Jordanian players in the first goal celebrated by simulating eating "mansaf" which is a famous jordanian dish with a particular eating method (spherical rice balls with ur right hand while sitting on the ground), the Iraqi goal scorer had a yellow card already, celebrated for too long and then when the refree whistled for the player to get back on the pitch to resume play he got back and then proceeded to mock Jordanians by facing the jordanian crowd and doing the same Mansaf celebrations while eating with his left hand, as a Japenese person im sure you could understand how that was immediately seen as disrespectful on multiple layers, the ref had no choice but to yellow card him which resulted in 2 yellows= red

Second, while he was taking his time, he used the time to provoke Jordanian supporters by mocking their celebration. I understand why many Iraqi supporters are upset. I mean, I would have been very pissed if this had happened to my team. But rules are rules and facts are facts, and they sometimes aren't aligned with how we feel.

Ref screwed over Iraq. There are no rules for too long celebration. The ref should have rebuked him. No serious ref would give him a yellow, especially when he already had an yellow. It's premeditatedly spoiled the match. The only rule about celebration where a yellow card is mentioned is taking off the jersey.

Celebrating the Iraqi goal 1- he celebrated for too long that even his teammates were telling him to go back to the field 2- even after 2 minutes of celebrating he went and sat down and openly copied/mocked the Jordanian celebration (which was a celebration about Jordanian culture) so if he did it knowingly or unknowingly he basically not only provoked the national team by copying their celebration but he disrespected jordanian culture. Even if he did not do that specific celebration, after being asked a few times to get back to the field and stop celebrating for 2 minutes and defying that request and continuing celebrations regardless atleast warrants him a yellow card based on unsportsmanlike conduct, now he already had a yellow card previously which is his own fault so the second yellow naturally forced the ref to give him a red. These highlights are not enough to get a good picture of what happened and that ref either knowing the cultural implications of what the Iraqi did or unknowing of the cultural implications, he did the right thing.
As a Japanese, so surprised Iraq lost to Jordan cuz it won against Japan in group stage. I think Aymen Hussein is one of the best strikers in Asia, hope he and Iraq will have great success in the future.

As a Pakistani, it's a great privilege for us to be seeded in the same group which contains Saudi Arabia, Tajikistan and Jordan for the qualification round for 2026 FIFA WC. It shows that our opponents have great footballing skills and our players can learn a lot from these teams.

@unvorbereitet There is no fifa rule that says that excessive celebrations or copying the other teams celebrations should be punished. I advise you to look it up and go through the fifa rule book. The ref is wrong to do this no matter which country it is.
