the economy that no one else is addressing: the likes of Google and Amazon not really paying taxes, but having most of the wealth.

Further,
"The plan also doesn't address the tens of millions of people who are uninsured or those who are struggling to pay their insurance plans’ high premiums, co-pays or deductibles.
There's no time for anything else, people are dying everyday from lack of access to healthcare and/or going into massive debt from medical expenses.

ALSO I'm so down for his mall stuff because we NEED more sources of art/theatre in America. We need a renaissance
It wasn’t long-only a few decades-before more commercially minded designers seized on the idea, turning it into what we know today as the shopping mall, and causing Gruen to disavow any affiliation with the tragedy."
How fucked up is that?!

As a result, he's the only one paying attention to how automation has already, and will continue to, depress quality of life in the U.S. if we don't introduce a mechanism for the gains from automation to benefit the people, instead of just the rich.
2) His "one idea?" That is ignorance on whole other level! Check out how it would serve as compensation for vitally important work that the market doesn't value, like raising kids. Check out how it would be the most effective boost to education ever introduced. Check out how the VAT is a tax that's proven effective in every industrialized country of the world. Check out how it's one of the most bipartisan major reforms ever conceptualized, supported by famous Republican economists Milton Friedman, Greg Mankiw, 1k leading economists in the 60s, MLK, passed the House twice under Nixon, and has been in effect for 40 years in Alaska as possibly their most popular policy ever.

He's gonna be the coolest president. Man, can't wait.

I like how much Hasan interrupted bec it shows how well Yang is at speaking under these circumstances and staying on track. This is really important for a debate.
exactly, no one seem to get that and just shits on hasan lmao.
Tiana22ify good point!!
@@SmarTrader yeah true.
At all the past debates Andrew Yang is the only candidate that respects his time. Yang doesn't ramble on and on. He makes his point quickly, effectively and respectfully.
He actually answers the question that was asked as well, and legitimately responds to criticisms from his policy rather than getting defensive and huffy.
So true. And I feel torn about it because considering how they jipped him for time - I kinda wanted him to take up more of what little time they did give him :P but his ability to be concise, direct, to actually answer the question- in less time than the other candidates take to NOT answer questions, just one more thing that distinguishes him
@@bodybalancer He actually follows debate rules; the others do not and are not penalized for it as they should be. The moderators also don't follow their own rules of equal time. How many of us need to hear endless BS from Biden, Bernie and the other well known candidates? We need to hear from the new possibilities.
He's the man
I like this about him - there's a reason he excelled on the international debate team.

Andrew Yang is crazy smart and has a great history. I recommend anyone to look into what he has done.
Skipped grades in school, perfect SAT score by 15, Duel Graduate from Columbia and Brown. 1st startup before the .Com bust was worth over $250,000. Started a "test-prep" company that was eventually bought out by WaPo in 2008 (he gave large bonuses to all his employs from the sale). Started a non profit "Venture for America" and has 2 books published "Smart People Should Build Thing" and "The War on Normal People".
-In 2012, Yang was called a "Champion of Change" by the Obama administration. In 2015, he was again acknowledged by the Obama administration as a "Presidential Ambassador for Global Entrepreneurship"
Yang’s vision for America is where I want to be.

The power to choose what you do with a FETUS growing inside your body. His site also states "The two most effective ways to decrease the number of abortions are to provide every woman with access to contraceptives and to provide financial, emotional, and structural support to individuals who are financially struggling and become pregnant"

Actually, early humans were taught agriculture by advanced civilizations. They were never really hunter-gathers unless you're referring to humanoids that are older than man.
@@artisanmage5378 So you're referring to Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren. Bernie? yes! he is radical when you compare him to all the other candidates including Warren. But is being radical really a bad thing? We destroy a building in order to put up a new one.

It'd be great if a president could actually understand Silicon Valley
Alix Night it’d be even greater if more of Congress understood Silicon Valley. They’re the ones that make the laws and most of them have no clue about one of the biggest influences in the US economy.
AOC dragging Mark Zuckerberg on the House floor shouldn’t be a special occurrence. It should be the norm while Congress legislates in a way that gives people like Zuckerberg less and less opportunity to do things to be dragged for.
It's obvious that Yang is not only more intelligent but also funnier than other candidates combined!
This interview just made Yang 30% more endearing to me
We need more people like A. Yang in politics.
Hasan might've interrupted too much, but overall I thought it was great. Entertaining, and Yang did a very good job staying on point.
I thought I was the only one who felt that way, but I get it-you still need to keep it a fun and spontaneous so I tried to not be so annoyed after a while.
It was really fun! I think he helps Andrew out with his interrupting, shows how well Yang thinks on his feet. The dude is seriously impressive with his ability to speak to all kinds of issues facing the American people, and he does it all with a great sense of humor. Andrew Yang is the only campaign that isn't based on anger, that's how you bring people together.
As an introvert, I find the experience of being interrupted when I'm about to explain something important very relateable 😑

I think it went great. I think Hasan was hyped to interview Yang and Yang's a good guy and funny. He came off as a nice and the kind of guy who knows how to joke and get with the vibe in the room. Thanks for making him appear on your show!
“Sometimes tech doesn’t look like it’s working, then someone makes some advance” - prophetic. The same day he qualified for the December debate, an automated truck completed it’s first Cross-country trip in Under 3 Days, with 40,000 lbs of cargo for Land O Lakes (not a small startup lol), and the kicker is.. it did so with ZERO Human Interventions.
Think about the All the things cell phones displaced these days. Flashlights, cameras, clocks, landlines, copiers, mail, etc. All that in one device which would cause a decrease production and manufacturing in those items. Definitely some job loses over the years. Tech and AI is replacing things so fast under our noses that it’s become such a norm and the government hasn’t really stepped up addressing these changes. Yang is the only candidate bringing up these changes. He wants us to prepare ourselves before it’s too late. Freedom dividend will let us save up and prepare an environment for these changes. Yang2020!
@@Adorabella0827 Freedom Dividend allows everyone to go back to college or a trade school and learn a skill in tech, like a repair technician or a automate supervisor or automate controller to watch these AIs and AI controlled vehicles. Hell even cab and uber drivers will be replaced by AI conrolled by google, car mechanics will be replaced later on once electric cars being controlled and driven by AI starts to replace our current automotive vehicles in the near future. It might take awhile or it might be very soon since tech, like Yang said, can make a giant leap forward in an instant at any given time, its not always linear progress.

But this time, Yang's my guy. A 21st Century upgrade.
Aging is real; I don't think *anyone* could cope with all the incoming at 80+.
Posts like this are so common... worries me that Sanders and Yang will split their votes while Warren or Biden take it. I know the Sanders supporters will quickly say "Yang should just drop then" but I have a lot of Republican friends and family and while some support Yang and some are still considering him Every. Single. One. Has said they'd vote against Sanders. They are all very strong and consistent in that. I love Bernie, but I'm afraid he doesn't beat Trump. He proudly pronounces himself as socialist and has just too strongly alienated himself from the right. That's not even considering the age issue. This impeachment stuff has the right pumped to show America how wrong the impeachment is... they will be voting in force... we need someone further from left to win. I know the strong Bernie Bros will strongly disagree but hopefully enough will realize and see this in time. Don't take my word for it. Reach to the other side. Find a friend/family member that is Republican and ask them if they'd consider Bernie.
