That takedown was nothing more than Tank having his weight perfectly set up to be vulnerable in exactly the right way for Don to give him a shove and send him flying. Don was seeing stars at that exact moment, and due to his pure heart and Tank's lack of grace - the takedown happened. Don was still punchy at the moment he was jumping on Tank's back and trying to figure out wtf just happened. Ultimately, Don won due to his heart and Tank's lack of coordination. Just for the record though, this was partly luck and Tank was just about to win before the takedown, because he was beating the every loving shit out of Don Frye. I can understand why Tank was upset, but that's where sportsmanship comes into play and you give your opponent what he's earned: respect.
Totally an accident. Don was in the hurt locker. But like all Predators they take advantage of the situation when their prey stumbles. Tank was kind of hurt, but Tank landed more cleaner shots and you can tell Don was in big trouble. Easily one of the best matches of UFC history for their age and weight class. Easily a top 3 win for Don.

That was a fight! That was a fight like you’d have in the street. That fast, that intense, that much action, that serious. Couldn’t believe Frye slugged his way outta that brawl and got tank off hid feet. Super intense fight of all time early in to the cage fighting days. Can’t believe Tank up and walked out of the ring. Kinda uncool. He couldn’t shake Frye’s hand and say good fight bro? Either one of those guys could’ve walked away the winner. Both equally matched in that particular brawl.
