Making Fast Meal Coated Grass Seeds for Fireworks

This type of burst charge is usually used for smaller firework shells since the grass seeds are in smaller size in comparison to other materials that are being used to reduce the shell's weight and cut the cost of filling many shells. This is considered a more expensive method since the seeds, if store-bought, are not the cheapest alternative, but if you do find someone that plans to throw away "dead" grass seeds that won't grow in their yard, make sure to take that opportunity and save some money. Composition used to coat these is actually ball-milled granulated BP, that way I ensured I'll have fast coat on these seeds. Of course, I'm talking about my fast granulated BP.

Skylighter had a good tip -- Use a few percent of dextrin in the first 4 additions of bp, then the last addition is just straight bp - no dextrin.

I always used grass seeds before I had access to rice hulls, they do work almost the same as bp on rice hulls but I like the grass seeds more for smaller shells.

i am lookin into making fireworks for a while now, and to my disbelieve i found out KNO3 or Sulfur isnt anywhere to be found offline here in my country.. (no stump remover here in the netherlands).. one can buy it online tho, a whole KG of the stuff, and it isnt very expensive either, but when bought, one is on a watchlist from that point on..
