      +The Cisco Kid Compared to Tate's crap? Yes, this is great compared to it. Compared to what a lot of other bands, including QR, can really do? Pretty average.

      Probably not man he might have lost sight of that with plotting revenge tactics against Geoff with his vocals, Instead of worrying about their album that makes no sense and doesn't tell the listener shit about it. The key is a concept with many themes to it and takes on a journey and theirs a meaning in the lyrics, I don't get a meaning from this other than I sung so much high I lost place of the hook.

    If U carefully read the lyrics and listened to it loud will notice that the music is a strong punch in the big mess the world is nowadays. "Anger and fear fuel the fire"........."heaven or hellFIRE, we´re fractured again". State´s corruption, violence, rapping, terrorists everywhere, greed from the corporate whores. This is a straight jab in the world scenario we live 2day. The last line is fantastic "black are the souls that tear down humanity"...."they´re coming, closing in..." Oh fuck it frightens me!!! QR is really back!

      +shane dobiesz Parker is truly underestimated. He's a fantastic guitar player, and completely fits right in in QR. When they hired him back in the Tate days, he already knew the songs. Wilton didn't have to teach him a thing!

    Of the 3 songs I've heard so far, they are all AMAZING!!! Queensryche has never been better. That's right, I said it. I was a fan in their early days and fell off the wagon when they began to suck. Since Todd joined, they've been the best I've ever heard them.

    • @anolaf
      @anolaf 9 лет назад +5

      +D. Wilkins I'll give you "best since about '95 (Promised Land)" but saying they've NEVER been better is just...ouch. Come on! EP, The Warning, Rage for Order, Operation: Mindcrime. Those four, especially beat any new shit into the ground. This newest album, so far, seems to be their best in a VERY long time. But not ever. No way.

    • @d.wilkins5178
      @d.wilkins5178 9 лет назад +3

      I remember hearing Operation: Mindcrime for the first time. It was legendary. Epic. I feel a similar sense of excitement with the new material. Plus, I'm a big fan of Todd. To each his own.

    • @rbagel55
      @rbagel55 9 лет назад +2

      +D. Wilkins I'm going to have to agree with you. Usually when a band gets a new singer, it's usually the other way around. Not with Queensryche. probably had something to do with the bad vibes they were getting from Tate and being free from them with Todd, who not only sounds like Tate but has a higher range.
      This new album is going to be EXCELLENT

    This is the REAL Queensryche, This song and the others are just awesome! I have listened to Tate's new album 20 times there are at best two songs worth listening too. I never thought it would be possible to replace Tate but they did, Todd is awesome. Last album rocked with Todd and this one he is really being allowed to be himself and I think we are all in for a real treat with this new album. Tate can't just replace Scott, Eddie and Michael and Parker with just a hall of fame line up and expect the same Queensryche sound. You can hear the Queensryche sound in every new song, proggy and much heavier, like the old days.

    • @mikedavis577
      @mikedavis577 9 лет назад

      +ZillaFitness | Chad Pink Really??? Most old-school QR fans would be likely to consider Tate one of the elements you're referring to... pretty sure neither of us is hearing him in this tune. Tate's become a very disappointing, embarrassing and bitter person, but the one thing I'm sure he didn't do is sing any of these vocals - which, by the way, is probably a good thing. Still, he should never be passed over or forgotten if someone's referring to elements that made QR the brilliant gem they --were--.

      +Mike Davis One more thing: Before anyone goes & gets too excited about this "new" sound/supposed return to form .... I'm not yet convinced it meets the criteria to be considered either of those things - - - Ever hear of a band called Dream Theater?

  • @Chriswiredpatra
    @Chriswiredpatra 9 лет назад +2

    I love Queensryche and Dream Theater a lot and I m a huge Geoff Tate fan. Now that the former are divided, I try to listen to both efforts openmindedly to see what I like. What impressed me with Dream Theater is that when their vocalist got into vocal trouble, a phase which lasted years, the band never considered replacing him, they remained close like buddies until the problem was eventually dealt with. Musicians are not expendable objects. Dont hate someone who cant deliver the same vocal range anymore. Especially vocalists who abused their voices to entertain us for years. Respect and explore their new range and sound. Voices change, mature or even deteriorate, they are a physical component. This here is a great song that has the old mindcrime feel and this new vocalist is really good. I happen to be one of those listeners and fans who think Tate is an integral and defining part of the "Queensryche sound" but music has to be listened to without hate and stereotypes.

    Geoff was the best vocalist on Earth during years, but now he just wants to take care of his cats and his wine company. I think he deserves that, he´s a free man. But we, the fans, were looking for a strong rock stuff for so long. And "Condition Human" brings back an atmosphere we haven´t feel since i don´t know, maybe since DeGarmos´s departure. Finally back to the real world of Queensrÿche.

    Todd - Love the edge you brought back to the vocals with Quensryche
    Ed Bass - Still sounding and looking badass!!
    Scott - One take Scott!!! always a treat.
    Parker - The guitar pick!!...LOL, but seriously, nice chops and a great new(ish) guitar player, how does it it feel to be the youngin?
    Whip - Love the overall more (relatively) progressive (or return to) direction of what is coming out, while keeping Old School fans that might not pick up the nuances grounded in the Ryche!!

      What are your statistics suppose to mean it still doesn't change the fact current QR is a great cover band, If I want classics I have the albums don't need them for that, Also the fan base is divide so how is that a accurate count for anything nimrod, You have Queensryche (cover band) fans, Tate fans, and fans of both so what are showing other than a bunch of numbers that don't add up to how people personally feel, But are simply just numbers accumulating through people watch videos which doesn't say anything, So think about that idiot and stop trying to make people choose a side, I simply could defend both but it's not exactly neutral everybody wants to take sides.

    • @julianfelton3068
      @julianfelton3068 9 лет назад

      OM is a band put together like the concept from the man himself where as QR are remain members with two new guys who seem out of place, He use a name he came up with to start something from the ground up instead taking an established name and ruining it with an amateur hour singer, Who only sounds like Tate because is his bosses told him so to sell copies of their new music and performances, which seem to be not generating any money. More than 80 to 90 percent of the setlist are classics wrote by yours truly that's a cover band bro, With a couple new songs which doesn't help their case by much so nice try with that claim, Also the only low IQ here is you with your ignorance towards a main element of the band because the remaining members say hate him and you do it like a well trained servant.

      It ain't the instrumentals without a vocalist the songs don't go anywhere, And Geoff's vocals/partial writing with Chris made this band money and success beyond their wildest dreams, Todd will never give them half of glimpse of that today mainly cause the music scene has changed big time, Nothing against them but it's the truth I honestly like both sides but too much hatred towards Geoff doesn't make that easy especially when none of us know him or them personally.

      The replies here are laughable to say the least Todd is an imitation like fake sugar but he can sing, But it's too bad Queensryche are exploiting his Geoff Tate impersonation to make money instead of laying the name to rest and forge on as something totally different, Also the key is a great album compare to this sub-par material which is just a copycat of the first 4 albums, And concert opener don't make me laugh where the hell is the chorus/hook the part of the song that their known for. This is nothing but more than unmemorable track I forget about it just that quickly theirs no pulse here like earlier QR material.

  • @ThordMoller

    Fact is that the original Queensrÿche would never have released something like this. This is not metal. Its not even rock. This is pure pop, buried in a layer of distorted guitars and ridiculously trigged drums. This can't compare to anything Queensrÿche. I dont think of anything even close to Queensrÿche when i hear this. I'm not saying that it sucks though. It's just not Queensrÿche. I'm with Tate. At least he is always upright, not trying to be something he's not.

    • @BillConMusic
      @BillConMusic 9 лет назад

      +Thord Dude you realize they released Dedicated to Chaos under the guidance of Tate. Answer me this..was that music Queensryche? I'll save you the trouble of answering, NO it wasn't. It was pure shit. You lose total credibility when you say this isn't even rock.

    • @ThordMoller
      @ThordMoller 9 лет назад

      +Bill Conway I realize that i have commented on the wrong track. This is actually one of the tracks i enjoy very much of this album. Dont know how that happened.. The song i meant is "bulletproof". My apologies. This song actually rocks. The vibe of the band as a whole, i still stand with my opinion though.

    • @BillConMusic

      Thord No problem . LOL i was going to say how isn't this rock? lol

    • @ThordMoller

      +Bill Conway Other songs i really dont like on this album are Arrow of Time and Guardian.I think they are so lame and horrible, the drag down the whole album. It's sad, cause without them i think this album could have potential to be a real killer. Since those were singles, my expectations were extremely low. I was happily surprised with Hellfire, Hourglass and Just us anyhow.They have clearly made improvements from the last release. When the material is good, it really is good. I think those lame tracks and the production ruins most of it though. The drums are trigged to death, everything is ridiculously loud, and there are no fun basslines that i can hear. When it comes to that, the key has a huge advantage. Also the songs of that album fit nicer together. Can never listen to that album without hearing it all in one go.

    You know what, fuck it! I can't hate any more. Yes I love Geoff Tate and I always will. The old Queensryche will always be my favorite and no matter how much LaTorre sounds like Tate, I can still hear the difference....and that's okay. Todd has the spirit of that voice that Queensryche is known for, so it's good to see them at least keeping the band alive. My only wish is that DeGarmo would join these guys again. Sorry to say this but he WAS the heart of this band and always goes unmentioned. Oh well, rock on! I still can listen to all of my old Queensryche albums with Tate and now this new stuff as well. Hell, if Tate could be more serious about doing music, I might could listen to him more. I just think he doesn't care anymore. Whilton, Rockenfeld, and Jackson do...that's why they are here.

    Well I think my hearing is just fine. In fact I've been a musician for 30-years, work in a recording studio, and have had the honor of opening up for them on their first tour. I guess I was hoping for a fresh sound, and maybe taking some chances instead of rehashing the past. I'm sure their fans are very happy. Oh, Todd is young, but when Geoff Tate was that age he sounded great too! What about Todd and Midnight? HMmm...

      +Rich Rozek Todd is 41. I'm pretty sure Tate didn't sound this good when he was 41. You want fresh go check out The Key. It's fresh, freshly laid shit. Sorry but I'll take this Queensryche.

    I saw them last year (mainly went because The Rods were opening)and though they were very good, I wasn't overwhelmed that they had a new singer, but it was great seeing them have a singer that could do the early material justice. But since getting Condition Human I've become a Queensryche fan all over again. Love it, love it, love it and I'll be seeing them again in January, can't wait!!!

    Can we really call this QR? Only one founding member? I think the LP is good, real good, but have the balls to create a new band and sell it that way (see SIXX AM). The name is the draw - but this is really the SR Band.
