  • In this video, we show you how to replace a high pressure power steering line on a 2008 Honda CR-V. This line was leaking, and the driver could hear the good ol' whine from a power steering pump with low fluid. This job is definitely do-able for a DIYer.
I also replaced the starter in this exact same Honda CRV:

Did this job today on my 2007 CRV. Your video was very helpful. Thank you for the effort to record it. I tried the driver side wheel approach to remove the large fitting on the end of the line. This approach does not provide enough clearance unless you have the crowfoot wrench, which I did not have. So I removed the air filter housing like you did.

For that last bolt at the end, I ended up using a bolt cutter to cut the old line off so that you can get a 21 mm socket wrench on a breaker bar in there to break it free. Hope that helps someone.

Thanks for the great video! Need to do this on our daughter's 07 CRV. Got the part in yesterday. I've done same job on our 2010 Odyssey - not too bad. Do you have any torque specs? Especially for the line connection at the rack? Thx.

I can't seem to thread it back in. Any tips?

If it’s already bolted in, try unbolting the 10mm closest to the threads to free it up a bit.

Cut the line next time and just use a socket

True, you can definitely do that. On my own car, I would absolutely. On a customer car, I only do that if I have no choice (usually rust/corrosion) just in case there's an issue with the new part and customer needs their vehicle back.
