Tatum and Brown are mirrors of each other. Both are inconsistent and have huge holes in their games. I’ve watched Boston the past 4 years in the playoffs and don’t see much difference between Brown/Tatum games. This isn’t a KD/Westbrook or LeBron/Dwade where one player is obviously better than the other(ie Kd And LeBron were undeniably the best player in their respective duo). Arguments can be made for either Brown or Tatum being the better player. Personally I would say Boston should keep Brown because he’s shown more leadership traits than Tatum and as bad as he was in Game7 has also been way more consistent than flaky Tatum

If last night proved anything, it's that Brown is not capable of being a #1 option on a team. Sure, he could probably average well over 30 points a game if given the type of usage a #1 option gets, but he has some very obvious flaws that'll get exposed more if he gets his own team. His ball handling and shot selection is on the level of Michael Porter Jr. And MPJ is a good player, but everyone knows when he gets the ball, he's putting up a shot no questions asked. Brown is almost the exact same except when he does put the ball on the floor, he almost can never move the ball and makes stupid turnovers. He had 8 turnovers last night. That's only going to be magnified if he's the best player on your team.

Bruh I’ve never seen a duo that actually has success be told they should break up, since they’ve both been in the league they only missed the conference finals twice, 2019,2021 every other year they are the last four teams left, let’s not forget that they’ve had to deal with kyrie, kemba, Hayward, all coming in and trying to make it work. As well as having 3 coaches in 3 years, they haven’t had a consistent coach during their careers. Maybe the issue is as simple as having a coach to its with them

That's because the conference finals stopped being the standard for success last year. The last two years they've had the experience, roster, and talent as a duo, and the injury breaks against teams who may have potentially beat them to win championship. When OKC blew that 3-1 lead there were talks of if they should stay together. Plus the talks of them breaking up become even more of a topic considering that you have to pay both of them. Part of the reason they were able to make so many conference finals is that the Celtics had the luxury of not having to pay either the supermax.

Bottom line: they need stability including at the coaching position. Give Joe one more year to deal with the composure and motivation problem and let the players get comfortable with their coach.

The dou isn't the problem. They have a very small team and in the playoffs teams are not only a lot bigger but a lot more skilled. The other problem they have is their 3rd scoring option is not their 3rd option - it should be Brogdan and it is smart and when smart is your 3rd option that is not good. It should be Tatum/Brown/Brogdon and after that I'd say White and or Horford then Smart, and Smarts only in that place because he is on the court long enough do to defense prowes. The fact is the Celtics aren't as stacked as people think. They have 5 hoopers/ballers (tatum/brown/prichard/white) and the 3rd don't play and the 4th goes off when he wants to (rarely) but the fact is there are over a dozen teams in the league that have more hoopers than the Celtics. they just have a large number of players who are better than average 3-point shooters and when the hoopers are going off the team outshoots other teams. THE FACT IS THEY NEED A RESHUFFLE AND THE DOU ISN'T THE PROBLEM!!!

First off teh celtics are so small if Brooker was on that team they would be even smaller and would get killed, especially since Brooker doesn't play defense unlike Brown or Tatum and KD plays defense when he wishes unlike Brown and Tatum. Bron n AD add size and AD would make them better interior but but Brown and Tatum are better for ball roation them then 2 and having all those above 3 point shooters having stars that don;t hold the ball is key and they are worse shooters than both Celtics SO NO... and Jokic and Murrey are worse defenders then both of them though as far as scoring it would be about even and passing would be about even as I'd say Murray is the worse passer out of all 4... THE DOU IS NOT TH EPROBLEM THE PROBLEMS AS I STATED 1. they are way to small as a team 2. they have less skilled players scoring more points than other more skilled offensive players though it is an odd situation because smart scores so much because his defense allows him to be on the court so much 3. they have many above average 3 point shooters but many teams have more hoopers than them...

Healthy Lonzo would have been perfect. They also need to go back to having the defense as their identity & stop falling in love with the 3pt. They're deadly whenever they're consistently acting the rim. Especially JT. Lastly, they need a big who can score in the paint & outside consistently. Someone that teams have to worry about. Horford is too old & Williams needs help down there.
