I'm also 51,& I remember these memories,& back then it was all we knew,& that was cool with me!! I enjoy the memories of items that I rarely think abt anymore, but I appreciate what we had @the time!
I had the Frito Bandito eraser when I was in 3rd or 4th grade. I remember I had a bad habit of gnawing on the top of his sombrero and one day during an especially hard pop quiz on fractions I bit the top off and accidentally swallowed it. I watched my poop for the next week hoping I would see that eraser again, but I never did. I hope it's not still floating around my innards all these decades later.
What a nice video. I collect 1970s to 90s tabloids and magazines, and memorbilia.i was born in 77 and will be 44 next summer. I only watch Anteana tv and MEtv.This era makes me happy. 🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂
The 'yellowed' handpiece of the rotary phone is evidence it was actually used 'back-in-the-day'. You weren't cool unless you woke-up to a clock-radio alarm in the 70s. 'Jacks' and that simple Viewmaster goes back to the late 60s. The Fisher-Price stuff became more interesting once it was teamed with automotive, space and railroad playsets. Silly Putty and Blasting Caps will outlive ANYTHING created in the 21st century. Wacky Packages ruled, and it was sought after even when it first came out. The 'Chu-Bops' were a 'silent' best-seller with a very limited production time.
So many fond memories come flooding back. I remember using Scotch tape to splice cassette tapes that would get caught in the tape player. I remember Saturday morning cartoons were such a big deal that they would have a Preview Special on the Friday night before the kickoff of the new season in September. I remember cashing in pop bottles for penny candy. Every store had a comic book rack, where the top rows were the new comics, the middle rows were the month old comics with the top half of the cover cut off, and the bottom rows had 2-3 older comics without covers, packaged together. I remember my Snoopy lunch box, and trading lunches at school. I always had a Dolly Madison cupcake, and other kids would trade their candy for it.
"Saturday morning cartoons were such a big deal that they would have a Preview Special on the Friday night before the kickoff of the new season in September." That's one thing kids are missing out on today. That one special day on the weekend where you could grab your favorite bowl of sugar coated diabetes (Mine was Capt Crunch with Crunchberries), plop down in front of the set all morning long and watch your favorite Sat morning cartoons.
Remember back when the word "sugar" was still in the name of so many cereals? Kellog's Sugar Frosted Flakes, Sugar Smacks, Sugar Crisp, and so many more..
Okay, for that gum that was inside famous album covers....how did that ever go away? It's brilliant! That is an absolute winner, I have never seen that before.
Yeah those baseball cups that came with ice cream here in Vegas in the late 70s they were at 7-Eleven’s and we got Slurpee’s in them very awkward to drink but the hats are cool I got about 30 of them myself
remember the mini football helmets the only way to get them all was to trade with your friends because you would get the same 5 or 6 teams and run out of money never got all the teams but i think i got 20 dallas cowboys(was a giants fan)
I got a lot of these but there is one thing you need in your collection. Do you remember the floater pens from the 70s? you would lean the pen one way and the womens clothes would come off....those were classic!
I could sit and remember everything I can from my childhood, and in fact I have to come up with fodder for my 3D art projects, but no matter how much I remember, no way would I recall that Freakies cereal. But now that I see it, it's so obviously familiar! I can remember the taste, the crunch. Much like several other cereals of those days, made from the same ingredients but with different cartoon characters on the box.
It's quite amazing that 90% of the products were the same in the US and the UK. Needless to say, we didn't have the sports memorabilia but had everything else. The grape ornament only rang a bell with the colour as it was the same as the Bambi glass ornaments we had, did you have them in the States? The cap bombs here in the UK were slightly different as they could use both the roll caps and the newer (back then) plastic cup caps. Thanks for uploading.
I had those EXACT flip flops with the stripes,& I wore them until I outgrew them,& by then, the heel area&the corner area by my big toes had worn down so much, that a couple layers of stripes wet worn down to a different order of colors !😂
I had that alarm clock though I don't think it was a GE one. Looked exactly the same though. Also, I still have like 16 blank cassette tapes still in their wrappers from the 80's.
Problem with today,no sincerity.I remember getting real glass magnifying glasses in Cracker Jacks, now it's cheap tattoo stickers. We were truly spoiled to be a kid in yesteryear.
If your ever in Trenton you should have a look in my favorite thrift store, red White and blue. It was my moms favorite too,god bless her.Ive found many nice things there
Oh no! I’m American, from Arizona, and I can verify that they did refer to flip flops as thongs, it was in the 1990 that thong became attached to women’s undies and fell out of use as a name for the footwear. It may be a geographical distinction.
Born in 67. I remember all of this stuff! Wow! Thanks for doing this!
Great Video!!! Great Memories!! 👍🏿
What a Collection!!!!
Thanks for the walk down memory lane. My mom still uses her digital clock radio.
hey im 51 yrs old and ave to say thanks for this trip down memory lane i remember about all this stuff
I'm also 51,& I remember these memories,& back then it was all we knew,& that was cool with me!! I enjoy the memories of items that I rarely think abt anymore, but I appreciate what we had @the time!
Remember the sock monkey. My godmother made me one when I was little. I also had little people farmhouse and school bus.
45 Records, marbles, yoyo's, and those metal lunchboxes are all things that can be popular again (because it is easy to see their value).

I still have over 1000 45 records!! I need a jukebox for them!!
Man I was born in the mid 70 & I remember all these items you were showing wow it sure does bring back memories
Wonderful trip down memory lane. Thanks 😊
Nice stuff I can’t believe the clock radios are now vintage and some are Worth a little bit of money
For some reason RUclips brought your channel up. Born 1968 and so much of this brings back memories.
Good stuff. Ty for fond memories.

If u spliced the cassette the rite way there was no sticking to anything! I’ve done thousands of audio surgeries w no fatalities 😂👍
You are so funny! I just never thought to keep any of those items when I was younger! Ferrell’s Ice Cream shop has a lot of the old candies!
Definitely brings back memories! I actually still have some of that vintage stuff. Thanks for sharing!!
I stuck wacky packages stickers on doors and walls in the house. My parents weren't as big of fans of them as I was.
Remember back when the word "sugar" was still in the name of so many cereals? Kellog's Sugar Frosted Flakes, Sugar Smacks, Sugar Crisp, and so many more..
Yeah! We've cancelled "sugar!" And "fried!" And Pop Tarts had twice as much filling, and very little crust.
I did not grow up in America so there was some stuff I am unfamiliar with. But I can relate to most of it.
Okay, for that gum that was inside famous album covers....how did that ever go away? It's brilliant! That is an absolute winner, I have never seen that before.
I still have 2-3 (opened) chu bops . The Rolling Stones. I'll never get rid of them. Wish they still made them!
@@amyboone125 Awesome that you were able to get some, those are so cool!

Wow! That was great! So many memories.
Those phones never dropped a call.

Does anybody remember, how many times this guy say's "back in the day?"
Great video.
HAHA Guess I should have called this video "Back in the day"
I was born in the early 70's and some of the items you should I recognize and others I never knew it existed.
My friend gave me his Freakies magnets he had as a kid and I have a yellow WC Fields Frito eraser I bought off of ebay.
I could sit and remember everything I can from my childhood, and in fact I have to come up with fodder for my 3D art projects, but no matter how much I remember, no way would I recall that Freakies cereal. But now that I see it, it's so obviously familiar! I can remember the taste, the crunch. Great List

IN THE 60S AND 70S those little water pistols could be bought at any store ,and marbels were always a great thing at school breaks.
I had those EXACT flip flops with the stripes,& I wore them until I outgrew them,& by then, the heel area&the corner area by my big toes had worn down so much, that a couple layers of stripes wet worn down to a different order of colors !😂
Nice stuff! I don't have most of these, but I do still have my switchblade comb from the 70's. :)
Great memories

Whacky Packages?? I didn't know what they were called but I had stickers from them all over my mirror. Very cool!
the mini baseball helmets for ice cream are still alive and well today
We used to get those at K-Mart, and you would pick one from a board and it would have a free, or reduced price for your ice cream!
Thank you for the video.
And I love it 1970
There was another thing about the phone. They were comfortable to hold. A modern smart phone is not.
Still have my ViewMaster with a set of Buckaroo Bandai discs..
Banzai...
Wacky Packs are quite valuable if they get graded high enough.
Good stuff
Smoke up Johnny 😂😂😂😂😂😂👍👏👏👏
Awesome video.
I used to watch moms digital clock change as I listened to the radio when I went to bed
This was fun. Thanks. I have all the Freakies magnets. What about Aurora monster models, Colorfoms aliens, and all the games!

I remember why everyone wanted a PeeChee folder, it was so you could write Love is PeeChee but Sex is an all season (SPort)folio on it!

Great Content. One kind request, it'd be lot better if you remove background music when you're talking. Thanks👍🏻

Jack Abbott....that's Terry Lester!
Are you Canadian by any chance, cause I've never heard anyone else refer to flip flops as thongs. 🇨🇦🍻👍🏻
