As a person who grew up a Christian mostly for the melodies, stained glass & statues, I find my new life with a Jewish family much more satisfying. Jewish musical tradition allows the cantor and the assembly the strength to take the music to a much higher level. This might sound odd- but on Yom Kippur during Yitzka- I feel connected to family that has passed. Perhaps it’s the fasting and the meaning of the day- but for a moment? Maybe I’m crazy
