  • It takes a lot to achieve big things in life, the first step is become visionary and the other step is to work towards it. I have learned so much from Shafiqa and would want you all get as inspired as much as I am. She is currently working for Google Office, in Warsaw, Poland. We met last year where she briefly mentioned about dreaming herself in Google office, watch this video to find out how did she get here and what vision and actions you can take if you want to go big in life.

Allah had instructed Muslims to strive to be successful in both in this world and hereafter. Yes...we should care more for our Akhirat but look at our community. We are Not successful in this world neither in Akhirat...well I can't say for Akhirat...it's upto Allah...but I can only assume what I see in today's Muslims.
We must get both Islamic education and Professional education and try to be successful in both world. Also we must follow Islam properly.
May Allah guide our Muslim Ummah😢

@@jioboy2676 while we must strike a balance between deen and duniya, we must not go too overboard with duniya so much that our daughters r sent alone abroad in a western country with open sex culture and mingle with non Muslim Na mehrams without representing our Islamic identity. Instead we should all represent Islam wherever we go, as muslim sons and daughters wearing Hijab. If not, than keeping the hijab in our heart at least..Yes we all r weak and we are less than the mark..but it is good our girls r shining bright..and they will evolve and regain our identity back instead of just copying the west.

I’m from kashmir and all my life we have seen bloodshed and it was really hard to me to move out of that environment back in 2012 but I did it will all my capability and today I’m in US working for a software company with my family. I wish we had somebody like Junaid back in the day to guide us. And for sure Pakistani girls are emasculate in terms of knowledge and logic. I have some Pakistani colleagues here who are doing good in their lives. My love for all of you!

Faang is also hiring from Pakistan now a days but hiring depends on few box ticking criteria....like gender= female, representation from minority sphere of Pakistan and world class research papers with lot of international citations....third one is out of context for Pakistan coz of the quality of academia here, so the other two factors definitely half in garnering your odds to be selected at hub of diversity and political correctness of this planet earth

My internet also went down during final interview with one of the largest IT company of Pakistan. Unlike google they became furious and their HR cutoff all communication with me despite knowing what kind of internet connections we have in Pakistan. That shows the how much Pakistani companies lack in professionalism especially their HR
Local Pakistan companies has to invest on HR and attitude needs to change. HR of local companies always come with the attitude that they are doing very big favor by hiring you, despite the fact it their job to look for the best talent.

Internet issue in Karachi ye sun kar hasi bhi aayi aur tum logon ki halat pa rona bhi aaya..here in india i got 100MBPS in just 800 a month .. i am also from IT so i am well aware of how my countrymen are dominating this industry.

I grew up in a very small village, did my high school (10th grade) from my pind's school. We had no science/math teacher. Did my FSc and BSc from Jaranwala followed by MSc from GC Lahore (Punjab University). Then I did my PhD from University of Illinois, USA and worked as faculty in several US Universities. Point is, if you have determination and work hard, you can achieve whatever you want.
Most Pakistani students want things easy way. I have rarely seen admission applications from Pakistani students in the universities where I worked here in US. There are lot more students from Nepal and Bangladesh who apply for graduate school. Most admission applications come from Indian students. Most Pakistani students are lazy and don't do TOEFL/IELTS and GRE, the basic requirements for admission to most graduate programs.

I wish her the best but this kind of thing reminds me of my father's and family's story. Be careful what you strive for. In the late 1960s, he was the first and only person in our entire family to become a "working professional". He was the 11th and last child of an illiterate subsistence farmer from the Potohar region of Punjab. Incredibly smart but not very interested in academics, he was forced/pushed by his eldest brother who was in the Navy to get an education. My uncle dragged my father to Karachi when he was 16 years old and enrolled him in the colleges there. Eventually, he graduated, top of his class, and he managed to get a "good job" in the government, based in Karachi back then, working in some stats based role. At some point his department was putting in mainframe computers and they did an aptitude test to select people for training in the United States by IBM. He was one of only 2 Pakistanis that were selected and sent to Washington, DC for this training. This whole thing changed the trajectory of his life and eventually after coming back to Pakistan, disillusioned by the country's corruption, he immigrated to Canada in the early 1970s, became a computer programmer, raised 2 sons who became engineers, and regularly sent remittances back home to help his "biraderi". But I think a huge part of him regrets it all. He sees that his next in age brother lived a life closest to his own father, raising livestock, living a simple life and dying while being surrounded by his family. Meanwhile, we are here in Canada, separated from our large family, living alienating lives, where work is the central focus. Personally, I find this life soul sucking, but hey if that's what you want: go for it. I'm stuck here working this "professional job", that involves staring at a computer for hours on end. I'm sure my many cousins back home envy what I have, but they have no idea, what we gave up for it and how priceless it was. Personally, I hate "modernity", working/living on digital devices, and all this noise of modern life.

Junaid Akram bhai u r doing such a great job...this is so inspiring and a very good initiative to motivate our new generation...i hav a similar story from my school which happened back in mid 1990s...one of our classfellows from Frontier Model School Peshawar who was very good with computers n maths named Fahad Aziz son of Khwaja Muhammad Waseem Sethi. He joined LUMS for his bachelors and suddenly he got hired by Microsoft after one of his virtual 3D market project. Since then he is at USA...microsoft financed his education n everything n later he joined them n presently he owns a company of his own in USA named Caremerge that works through AI and helping old homes n senior citizens for such solutions to take care of the elderly and many other achievements. Few years ago he was also interviewed at FOX News. U can also get in touch with him for a series of such interviews in order to motivate the youth n tell them how to chanelize their talent. He is in close liaison with NUST Incubation Centre, LUMS, NIC Peshawar and working a lot for Pakistani talent n youth as well as Pakistani investors. He works with Forbes these days.
