I loved this mini arc for Ennoshita, it's probably one of the most relatable ones for other volleyball players. He is not some overachiever, he is not really physically gifted, he is the most normal dude in the anime so far.
11:58 This line spoken by Ennoshita brought so much impact because he spoke from experience. He knew how it feels like to run away and the regret that follows after. At that moment, he and the other 2 second years (Kinoshita and Narita) probably understood Yamaguchi's feelings best.
That discussion between the second years about who should be captain is great: I love Tanaka's idea that "running away" has actually given Ennoshita something that will help him understand other people. And then we immediately get to see that's true with him and Yamaguchi. But even beyond just understanding how Yamaguchi is feeling, the fact that he immediately gets in there and shields him makes me feel a lot of things; he's going to be such a good captain.
7:44 Actually Daichi took his old captain's words dearly. Daichi's quite harsh when he needs to be. Just as Ennoshita skipped practice, Asahi skipped too, and Daichi was more harsh to Asahi than usual. Not to mention, he literally rejected Hinata & Kageyama's club applications because they were too disruptive.
3:41 this is huge. I don't remember if it's a miss translation or they changed it from the manga or the meaning gets a bit lost, but here Tsukki is basically saying that he couldn't imagine anyone better to replace Daichi. Tsukki of all people sees the value in Enoshita and respects him. Also the fact that he even says it out loud is amazing Fun fact, in the manga Enoshita is a little more noticeable, of course you can still miss him, but there are more moments and small side stories, the characters also call his name more. He is even mentioned in the first Seijoh training game, when in the anime he is just shown in the background so you of course wouldn't notice him, especially because he looks like Daichi 9:26 I love that you remember Tsukki doesn't have a strong serve, he is almost on par with Hinata, making it in is all his focus, same with receive, so taking either of them out when they are in the back and can't switch with Noya is a bigger advantage for many reasons 10:05 Yesss, exactly, he always has comments (in the manga even more) that show he really cares for him, and they joke he sounds like a dad (he even calls Yamaguchi, Tadashi, his first name) 10:49 I looove that we get the reactions from Tsukki and Enoshita. Haikyuu does that many time, we get reactions and explanations from people who make the most sense, either because they play the same position, have been in a similar situation or are the most connected, it's more noticeable in the manga, especially from season 4 onwards, sadly the movies cut almost all those parts, when I feel they add depth to many characters at once 12:33 If you pay really close attention when rewatching you realise that Tsukki actually hasn't changed his personallity much, it's just that our understanding of his character grew (sure he is trying harder in games but his attitude is almoost unchanged)
You guys not noticing Ennoshita in the background until now is exactly like what the Johzenji captain was talking about at the start of the episode

Since dadchi died, step dad ennoshita had to take over
I really love the part where Daichi only showed vulnerability and his frustration about the situation to Asahi (his co 3rd year) 🥲
