Strictly from a technical point of view, this is a cottage pie because it's made with beef. Shepherd's pie would be with lamb. And because we Brits are weird, we say 'wooster sheer' sauce! My wife loves your channel.....and I love your food. We had your Brussels sprouts recipe with our Christmas dinner and, gosh, it was scrummy, ( the missus hates sprouts......has done for 67 years. I love making soup as well as meatloaf or any kind of chicken roast beef or pork roasts. I love making shepherds pie, it's awesome. It's called Cottage Pie when it's made with ground beef. I put mashed cauliflower on mine since I'm trying to be careful with my carb intake.
I make mine with sloppy Joe sauce instead of tomato paste and cornbread on the bottom, absolutely love this cozy dish. Chili, tomato soup and Italian dishes are pretty big meals in our house this season.

Definitely cottage or shepherds pie are one of our favorites. I got my recipe from a British friend. Other winter comforts are soups and chilis( red, white and green, we lobe the all) chicken and dumplings and oddly a very simple ( no canned soups) tuna casserole.

Omgoooosh ‼️‼️ This dish brought back WONDERFUL memories when we were in England 🏴 at Christmas time visiting our son who was attending the University of West Minister… it definitely was a staple when we would go into Pubs for beer 🍺 & dinner. I will DEFINITELY try this recipe, And I loved the individual dishes which of course reminded me again of England ‼️ Thank you 🥰
Oh, those look heavenly. I need to make those. I would have to substitute green beans, as I am allergic to peas. Hopefully it will not change the original taste, or just leave the peas out altogether. I love peas though. Have eaten them most of my life. Just last couple of years developed an allergy. I usually like a nice hot bowl of chili and cornbread. And a cup of Earl Grey tea. Been raining here for two days. Perfect weather for these foods. 🥐🥘🌧💦 ☕️

It looks so delicious. I have a question, does this recipe freeze well? I am an empty nester and freezing allows me to have homemade meals without having to cook daily.
Love your videos. One thing I might suggest is making your voice at the same sound level as the music. Each time you stop talking & the music comes back on, I have to turn it down because it is too loud hurts my ears.

In Canada we call it shepherd’s pie and in French, pâté Chinois! And we only use corn.

My Nana made it similar to this but instead of tomato paste she used tomato soup and she also put cheese on top of the potato.
