There is nothing that compares to the swing away can openers. the green handled one you have is, I believe, a smaller version swing away. They are all great and will last forever. you can never have too many. I save all those other kinds to give away to people who don't have one.
It can be used for Tuna cans because my mom has arthritis and can't use the finger ones.....she uses this same model she just uses the edge of the counter....has it down to an art.....unfortunately Swing A Way like everything else today in made abroad and the quality of yesterday is missing......but the principle of how it works is way ahead of many brands.
Best can opener and the only kind I've ever owned.

I have pain in my fingers and need soft grips.
How soft is the grip on the crank?
How about the handles?
My original one is probably nearly 50 years old. It doesn't cut as cleanly as it used to

That's the can opener version of "stripped the bolt getting the vice grips"
not ideal for small tuna cans since the handle hits the counter. holding it along edge helps but not ideal
To German Shep: I'm not sure, but, If this can latch, held, and hoisted, this would make clearance room.

Try using the can opener to cut into the side of the can instead of the top. The result will surprise you!
