I have a spyn da 3200 amplifier what cause the lights to jus be blinking without even a signal when u turn it on the lights will just be running a y suggestions
only one channel on mine seams to clip and ive never had the other channel do it but its gone into thermal protection before do you think this could be the transistors on the 2nd channel
Hi, can you help me? My system is working great but my only concern is that after i turn off amp and mixer amp starts to clip after couple of seconds clip lights turn on and are lit for 20-30 seconds. I tried to change order in which i turn off equipment but it didnt help. I have behringer ep2500.
Do you know anything about tactile transducers? I have a Behringer EP4000 powering a buttkicker concert. Basically a magnetic piston powered by the amp. But when using the ep4000 and every other amp I have found with the watts to power it clip before you even feel it. Now its not a speaker. So the company says don't worry about it because distortion isn't going to hurt the transducer. But what about the amp? Just seems surprising to me that im pumping 1250W rms into the thing but the power amp clips. It seems I am either clipping my mixer or I am clipping the power amp. If neither one is clipping then you cant feel anything going on.
the powered mixer is a completely different amp and right after 0 is clip that's normal for it to clip after 0. So you take the feed from that mixer to a power amp and with the mixer going to -3 you get the amp to clip. It means you have more head room on the amp now. You shouldn't have to run the mixer as hard to get the same volume. It means your putting a lot of input into the amp. You problably need to turn the trim down on the mixer to be able to get to 0db before clipping the amp.
Hie Bob, i have a KS600BA Sub woofer, it was faulty due to its Power Trans fail and it was in protect mode. manage to repair that part. right after that the clip signal is on all the time without any input or output connected. any tips or recommendation.
hey bob, can you help me out. i have a 220watt power speaker. and well my speaker does clip. my question is if i would get another amp separately can i connect my speaker to it? and will the volume be able to go higher? if so what type of amp do i need? or do i need a mixer? or what please can you talk to me.and tell me a little about this. thank you
okey as i understand it the lower ohms the more powerdraw the speakers has. The more ohms the easyier it is to drive by the amp? So feeding 8ohm speakers with an 4ohm PA amp is not harmful in any way? We are talking two IBL LX60 L and R and an LEM 220watt PA amp.
@ermollejuo O.K. let me ask you this....have you tried putting no signal into the amps and turning up the volume on the amps all the way up? Sometimes there are shorts in the input sections. What kind of mixer are you using? There maybe something up with your mixer or speaker processor that's causing both amps to do this. The reason I'm saying this is that both are clipping and it's very, very rare that both amps would poop out together with the same problem all of a sudden.
@ermollejuo I researched the p500 and that is a turntable.... Are you sure its not the p5000? ( which is a power amp). If it's the p500 turntable, the p7000 power amp will clip since the amp can't handle the impedance of the turntable. You'll need to get a mixer with a turntable input on it then that mixer will send the correct signal to the p7000 amp.
Hey bob....having an issuse with one of my subs. I have a QSC 750 power amp running 4ohm load on a set of SONIC 18" subs. (4 ohm cabinets) I'm not getting that big punch with those and when I start to push them (speakers) I have 1 that want to "fart" out....why just 1???? I have some outside venues coming up and I can push them the way I need to.... suggestions???? I probably need to get new subs?????
Mark Scott Hey Mark,.....is that the QSC ISA 750? If so, that amp is made more for cinema installations than live sound...so that might be part of the problem...but I kind of doubt that theory. That amp is rated at 650 watts a channel at 4ohms. What is the rated wattage of your speakers? I remember Sonic from a long time ago...it was made by Soundtech which was the Saint Louis Music company (which also made Crate).. How old are your subs? I'm thinking they might be from the 90's when Sonic was pretty popular in clubs. I think you might need some new subs since the cones might be dry rotted. See if you can get a local company to rent you some subs and try them out with that amp. If they don't fart, then that's your answer. Also check your speaker cables....anything thinner than a 14guage speaker cable will create a pile of resistance in the line. Hope this helps!!!!
Bob Ranalli Thanks Bob....I did contact a friend of mine that is going to let me try out a set of Peavey subs (18") this friday night for an outside show we are doing. Very curious to see if this is an amp issue or speaker issue.... Will let u know if u wish :-) Thanks so much for your input.
im runnig an LEM power amp in my bedroom sounds nice. But whats missing is Subs i need to get an nice sub and an power amp for the sub. im somewhat insane running an 2x220lem power amp and large speakers in my bedroom. but hey. it sounds well. any thoughts how an 4ch power amp or 6ch one would work with an surround pre amp?

To add to previous post...the QSC does not CLIP during distortion....????

Hi, how many amps is the source of plx 3402?
hey bob, i recently got a rockville rpa8 3000 watt amp and it shut off by it self. i noticed it was heating up. do you think its a fuse? thanks

oh. is it safe to run 8ohm home speakers on an 4ohm poweramp as far as ohms and impedence goes?

Sure. As long as it doesn't go below 4, you'll be fine.
thx
and my amp is Behringer EPQ2000
my amp is only 4ohm but if i use 2ohm sub the amp heats up faster
Volume too low
Time i get a new amp
I have never got a P5000s or 7000s to clip your doing driving too much input and the gains should be all the way up not 6 or 9 oclock all the way up.
work on your video sound
